Forum Post: Why does the GOP hate Women?

Posted 11 years ago on April 27, 2012, 7:34 p.m. EST by Puzzlin (2898)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

"It shouldn't come as a surprise that that the far right is not just opposed to abortion, but contraception, too. Allowing women to have control over their bodies has never been allowed in their universe."

"The surprise is that this policy stance has gone from far right lunacy to an issue that Republican candidates are campaigning on, and trying to cloak that lunacy behind the cry of "religious freedom."

"*You think this would have been settled by now. The birth control pill has been in use for more than 50 years. Abortion has been legal in the United States for nearly 40 years. Sex has been successfully decoupled from procreation, and most men and women are happy about that.

But the noisy claque who hates women, hates the idea of sex for pleasure, and hates freedom of thought and action is back with a vengeance. And, once again, we have to mobilize to fight for women's health and reproductive rights - a fight that in a rational world wouldn't be taking place. It's the one fight where Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and the GOP are on the same page."*

"To me, the amazing thing is that the beatdown that the Susan G. Komen Foundation got for cutting off its funding for breast cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood clinics should have served as a warning to the far right that this is not a strategy that will win elections."

"Instead, conservatives are doubling down on their attacks against Planned Parenthood and birth control in their never-ending struggle to refight the culture wars and hate on women. Both Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney vowed not fun Planned Parenthood during the Feb. 22 Arizona GOP Presidential Primary debate."

"Planned Parenthood should get nothing!" Rep. Ron Paul exclaimed at one point.

Again, why are Republicans doing this? The answer is that they have little else to run on.

The Repugnant Party just can't help it's self from their downward spiral. They are more entrenched then ever in their history as a party. They embraced the repulsive Tea Baggarts and took a hard right turn. The reaction was entirely predictable, the day after Obama was elected they started their crying and whining. And anything Obama does is bad and horrible. Nothing he does can possibly be right or good. He can't even take credit for tagging Bin Laden, the repugnant crowd wants us to believe that Bush did it from his easy chair in Texas after, as President, he told us, America, he really didn't care, something about bigger fish to fry. It was the media's fault. Blame them. The Repugnants are more repugnant than ever. Once they lose this next election cycle there will be blood in the water. We need to see them bleed all the way out with our helpful involvement in our government. We need to be good citizens and see the that Repugs get what they deserve. They've been giving it to us, now we need to give it to them. Payback. The Repugs mean real harm to us and always stand in our way to a future filled with our dreams. They destroy dreams as they dream collectively of Over-Powering our way of life as MONEY rules over US instead of REAL people, people who care about all of us. People who want everyone to succeed or they can't.

To the streets. We taking it back to the streets and to the voting booth this November. We must make Wall Street and every elected member of government do it right by holding them accountable, if they don't listen to the people and do what is right for us, they need to be voted OUT. Find out who these slackards are, hold them accountable, and make your vote count. We the people always have had the power. We generally are lazy with our politics and wait for someone else to do it for us. A representative form of government requires good representatives that really are representative. Most are NOT. Our turn! NOW, it's you. Get UP. Stand UP.

See you in the streets SOON!!!

Oh yes, the usual, no trolling zone here. If your the clever troll type we can play games, maybe, but don't be silly. All others need to find their brain now that they discovered their anger and rage.

Good Luck to A good clean fun awe inspiring Conversation.

First, this isn't new. They don't hate them, except for the one's who think the are equal to men. Those they hate, feminazi's Limbaugh calls them, and worse.

But those who acquiesce to a role of subservience, they are OK.

But it is OK because they live in a parallel Universe. Example: the issue of equal pay. Romney is for that, but not for a law which will make it happen. Why, not? Because in their Universe it isn't necessary because their pay is already equal. Never mind that some independent sources, have women earning from 72-77% of what men earn in the same jobs.

Ignoring those numbers they say, taking into consideration that women on average work fewer hours it makes their pay appear less. The folks who produce the stats say, "But we accounted for that and several other factors, we eliminated those effects and the numbers actually are 72-77%, after adjustment for those factors. But you know, facts don't have the same meaning there in that special Universe.

Regarding the contraception/abortion issue. they say, "You have to respect and allow us to do whatever what we believe. But what you believe will not be respected and you can not do what you believe you should do, if it conflicts with what we believe or do .e.g. Muslims do not get prayer breaks because it slows production." They don't believe in that.

There's a bunch of hypocrisy on this issue solely because the lies never end as they weave their tales. I think they really believe they can get away with it and nobody, namely voters, will call them on it.

I'm hoping they get a damn strong MESSAGE in November as many find themselves out on their a$$ hats.

Is America like an abused spouse? http://www.thenation.com/blog/167729/america-abused-spouse Yes we are, with the same symptoms: loss of empowerment, hope and identity. It's time to kick the abusers to the curb.

[-] 0 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

I agree Mary. I will help! This movement is an awakening and once awake, we will slumber no more. I've been at it for a long time, for me, it's no fad, it's a way of life, and I was hoping for day when the PEOPLE would begin to awaken and take the CONTROL they always had. If we don't want CLOWNS in Washington we need to vote based on the truth and facts, and clowns won't be elected. ANd then WE hold all those elected accountable for everything they do. BUT----------------if I am the only one who does, then so be it, like I said, I have never stopped. I have been involved for a long time as an activist even though the progress is slow and menacing. I'm no rubber stamp. And I do GET UP, STAND UP!!!

Good Luck MaryS!!!

Thanks for all you do. As someone said, never let them catch us sleeping again.

[-] 2 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

Very good point. We need to stay with it!

[-] -1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

There's so much of it, it's hard to keep track of it all, amid all the BS about how they are all the same.

They are not the same. Toss as many GOPers out as you can this fall, and take stack once we do.

It does defy any sense of reason to see grown men in charge of the most powerful country on the globe, acting as if they haven't any familiarity with the civilized world. Not just refuting common sense and decency, but throwing fits and name calling as if they were tired children at a day care.

[-] 1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

It's a power grab and politicians cater to those who will elect them. If people believe crazy things they want their politician to blieve mad crazy things too. If your not you don't get the job. For these kinds of folks the truth is a secondary issue. Understanding has it perks but also like you and me it frustrating to see the folly as it only causes further pain and suffering. So much for Utopia.

Acceptance is hard. I have to work at it. But I do try regardless. Do me my part, that makes acceptance easier.

"In the past few months, new housing construction is up. New auto sales are up. Consumer spending is starting pick up. At the same time, new unemployment claims have declined to their lowest level since the recession began in early 2008. The overall unemployment rate, while still way too high, is slowly falling. And the number of long-term unemployed is slowly falling too. Even the Republican stock market has hit 13,000, the hoghest level sincxe May 20, 2008 - near the end of the Bush Administration."

"All this is happening despite the best efforts of the Republicans in Congress to sabotage the economy to try and make Barack Obama a one-term president. Plus the Occupy movement has successfully changed the conversation from obsessing over budget deficits to spotlighting the greed of the richest 1 percent of Americans and how economic inequality threatens our democracy."

[-] 2 points by SteveKJR (-497) 11 years ago

The reason unemployment is falling is because people collecting unemployment have been denied benefits. I recently talked with a person who was collecting and he told me his benefits were deined because the "unemployment rate" was falling and as a result he was no longer eligible even though he still had benefits available. Look it up if you don't believe me.

[-] -2 points by Growup5 (-84) 11 years ago

Denied benefits? Benefits have been extended and extended. You are being denied anything, benefits were never intended to last forever.

[-] 2 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

But for RICH CEOs there's those Golden Parachutes.

So, for them, it is just about forever. A wise invester could easily live off the interest and grow the fund for inflation perpetually. In fact. most rich people when retired, can live comfortably in retirement for as long as they live. It's called security, something they cherish. Unless 100 million dollars isn't enough for you GrowUP.

Would you squander and consume your benefit of being rich GrowUP???

Why is it we must cuddle the RICH and f$$$ the Poor GrowUP???

Do you have compassion for people who haven't made it in this society???

Tell the truth. How do you feel! Are they in your pockets?

Puzzlin

[-] -1 points by Growup5 (-84) 11 years ago

Being rich reduces worries about money? Wow, shocking.

Compassion is fine and the country has shown a lot of that. Benefits have been extended multiple times. But compassion eventually fades into stupidity and welfare and we're about at this point if not past it already.

[-] 0 points by SteveKJR (-497) 11 years ago

I take it by your comment that people on unemployment shouldn't be getting any benifits at all.

[-] 0 points by Growup5 (-84) 11 years ago

No, take this from my comment: unemployment benefits are not forever, nor should they be forever. They're for a certain amount of time, a time that has been extended and extended. Unemployment is fine, even an extension was fine given the downturn, but to say someone is now being denied benefits is misleading at best.

[-] -2 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

No, I know about that. I believe what the guy told you. But your wrong that the only reason the unemployment rate is & has been going down is that these guys are getting chucked into the street. Obama REALLY has turned the tide, under his watch, 4.1 million private sector jobs have been created and we have seen 25 straight months of job growth. This is the biggest reason the unemployment rate has been going down and continues to go down.

The GOP has turned it's back on women as they cut these preventive care programs. It is amazing that they think they can do this without hurting themselves politically. They have declared a War On Women, no doubt, their actions tell the story which their lies can't cover.

[-] 1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

It is pretty damn amazing. They MUST really think they will get away with this War On Women just because they say hey, we're not declaring a War On Women but they then pass legislation taking away their rights. Do as I say but not as I do.

They really think we stupid and ignorant. Make them PAY for this!!!!!!!!

This is just one of the many HUGE differences between Dems and Cons. I love women and their rights, but a little more help (any would be nice) with the misguided their-both-the-same crowd would be appreciated.

Capiche?

Absolutely, the Repugnant kind have shown their true colors. We are watching and we're wide awake. We're taking this fight to the streets and to the ballot box in November.

seriously - I really do not understand how millions of Americans can hear the lies again and again - and even consider voting for the republicants

[-] 1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

Generally, people have a hard time following the truth, uncovering it through facts and evidence takes time and effort. It's allot of work. It's rewards are endless but many never try very hard.

It always harder for those of us who paid the price to get the truth to understand why others don't care to bother. But, there's the hidden beauty, understanding, and for that, it's always been worth it. We can always understand this world just as it is and then from there, change it. I will always seek the truth because I seek to understand.

Awesome! Tell a friend or 10! Tell "flip."

[-] 0 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

I definitely intend to my friend. We'll have a full court press here getting the vote out in November. VA will go to Obama. I'm helping make that happen.

Good Luck in your region Jiffy. I think we both know the value in doing this. It's probably the same reason we show up in these forums sometimes.

Thanks!

Portland is my area, but we have a lot of numb-skulled anarchists.

[-] -1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

I understand, they are widely dispersed across the country but some places have bigger pockets of anarchists than others. They are extreme which follows since many are young and have taken rebellion to a level where trouble most definitely follows.

I'm in VA, and, this is a swing state, we are ahead right now by +8. If Mr. Etch-A-Sketch loses here he will not become President. I will play part in making sure this happens. Personally, I could not imagine Obama losing. I would be in shock. I have already benefited directly from Obama getting elected in '08. My 22 yr old, a senior in college, is covered under my insurance. This is due solely to healthcare reform.

If we don't work together as Americans to make sure we all get a shot at the dreams then none of us make it. We really do need care that everyone gets a chance. We just don't leave them in the street and blame them for substances out of their control. I've been concerned for decades that America has less and less compassion. It's evident and the consequence is needless suffering. Look at the Drug War, it's carnage is everywhere. We treat drug addicts as criminals which makes us an uncaring sort of lot.

The GOP is the problem for America moving forward. Divided government divides it's people. We need to beat back the GOP especially the right wing repugs.

Good LucK!

"twinkle"????

[-] -2 points by katotohanan (-57) 11 years ago

YES! UNITE AND WIN!

But not in rigged elections. And never with the corporate-controlled Democratic or Republican Parties!

[-] 2 points by Puzzlin (2898) 11 years ago

I will fix that typo for you.

Corporate Controlled GOP in bed with BIG MONEY. Catering to the RICH and worshiping them. FOR THEY ARE THE JOB CREATORS.

We must have spooked them with the thought of having them pay their fair share in Taxes. Mitt Romney's tax rate is lower than most of the middle class tax payers. Maybe that's it we should kiss more corporate a$$.

Or maybe, what really creates jobs is DEMAND. Bush called this stimulus during his presidency.

We are awake. Any questions???

You should go to your local GA and speak all that stuff.

Make sure you record the reactions of those in attendance too, that will be funny to see.
