What good does it do not to come out with a list of demands? For this movement to move to the next level and we need to come up with a list of what we want!

Here is one way to share your ideas of the theme of this movement. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/OWSMessage

Here's why I'm opposed to an OFFICIAL list of demands (note - not bad to post and discuss all sorts of demands but I think we need to refrain from Occupy Wall Street endorsing any list as official or any leaders as official at this particular juncture. Here's why http://occupywallst.org/forum/to-those-who-think-occupy-wall-street-needs-offici/

At some point we will need to get more specific about what we want. Do you think we should never have an official list of demand, or just not yet?

I definitely think we will need one. And it's definitely good to discuss in a positive way. I'd like to see the demands separated into groups, I like the following approach for group 1: http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-please-help-editadd-so-th/#comment-148823

I view it as more fluid. The civil rights movement had some specifics but they marched for justice on even some of the smallest things. The impotant thing is direct action, which seems to be stalled.

The civil rights movement had some general goals. What are the OWS goals? Do you think that the OWS movement will become are large as the civil rights movement?

One can only hope. And the general goal, equality, justice, workers rights, hasn't changed. Keep in mind the groups most affected by the civil rights movement are the same groups most affected now.
