It's like a cargo cult. They think if they vote like them, they will become rich.

It has to do with childhood fantasies and bedtime stories.

I can't stand the MSM and everyone's obsession with these "royals"...These monarchs are the biggest welfare queen vampires, sucking the life out of everyone else so they don't have to work...SCUM!

I can't believe the English pay taxes to these dirtbags!

Wasn't this nation founded by American aristocracy? Who were people like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington? What kind of Americans did people like them specifically allow to vote when the republic was founded? Who were the landed gentry and also the monied aristocracies that a member of the landed gentry had warned people of? What percent of the population did these people compose?

We put the American aristocracy in place

The real culprit, and our real target for change, then, isn't the overpaid winners but the government. It is the natural tendency of economic aristocracies to try to preserve their privileged position and they use their economic resources to get the government to help them do so. The increasingly money-devouring campaign process, though, encourages our government to do just that, which undermines both the market system and the democratic process.

If we want to indulge our distaste for the wealth of others, we can support the politicians in their scheme to cover up their own shortcomings by raising taxes on the successful. If we want real and permanent change, though, and a fully functional market economy with a merit-based income distribution, we have to clean up our government.

Remember they wanted to evict everyone from Zuccotti Park because they had to clean up? We cleaned it up ourselves and everything was cool? So now it's our turn: Dear Congress, either you clean up the the house yourselves or we're gonna sweep it out. We stand ready, ballots in hand, awaiting your response. Yours Truly, The 99% Declaration.

Hell Yes!!!!!

[-] 1 points by nickhowdy (1104) 12 years ago

It will take more than voting to clean that mess up...

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

No it won't. Of course it would be less work for us if they clean it up themselves, they just need the chance and the right incentive:

V. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that IF the PETITION FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES approved by the 876 Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY in consultation with the NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE, is not acted upon within a reasonable time and to the satisfaction of the Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY, said Delegates shall reconvene to utilize the grassroots network established in the election of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY to organize a new INDEPENDENT POLITICAL PARTY to run candidates for every available Congressional seat in the mid-term election of 2014 and again in 2016 until all vestiges of the existing corrupt corporatocracy have been eradicated through the power of the ballot box.

Advertising and embedded advertising. See how fast it adapted to the internet. I guess I should add a link.

Americans support Aristocracy because they are the most brainwashed people on earth. The best of the German propagandists were saved from WWll retribution by the US army and given a full and benefited life in the US in exchange for their expertise. Simply put "if you tell a lie loud enough and long enough everybody will believe it eventually" Seems they have done their job well since 1946 ergo homeless people still believing in America's long lost civil liberties and sense of equality.

Actually, as CitiGroup cleverly explained in the memos from 2005/2006 that they are still desperately trying to suppress, we're a Plutocracy, where everything is controlled by only the extremely wealthy. What scares the wealthy more than anything else though is that the 99% still get to VOTE.

What this means for the 99%, is that we have to vote the right people into congress. I for one, think that this is a great forum with which to identify independent candidates to elect and re-seize control of the government from the 1%.

Then we can systematically fix the loopholes and get some oversight back into wall street and big business.

This needs your support. Read it carefully. This is the best idea I've heard in a long time.

Philanthropist .. seems to be the modern term .. my correction

i think it has to do with the info they receive. people I grew up with are hard working, non political people who buy the american way with out ever researching it thoroughly. They rather believe that those who are at the top stay there generation after generation because they are smarter and more deserving. but take this with as a grain of salt. I validate this on the fact that the estate tax is so low.

Aristocracy is abhorrent, these people have no more right than someone born in Africa. Status should only be conferred on action and morals and not on birth right.

Many ignorant individuals equate Aristocracy with romance, thus the foolish love affair with the notion. Consider the years of brainwashing our children have been shown by Hollywood. The Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, The Little Mermaid and many more than I am willing to name; all showing all facets of society adoring the aristocracy and living in harmony. Aristocracy relates to the few having life/ death over the many. Monty Python and the Holy Grail may have been a parody, however, the life of the peasants in the field - the filth and other small facets all all very reminiscent of the way things were. The Aristocracy are elected by hierarchy, appointed by religious sects or any number of means. No one not of the court has any 'rights' and the aristocracy, by right of 'decree' can do what they want, when they want, how they want to anyone they want within the kingdom. How many fools out there would willingly give up their right to speak openly in public in favor of the alternative, outright death and /or incarceration by the 'slighted' individual of noble birth? Leave it as a fable - reality sucks.
