The earth owns itself. There's just a lot of people on it scrambling around "pretending" they do.

That's easy, I do. Or to put this another way, on the philosophical level, each and every one of us "owns" the world - it is yours.

Ok, so... personally, I am or was aware of all of these events as they occurred; there is nothing new. But I do disagree on this theory of economic declension due to the rise of competing independent powers; I see a vantage and I think if appropriate steps are taken what they have identified as a trend of decline can be indefinitely reversed.
