Note this only includes legal ways to game the welfare system. If a person cheats, they can get $8,000/disabled family member or keep their welfare benefits while working a side cash job.

Plenty of work-arounds like the ones you describe. I know a couple together twenty years who were going to finally get married a few years back but then realized that her daughter from a previous marriage would be coming of college age soon and if they married, the daughter's college grants would dry up and blow away. But a single unemployed mom putting a kid through college, cha-ching! For all I know he charges his fiancee rent too.
So maybe that's what's behind the divorce rate in the US!

We have the richest "poor" people in the world in this country. And the more people dependent on this, the happier the Liberal Democratic Party is. They keep enough people on "assistance', they get elected.
