Welcome to the Reservation. You don't get to vote on Congressional Law ...Congress passes them based on Lobbying. What is the best way to control a population.

1) Buy more guns and Ammo for government authorities, drones, better communication technology, fusion centers, evesdropping, etc. Expand detension facilities in the US through growth of established private prision industry, create flexible prison population.

2) Get more people to go on sedatives or mental drugs, get more people evaluated for mental problems like ADD, or whatever.

3) Ban all hand guns, ban all semi-auto rifles, or limit magazines to 3 shells max in citizen possesion.

4) Privatize Social Security and Medicare, Privatize all payments to citizens like veteran benefits, disability, unemployment payments, food stamps, government wages, etc.

5) Nationalize all US Pension or Retirement Acccounts to pay off Federal Debts/reduce federal debt.

6) End the Tax Credit for write off of Interest Expense on Home mortgages. End the Home Heating Credit. End the Head of Household Credit. End right off of Medical Expenses.

7) End the Free Internet. Tax purchases on the Internet. Put internnet site ownership under department of homeland security - where you have to get a lisence. Regulations force you to prove copyrights.

8) End the Freedom of Information Act (FOI), announce that Anti-Trust Laws will no longer be enforced and will be repealed. Reveal that it is now possible for Walmart to own the Major Cable, TV Networks, as well as Major Print Media newspapers. Conglomerates in the USA must be allowed to compete with other global corporations.

9) National Identity Cards will be required for travel and travel outside of the Country. DHS will run your ID Card at all ports when you travel this will include running bank and credit data for outstanding debts, alimony, child support payments, and of course "wants and warrants".

Welcome to the Reservation

America is out of Balance. The spending on Military Sector and Military Technology is spilling out all over the Civilian Sector. Defense Spending under Ronald Reagan was in large part an Economic Stimulus Program. The trend is very obvious to all who go back and watch the budget increases. Star Wars was an example of this Technological Investment. Remember this was not an investment in NASA or the US Space Program ...this was investment completely of a Military Nature.

So What Was the Result of 30 years of very strong, increasing defense spending in the USA?

1) You have a new Agency DHS who very need is dubious. US has always been free from Invasions and Terrorism ... with a few terrible exceptions.

2) Director of CIA had the mission of overall US Intelligence Coordinator. We rewarded him after 9-11 eventhough he didn't succeed and looks more like a failure.

3) Huge defense and Security Industries have sprung up in the US, international corporations by the way, complete with offices in Washington DC to Lobby Congress.

4) USA Leads the world in Weapons and in Selling Military type hardware around the world. We even train military leaders from foreign countries and will provide grants and financial schemes to arm nations and gain influence.

5) Military Culture, US people are shielded somewhat from War through a volunteer military, but we have been going to war, know people that serve, know people that were injured or died in service, our stores have plenty of military type consumer goods, our media reflects our military knowledge and orientation to war. We have a kind of military culture.

6) Military Technology is now turned against the civilian population with plausable explainations, deployment of drones to region police and municipal police forces, high tech identification cards, merging of pernal data into law enforcement data bases, instance ID checks possible in many venues ports, bus stations, train stations, airports, seaports, gun stores, embassies, military bases, and other friendly nations.

7) Military Technology Financial Systems emerge, corporate welfare for military contracts, use of private armies world-wide not just by the USA, emergence of over 100 private security forces based in many countries, Investors demand Investment Funds focused on Military Technology and military investment by the USA, US and other Defense Contractors have great visibility on Wall Street Stock markets, OTC stocks emerge as security and military tech stocks, US Total defense Budget Doubles from Bill Clinton to Obama and defense vendor direct payments Tripples under federal budget.

8) Out of Balance Command economy, Way beyond corporate welfare for defense companies. The US is out of balance. The Economy appears to Centrally Managed at the Federal Level. We can call this a Command Economy now ...just like the old USSR (Soviet Republic) or like any Socialist Country if you prefer. The difference is we spend on Military, we have build many 'huge' empires within the government military sector, now we have commercial military sector, it is a merging of the corporation with the military ... and we are all touched by this economically if you live in the USA.

10) US people are so unaware of the "huge" empires within our military services, intelligence services, and security services... It looks like there is no turning back on federal investments and spending that has become perhaps a third or a half of our economy. And once you get a job in a defense field - you don't want to give it up if the risk is low and the money adequate. Once empires in government are built, people work out of self interest to sustain them. Only one example comes to mind of investment decline ... people were cut from jobs & uniform in the 1990s under Bill Clinton & Congressional BRAC program ...but think about it - No hardware programs were really cut.

Article below by Peter Dale Scott details how security laws were waiting to be signed after assassinations and Terrorist attacks. Going back to JFK and Bobby Kenedy... it seems that military power has been growing not only in budget, contracts, use of private armies and private security forces ...but in war powers, investigative powers, and legislation. Like the Patriot Act 2001, Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, etc.

Quote from Andrew Cockburn regarding Pentagons Doomsday Project which was facing cuts prior to the Oklahoma Bombing, and they were Griping about Bill Clinton being elected...., "a new target found after Oklahoma Bombing ...terrorism." The buget grew and the program was Robust again as under the days of Oliver North. The empire survived and grew stronger.

Anyone know more about the Doomsday Project?

Doomsday Project?

Fracking? Fossil Fuel extraction/use in general?

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

Actually I see reference to the Seed Vault in Norway, on an Island furthest North, that is also called a Doomsday Project ...at least by one author/film maker.

Take your pick I guess. Nuclear mutual destruction. Repair of japanese nuclear power plant. Preppers. Experiements living off the grid. US Underground bunkers or cities for continuity of government and military functions. GMO Food. GMO Insects. GMO Virus. Suppression of alternative power for automobiles.

Gov bought 47 million rounds of hardcore ammo months ago. Rigth after they decided they could detain people and do whatever they want. After they have been on a domination path of the globe unabashed for the last 12 years.

The people have no idea what is going on. Many on this board dont. And just about anyone on this board is light years ahead of the general population.

Thanks. Yeah, sort of writing from the perspective that this is already happened. Originally maybe I was going for a satire approach. Well anyway #1, #2, and #9 have happened. #8 is largely in place...big corporations can do what they want ...and ask permission later.

Story applies: Careers for Gen Y are doing poorly unless you are part of the Military Complex.

The best way to control a population is with "mis" information.

I could explain it to you all, but it might be a breach of protocol.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

'Nuff said. I have a background history of looking at US Presidential Elections.

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

Hmmm, I've a background history at looking at US invasions.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 11 years ago

Not your country I hope. LOL. I have more of a history of looking at US military actions than I do presidential elections. I don't really like politics. But you have to remember and watch what happens to the degree you can tolerate. Unfortunately I don't know as much about the land of OZ. Saw that movie Galipoli.

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

That was the crappest movie I've ever seen.

Sorry about that one. Honestly it was crapola.

Australia has an obligation to the US to participate.

This agreement is wearing thin, but it is still in place

Well think I was drunk at the time. I remember the Britsh position being hell on earth and the Ozzys right beside them. Apparently some Bristish Officers never felt the pain of their Troops, they were know to sometimes be as obstinate as untrained and unqualified. Some Bristish Officers were walking nightmares. But I wouldn't know except through media.

Hopefully, US investment in OZ is fair and good ... or at least as good or better than the Chinese. I'm sure the US will be at your side in a heart beat. Heard we were going to put in a Brigade or something smaller for temp training purposes. I don't know much about the US Air Force. I guess they have been in the Land of OZ for quite sometime. Like to think we have a Navy port there, and maybe some Air fighter bombers. Not sure if ground fighters really makes sense... maybe up to a brigade would be neiborly.

Trying to prove below that Interest Rates will stay near Zero and We will never cut the Huge Defense budget. Defense Investment is too large a part of the US Economy, for any one President to Reduce. Where will Military & Military security contractors & even miliary contracts go ...if we pulled out of Afghanistan and if we pulled contractors and CIA out of IRAQ & Afghanistan?

Perhaps the contracts would go to Homeland Security and the Security State in the USA. Maybe the soldiers getting out of service are becoming officers in Park Ranger Offices. How many kinds of officers do we have in the USA. Do we need Officers in K-12 Schools. Univesities. Bus stations, Train stations, weight stations, sea ports (got those), ... how about on the Highway like in California as we now see.

Anyway, I think you have a huge Private Security Contractor Industry ... not that much different from Private Prison industry. K-12 would be another place of militarization ... and contracts for private security and surveilance contractors. Videos with audio on School buses, in cafetaerias.

Well just be aware this is culture. Your culture is changing both from Technology & because of Investment in Security and Military.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_private_military_companies
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_military_company
The services of private contractors are used around the world. P. W. Singer author of Corporate Warriors: The Rise of the Privatized Military Industry says "In geographic terms, it operates in over 50 different countries. It’s operated in every single continent but Antarctica." In the 1990s there used to be 50 military personnel for every 1 contractor, now the ratio is 10 to 1 (Singer).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_security_company

The private security industry is rapidly growing, currently[when?] being a $100 billion a year industry, with projected growth to $200 billion by 2010[2]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G4S_Secure_Solutions

The company has been accused of trying to maximise profits in its private prisons at the expense of drug rehabilitation, counselling and literacy programs. In 1995 Wackenhut was investigated for diverting $700,000 intended for drug treatment programs at a Texas prison.

In the U.S., Wackenhut has appeared in the federal courts 62 times since 1999, largely resulting from prisoners' claims of human rights abuses.[10]
