Forum Post: Where Is The Alternative Media Voice On American Television Today ?

Trying to see through and read around The Main Stream Media in The "United States of Amnesia" (Gore Vidal) ... requires almost a super human effort, especially if one is also busy with the minutiae of working, raising a family and just living.

The standard 'Corporate MSM' (ABCNNBCBS / {Lame}-FUX SNEWzzz) is nothing other than 'Mind Management' ; 'Perception Control' and Propaganda of the highest order.

As such, I would like to sincerely recommend to readers the following suit of regular TV programmes by 'RT International' ( http://rt.com/programs/ ). All are made by Americans for Americans and in America (except 'The Keiser Report' from Paris) and are available on cable etc. in much of the USA or online as well as Channel 85 on UK Digital Freeview or Channel 512, UK 'Sky Digital Broadcasting' :

There seems to be an urge by some (ie The Usual Suspects) to simply knee-jerk a response of 'Kremlin Propaganda' at these programmes but just one view will disabuse the viewer of any such reactionary notions.

The programmes are astute, informative, independent of 'The Corporations' and I strongly urge all readers to at least try to view the latest episode editions of these programmes which will be self-explanatory and are all very informative indeed.

"Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people" - John Adams - Second US President (1797 - 1801).

Alternative 'You-Tube' links to the above :

I can not recommend these programmes highly enough to readers - especially "Capital Account" and "The Keiser Report", for those who want to cut through all 'The Market BS' to the heart of the matter of Bankster Greed and Corruption.

Thom Hartman and Rachel Maddow are pretty much the only voices I listen to. As for textual news, I go for different blogs of respected people. For instance, nakedcapitalism.com... or truthout, truthdig, and or alternet ... I dabble in the drudge report just to insure I have arguments ready when it comes up.

With particular reference to 'The Financial Markets' and their manipulations, machinations and mendacities, I really can not recommend highly enough 'The Keiser Report' and 'Capital Account' in particular, both of which are rapidly garnering an international reputation for an astute, erudite, incisive and informed critique of 'Modern International High-Finance (but Low Morals 'n' No Ethics !!) Capitalism'.

'rkc' : Thanx for your interesting and informative link and in the spirit of one good turn deserving another : http://bilderbergconferences.com/ , with the purported location of this years 'Dark Gathering' further indicating the desired trajectory of events to come vis a vis Iran !!!

Perish the thought because " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QglEbgON9o " !!

I think that there are precious few places the Bilderbergs can have that meeting any more. The meeting had to end early last year. Several members fled out of fear of being arrested, including Kissinger. I guess they figure they're safe in Israel, given the depths of hell they have gone to, to do Israel's bidding. The walls are closing in though :D

although it may be impossible to get better than thom hartmann
I suggest chris matthews, rachel maddow, and lawrence odonnell, dylan ratigan

can you tell me SPECIFICALLY what they have said on their tv shows that does not lean TOWARDS OWS goals?

[-] 2 points by shadz66 (19985) 12 years ago

Not quite sure that I get your question, as all these shows can be seen (imho) as broadly in tune with OWS goals but perhaps more importantly, they offer a real alternative to the standard Corporate MSM output.

Yeah - I was not very clear
my real point - that I made sideways
is that LABELS are not a constructive way to make a point.
If you want to say Mr. L on the XYZ network lied about Obama's church,
that can offer a realistc point of debate
If you say NDAA is terrible ( that has 5000+ sections ) is simply not ligit
say section 1021 is reprehensible - we can address that

My point is - generalizations such as "MSM" or "NDAA" do not address the real issues.

Please consider that occasionally a collective descriptor is apt, necessary and useful. Further, the slicing and dicing of individual clauses can have the effect of 'message dilution' and thus I'd simply request your indulgence in just clicking the genuine links above, in order to see for yourself.
