Why Do Conservatives Have To Always Lie?

Now that is a very good question . . .

I think it must be that honesty simply is not in them . . . .

[-] 0 points by nomdeguerre (1775) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

Because even their claim to be conservative is a fraud. They are really corrupt.

[-] 0 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

it isn't their fault, honest

it's either lie, or be condemned to a lifetime of silence . . .

It's not lies with them - it's reality impairment. They live in a self-constructed reality where everything bends to fit their world view. No matter how much empirical evidence is presented - if it does not fit - then it gets thrown out or turned on it's head

Let's not get carried away with this left or right spectrum thing. Anybody can lie and we must be careful to not get too used to thinking that only the conservatives lie. I am not saying many of them don't but still be careful, I'm sure there are some truthful ones out in the world. Watch all sides and pick out all liers on all sides, especially your own and make it better.

they lie

That is one of the family values.

Because the world doesn't fit their version of the story, so they have to change their version of the story to justify those things that don't fit.

the wmd lies
the yellowcake lies
the terrible end of doma
the birthers
are NOT directed at us
they are directed at the lemmings who DONT think
who have been programmed since birth to obey and to believe

sadly, it is very hard to get the lemmings to think
I asked an R acquaintance who he was for. He answered Gingrich. I asked why. His answer - I'm voting for him because the news media is against him. How do you reason with that kind of brain?

You have to hand it to the Rs - they must have an Orwell implanted at birth - they are supurb at creating a very simple lie { like rice's "we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud." } that requires a brain to refute and a brain to comprehend the refutation.

You do know what comes out of an Rs - don't you?

"do you really think we are dumb or just stupid"

A little from column "A" and a little from column "B". But mostly you are propagandized Drones that always vote for Dems and believe all their lies while always complaining about the same things you voted for the Dems to fix,but they never seem to fix anything do they?

The very fact that your post is premised on a lie is all the more proof of you being just another propagandized Drone and useful tool of the Dumocraps and Chairman MAObama.

Because if they told the truth, you would shoot them on the spot. The first lie is their name. They are not conservative at all. They are radical Nazis.

But after all of Obama's campaign lies in 2008, and his Orwellian double speak about the NDAA, he is hardly better.

Washington DC is for ugly actors.

Well lets see democrats lie too:

"I pledge to be transparent"

"I pledge to make change"

"I pledge to put people back to work"

Wonder what democrat "lied" when he said that?

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

i am not taking about the politicians they all fucking lie.

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

freaking liars

[-] -1 points by economicallydiscardedcitizen (761) 12 years ago

Politics, Religion and Marketing all require an appeal to belief and 'believe' you should know by now is another word with a lie in the middle of it.

[-] -2 points by America921 (161) 12 years ago

What "lies" are you referencing? Not mention that Liberals often lie too. Often in the form of fear mongering. For example the 1996 welfare reform, which was passed under the Clinton administration. Liberals everywhere screamed that poverty would spike and that millions would be left homeless. When in fact Welfare rolls went down as did poverty by 1-2%. So you ask why conservatives lie, why do Liberals lie?

God Bless

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Seems to be spiking now.

Guess it wasn't a lie.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

after 6 years of Democrat congressional control, and 3 years of a democrat President.....yep, spiking is a good word.......

[-] -1 points by America921 (161) 12 years ago

Haha

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

OIC.

You find more people on welfare something laugh at.

You could find a home at CATO.

[-] -1 points by America921 (161) 12 years ago

No I do not find that funny. But people seem to misunderstand my earlier comment. I was referencing the 5 year period after the bill was passed. Poverty went down. Then we got hit by the recession which of course led to an increase of poverty. So no I do not enjoy people in poverty. I hope this clears things up for you and you accept my apology for not making myself clear enough.

God Bless

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

really there are a record number of people in poverty wtf are you prattling about see this is what people mean when they say republicans lie.

[-] -1 points by America921 (161) 12 years ago

Well if you took the time to look up the numbers after the bill was passed poverty went done by 1-2%. It has now since risen. Plus there is not a record number of people in poverty, the great depression is when we saw the highest level of unemployment. Second off I'm not a Republican nor am I Democrat. So don't make assumptions about me. Finally fix you grammar. It pisses me off that people don't use correct grammar anymore. It makes you appear uneducated and ignorant.

God Bless

http://www.heritage.org/research/testimony/the-effects-of-welfare-reform Scroll down, First two graphs, Read them or DON'T RESPOND

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

are you fucking kidding me the heritage foundation you can't possibly be serious can you this is not a journalistic site it is a propaganda think tank used to manipulate reality idiot your are a fucking idiot.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

I wouldn't normally use Heritage as a source, specifically to prevent the sort of ad hominem comment you made...but, it IS cited and sourced to specific reports and pages from the census bureau..the numbers check out.....and this poverty levels have risen since 2007 when the Democrats, and more importantly the liberal/collectivist ideology, took over congress....

Try research instead of ad hominem logical fallacy......you'll learn something...

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

talk of ad hominem logical fallacy is the strawman of all fools. and drawing the correlation of kicking people off of welfare and poverty going down ignores the economic boom in menial jobs that happened in the 90s due to clintons economic policies.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

sorry, buddy....it wasn't Clinton...the economy was already climbing, and it's increase coincided with the republican control of congress...and that rise continued despite the huge downturn in 2001-2003, right through 2007 (when the democrats took over congress and immediately doubled the yearly deficit to a cool trillion dollars)

welfare reform was an utter failure http://www.laprogressive.com/economic-equality/progressives-predicted-clinton-welfare-reform-law-fails-families/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/04/AR2009120402604.html http://articles.latimes.com/2006/oct/22/opinion/op-wax22 fucking morons like you that think they know any fucking thing have completely trashed this country since kennedy got his head blown off by the banking cartel.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

you disparage Heritage, and then cite a website called la progressive...that's a joke, right?

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

heritage is a joke they lie.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

that's it? that's the best you got? the census bureau doesn't lie, and that is where the data for heritages chart comes from......it passes the test of verification

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

they misrepresent the information. the same as lying.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

have you checked the census bureau report?

You seem like a very angry individual, for what reason I do not know, and for that I pity you. But if you are going to be rude to me then I will not waste my time debating with you. I was looking at the five years after the bill was passed. Poverty and Welfare rolls both went down. Now I think that these principles could be some how be applied to our present situation.

God Bless

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

that was also due to the economic boom that clinton engineered not due to workfare are you kidding. people could really use those benefits now.

[-] -1 points by slammersworldisback (-217) 12 years ago

Clinton was pulled kicking and screaming into the economic boom.....the near zero deficits of the waning years of his administration were on the heels of a Capital Gains tax rate cut in 1997, and...the other poster is correct, the economic rise succeeding Reagan lasted until 2007, with only minor blips......

The industrial infrastructure dismantled itself by not remaining current and competitive with the rising markets of the world.....in the 50's and 60's we set the stage, as the only industrial power not effected by the destruction of WW2 and communist revolution....we fell asleep at the wheel, building Pacers, Gremlins and huge hulking boxes of detroit crap, not to mention the shit TV's and other consumer goods that foreign markets used to lap us in the race to technology....

If it wasn't for the changes instituted in the system under Reagan the technological advancement of the late 90's and early 2000's wouldn't have been possible...no one would have risked the capital for the meager returns available before Reagan revamped the tax code...

stop being a douche and try to get into a discussion...not an angry spitting contest...

[-] -1 points by America921 (161) 12 years ago

Clinton did not engineer the boom the economy was still growing from Reagan's administration. When the internet was introduced that helped the economy a lot under Clinton. I'm not saying Clinton was a bad president but he was not the cause of the economic boom that started with Reagan. Now there is a debate about whether it was reduced rolls or the economy and most people agree it was both. For two reasons: First poverty does not go down 2% by one act alone. It is very hard to bring poverty down. Second the economy wasn't really growing at that time.

Please use proper grammar it annoys me when people do not.

[-] -1 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Or using the same terms the President today uses.....He (Clinton) "inherited" it from the Republicans.

[-] -1 points by fightclub2012 (74) 12 years ago

1st of all don't care what annoys you. 2nd of all reagan presided over the wholesale dismantling of our industrial infrastructure and so many other heinous treasonous acts it would be quite an exercise to list them all. are you fucking kidding me???

[-] 0 points by America921 (161) 12 years ago

Do you have proof of these treasonous acts? If you do not I cannot take you seriously.
