Forum Post: What questions would you ask the candidates tonight?

Posted 11 years ago on Oct. 16, 2012, 6:35 a.m. EST by bensdad (8977)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Mr.O: How do you plan to get legislation passed thru the House that is controlled by the grover norquist pledge party that will not tax the 1%

Mr. r: Do you believe Americans are stupid enough to vote for a candidate who gives them a 20% tax cut without giving specifics on how it will be paid for?

Mr. Romney: Please tell us how a Romney-Ryan administration would differ from the Bush-Cheney administration with regard to the Economy, Wall Street, Taxes, Afghanistan, poverty, jobs, the middleclass, regulations, the SCOTUS and decisions before it, health care, the environment, green energy and Grover Norquist.

Mr. Obama: If reelected, will you appoint a strong Special Prosecutor(s) to address the massive fraud committed by Wall Street, economic treason by the Republican House and members of Senate, and the crimes against humanity committed by the Bush administration?

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Answer to Romeny question: Nothing. No difference.

Answer to Obama: if that was going to happen, it would have already.

[-] 2 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

Obama: Why do you pretend to be progressive when your policies are more center/right.

Romney: Is the rep party backing the anti-fairness, anti-science, and anti-middleclass policies for a reason or have you just collectively lost your minds.

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

"How much money do the taxpayers have to give you for you both to drop out?"

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 11 years ago

As for yoru first question, the delimna of taxing the rich can be compared to candidates after candidates that make promises and dont keep them, Here is a specific: 1. When did more money to government ever result in more money in the hands of we the people, to whom all money belongs? 2. It results in more fat cat government paid salaries, where they make 2-4 times as much a year than we do. This is idiotic that no one has ever commented on this fact. I think we should limit governmetn workers pay to $60k and maybe offer another $10 as a bonus if we the people feel they did a good job.

[-] 1 points by Underdog (2971) from Clermont, FL 11 years ago

"Governor Romney, why have you STILL not released 10 years of your past tax returns as has been the custom of all presidential candidates to do, and yet required your VP running mate to reveal 10 years of his returns to you personally to verify his honesty?"

I am absolutely convinced that Romney is hiding something that he knows would likely cost him the election if he were forthcoming with his taxes, not excluding a legal but unethical tax dodge by offshoring assets. Anyone running for the highest office in the land should be held to at least some degree of proof that they are composed of integrity. Nixon said "I am not a crook" and was exposed. Should not Romney be required to prove that he is "not a crook"?

Mr. r: What will you do to help the Bain employees in "Bainport" Sensata with all of their jobs Bain is outsourcing to China ?

BOTH: Was the bailout of GM a good thing ?

BOTH: Should Glass Steagal be reinstated ?

BOTH: Is cliamate change primarily man made ?

BOTH: Do you believe the recent voter ID & voter purging laws are needed ?

Mr. O: Do you have any assets in offshore tax havens ?

BOTH: Is it true that corporations are people ?

BOTH: Do you agree with the Citizens United decision ?

BOTH: Unlike george bush, will you promise to pay atention to your PDBs ?

BOTH: Based on what you know now, did bush/cheny lie about wmds ?

BOTH: Do you believe tax cuts & trickle down create jobs? and please site examples.

BOTH: We hear the term "small business". Is koch industries - an "S" corporation "small business" ?

BOTH: As president, would you advocate elimination of any support for Planned Parenthood?

BOTH: Should in-vitro fertilization be legal ?

BOTH: If abortion becomes illegal, exactly what penalty should the woman get for "murdering the fetus"

BOTH: Do you believe a fetus is a "person" constitutionally ?

BOTH: Should public schools teach creationism ? How old do you believe the earth is ? Do you believe in evolution ? How did Noah get the koalas to Australia?

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Ok, you have 30 seconds to ask a question. It is the only shot you have. Are you sure that any of these questions are worth it? Do any of those questions have anything to do with the executive branch?

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

yes - the answers for many of them can show us what direction the next 4 years will be led in

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

What authority does a president have in regards to the questions that you have listed?

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

The president is one of two branches of government that is required to rebuild America

for example
BOTH: Should Glass Steagal be reinstated ?
If both branches agree, this would protect America from another bank disaster

BOTH: Do you believe the recent voter ID & voter purging laws are needed ?
If both branches agree, legislation to stop this would protect American votes

BOTH: Do you believe tax cuts & trickle down create jobs?
If both branches agree that this is BS, legislation to tax the 1% & hire the 99% can be done

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Wouldn't the better question be, "What is your interpretation of the commerce clause?"

The problem that I have with posing questions for both branches is that they are applying for the position in one. They are limited. When you choose to go this route, it creates an area where they are held accountable for that which is beyond their control. Therefore, it is necessary to fully develop the questions for the power that they actually hold. Alternatively, ask the questions that pertain to both branches, such as the one that I listed above, that follow the Constitution.

[-] -1 points by Barfnow (-16) 11 years ago

Not one question about our dead ambassador in Libya.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

I believe the TRUTH came out today.
Do you have any FACTS to the contrary?

FYI - no one ever asked for more security to be in Benghazi
and the congress cut $200,000,000+ from the security budget

[-] -1 points by Barfnow (-16) 11 years ago

Yes, more security was asked for. And tonight on the news it was reported that top intelligence officials listened to the attack in real time? Why are you lying?

[-] -1 points by TheRazor (-329) 11 years ago

Mr Obama, another alternative energy company you touted has gone under. Is it the right thing for your admn to try to pick economic winners when you fail so miserably every time?

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

"every time" ?!?!?!?!?
even when you have a valid issue - you lie about it

[-] 1 points by TheRazor (-329) 11 years ago

Give me some successes, please?

Mr President:

How... how... is it possible that someone who claims a desire to aid Americans with healhcare costs would then seek to deny them access to the one vehicle that permits them to lessen costs in the form of a medical saving account? If it is your intention to help us with healthcare costs, then why did you reduce the this nontaxable dollar amount?

Also can you explain the other twenty or so new healthcare related taxes that you have imposed?

Can you explain such a position so obviously contrary to your stated desire of helping Americans with healthcare costs?

Also... can you explain to us what thoughts prompted you to the sudden realization that a professional clown like Biden is capable of heading this nation?

[-] -2 points by WeThePeop (-259) 11 years ago

I would ask Obama why he has not fulfilled any of his campaign promises. Also why he was not transparent, why he spent more tax dollars that any other seated Pres. Why he allowed gas prices to skyrocket out of control. Why he lent billions of taxpayers money to green energy firms and the majority of them went bankrupt. Why did he bailout GM and why has GM not paid us back the 25 billion they still owe. Just a few questions just for starters

[-] 2 points by WSmith (2698) from Cornelius, OR 11 years ago

What is the Republicon party's role in congress??

[-] -2 points by WeThePeop (-259) 11 years ago

Under the current administration!!!!, the rep party role is very limited and it is holding America back

[-] 3 points by WSmith (2698) from Cornelius, OR 11 years ago

Wrong. Sabotage crossing the line of treason.

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

you would call it treason - to put a pledge to grover above their oath of office
so would I
but it just wont be done

what we can do is disconnect capitalism from democracy

[-] 1 points by WSmith (2698) from Cornelius, OR 11 years ago

Revoke CU and change some laws.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Is by simpleton you mean occupier that is tired of the two party system, then you are correct.

Not all of us are blind like you.

[-] -1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

You dont like our drum circles?

Hmmm....

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

partisan a bit ?
Why he allowed gas prices to skyrocket out of control. the president can do nothing about this ( excpt releasing the SPR )
Why he lent billions of taxpayers money to green energy firms and the majority of them went bankrupt. The majority ? your source for this is ? david or charlie

[+] -4 points by WeThePeop (-259) 11 years ago

The Pres can ease gas prices by opening up more drilling here in the US but he as refused to do so. Although he has allowed a Brazilian oil firm to drill in our waters and resell it back to us. Dumb!!!!! Whether some like it or not we are going to need resources like oil, coal, etc for years to come. Until some other energy source is invented

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

BS there are huge areas already open that are NOT being drilled
Obama refused to sell as many leases as the drill baby drill people wanted
going from drilling to producing gas takes years

[-] 2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Refused to sell more leases? You mean over a thousand per year?

http://www.politicususa.com/obama-oil-production.html

[-] -2 points by WeThePeop (-259) 11 years ago

It is something we should be doing right now then. Also the all the coal mines that he shut down should be reopened.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

We should reopen the Upper Big Branch Mine

[-] -1 points by WeThePeop (-259) 11 years ago

Last I heard of that place is that they were going to permanently seal it

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

preferably with the mine owners inside
especially Blankenship

OPEC, dummy!

[-] -2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago
  • Pres Obama has kept most of his campaign promises.

  • This Admin has been more transparent than all in recent history.

  • Pres Obama attempted to cut the annual budget deficit that Bush left us but your repubs in congress filibustered every attempt.

  • The Pres doesn't control gas prices, Big oil (Koch bros?), commodities traders (right wing 1% wall st'rs), & OPEC (Bush fam freinds?) control them.

  • The Pres successful Stimulus (that repubs cut in half) invested billions into greentech corps. 3 out of almost 100 failed. Vast majority succeeded, millions of jobs created.

  • We bailed out GM to save millions of American manufacturing jobs, and a great american industry. GM has paid some back and we will get all our money back with a profit.

Just a few answers for endings!

LOL

[-] -1 points by WeThePeop (-259) 11 years ago

Pres obama kept most of his campaign promises??? name a few

obama admin transparent " what about obummerCare" ??

The Pres successful Stimulus (that repubs cut in half) invested billions into greentech corps. 3 out of almost 100 failed. Vast majority succeeded, millions of jobs created.///////////////This is pure propaganda and a big lie. Virtually all of the greentech's went up in smoke

Also you claim a "very successful stimulus" another joke, he has put us another 6 trillion in the hole with next to no jobs created, except for creating UN-needed Gov jobs

GM owes us 25 billion and with the current drop in GM shares right now we are losing our asses on this investment. Will GM every completely pay us back???? F no

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago
  • Here is 10 pages of promises kept. By the non partisan politifact

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/rulings/promise-kept/

  • I remembera big meetings on tv with repubs and dems debating Obamacare. And many other meetings as well. Not all. But still this admin is more transparent than any in recent history.

  • This I think lists the green tech investment success. http://www.thegreenmarketoracle.com/2012/10/romney-lied-about-president-obamas.html

  • The trillions added to the national debt came from the annual budget deficit that Bush left us, & repubs in congress obstructed dem action on.

  • GM will pay us back just fine. Have no fear.

You should support American industry. Not root for failure. That would be traitorous like your repubs in congress who prevented the cutting of the deficit, and kept the recovery weak.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

TEN PAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dont confuse me with facts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

LOL. He must be still reading. I never heard back.specifically.

[-] 0 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

are u sure he knows how 2

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Here's the main ones, none of which were kept. All of that crap on Politifact, which everyone knows is a Dem site, was never part of the core campaign. We campaigned on some major things, the Bush shit, all of which has been exteneded and continues, and in some cases are worse now than before.

Repeal Bush cuts Bring all the troops home Stop letting Wall St control our economy Repeal the patriot act

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

You're right. It is unlikely that he can read.
