I'll keep it short & simple. Last night, Oakland's GA voted to call a General Strike in the city of Oakland on Wed. Nov. 2nd. OWS should consider doing the same in Solidarity, and so should all the Occupy encampments in US (if not the world).

Chances of a full and effective strike may be slim, but, its a good reason for others to get out in the streets. This is the time to make our grievances known!!

I urge the OWS GA to consider this show of solidarity!!!

True, true, that we are ignored is the great fear and risk for sure. And there is much preparation and support needed to pull it off effectively. BUT, at the very least coordination w/ other GAs should be considered in the context of future actions, maybe building to a call for a GS in the spring, once demands have crystallized.

In meantime, continuing to air our grievances & connect the dots between Wall St. greed and the country's problems is a good strategy.

Stay strong~

This is a very dumb idea.

A general strike takes full participation of the unions and a whole lot of preparation and organization.

A "call for a general strike" that is universally ignored is just going to make us look both clueless and impotent.
