Forum Post: Why and How I Just Told the AFL-CIO to Go F**k Themselves

I just got a broadcast email from Richard L. Trumka, AFL-CIO ( peoplepower@aflcio.org ) that said this:

"For many reasons, we are pledging to work with President Obama throughout the elections and in a second term. The bottom line is this: As president, Barack Obama has placed his faith in America’s working men and women to lead our country to economic recovery and our full potential. So we’re putting our faith in him."

My reply, along with UNSUBSCRIBE, was this:

"BUSHBAMA SIGNED NDAA 2012, HR 658 AND HR 347. SO GO FUCK YOURSELF."

Feel free to quote me...

NDAA 2012 Indefinite detention without trial: Section 1021

The detention sections of the NDAA begin by "affirm[ing]" that the authority of the President under the AUMF, a joint resolution passed in the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, includes the power to detain, via the Armed Forces, any person "who was part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners", and anyone who commits a "belligerent act" against the U.S. or its coalition allies in aid of such enemy forces, under the law of war, "without trial, until the end of the hostilities authorized by the [AUMF]". The text authorizes trial by military tribunal, or "transfer to the custody or control of the person's country of origin", or transfer to "any other foreign country, or any other foreign entity".[18]

Good for you.

What are you going to do then? Vote for "None of the Above"? There is not a single candidate who would not have done the exact same thing. They are all the same.

"None of the Above" is my write in.

Division Troll.

[-] 2 points by ironboltbruce (371) from Miami, FL 12 years ago

Just what "division" are you referring to? OWS has no allegiance to any political party or any political candidate, and that includes Bushbama.

I think you could have skipped all the rhetoric, though, don't you?

HR347 is bullshit... how come there was little to no news about that one? Anyone else wanna move to Brazil sometimes?

Outstanding!

[-] -3 points by owsleader31412 (3) 12 years ago

The OWS is owned by the SEIU, so in effect if you tell the AFL=CIO to fuck itself then you don't love OWS, which means your fucking human detritus.

[-] 1 points by ironboltbruce (371) from Miami, FL 12 years ago

I am part of the 99 percent, and I am NOT "owned by the SEIU".

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Me neither....Do we get free cookies?

Now that I think about it, There isn't really anybody actually "owned" by SEIU, or anybody else for that matter.

Something to do with the civil war.

The SEIU and the AFL/CIO don't get along. Basically, none of the like the SEIU.

A large group of people worked very hard to research, draft and prepare those resolutions. I was told it would be a shame for after all that work for Obama not to sign them, and that the republicans made him do it.

How could I be so misinformed?
