who lets his half brother live in a slum and doesn't offer help?
I would think that this little story does not have nearly enough information to develop an opinion or encourage any meaningful discussion.
Ok then
What if the same multi-millionaire spent his time going on and on about fairness and helping each out and how important it was to do that? Even talked about how Jesus would want the rich to help the poor? "For me as a Christian, it also coincides with Jesus's teaching that for unto whom much is given, much shall be required,"
But what if his half-brother screwed his wife? Or stole from him?
I am no Obama supporter, far from it. I am just playing devil's advocate here. We have no idea whatsoever as to the true nature of the relationship between this man and his half brother, if there is any relationship at all. So what is the point in trying to judging it? true that. it's just fun to think about what people would say if it was a Christian Republican doing the same thing.
I would say that families get really screwed up sometimes...
