I've redesigned a little bit of the forum to look prettier and reflect the fact that we're a secret shadowy group of occupiers plotting to radically transform society by solving the issues of social and economic justice.
Let's also thank DKA for all the hard work he does moderating the forum.

Why is the site now registered under a corporation?
THE OCCUPY SOLIDARITY NETWORK, INC.
Its kind of hard to build unity when all this strange stuff is going on and people have no clue as what the deal is. Just sayin. With the local groups everyone knows who the mods are, can go talk to them personally. No one knows anything with this, and people who are pretty spot on with their knowledge of occupy keep getting the boot.
I think its worth an open discussion.
Because we were trying to create an accountable organization to handle finances in a responsible way, but the scope ended up being limited because the state postponed our filings for so long that by the time we actually had built the corporation and got all the legal stuff taken care of, the movement had already lost its thunder.

Further imo, any ''moderation'' is best done subtly, unobtrusively and should barely be noticed let alone become an issue in and of itself. Perhaps I should have said that the secret cabal is the management/moderation of this forum. I have no problem with the people who actually spend a great deal of time here posting and trying to moderate this very difficult forum that is constantly under attack. I am only aware of two moderators one of which is you, but even that I am not completely sure of, lol. So, to me, that is the secret cabal. The rest of us, we post, and what you see is what you get. There is nothing secret about that.

I am in no way, shape or form a moderator. I post comments which are strictly my opinion and I have no power over other posters at all. The point of the forum, in my mind, is to discuss issues. When one disagrees or doesn't like what someone says, it behooves one to say so. The same goes for the reverse. The point of posting is to get one's own message, opinions and ideas across.
Being a moderator and being a poster/contributor are two different things, I think. You may be both, but I am not.
I think moderators should be looking for people with multiple monikers, people who don't follow the rules, people who use bots, people who log in with other peoples' monikers such as when I received a PM from "beautifulworld" with the lower case L in beautiful as a capital "i." Things like that should be the moderators job. No small task, really, lol.

In my humble opinion..... The new title is a poor choice for a new title, considering the entire site originated with the concept of resisting Wall Street Corruption, not becoming some "secret organization" based on some ancient language.

Insinuating "secret and shadowy" is contrary to"openly and publicly" protesting corruption in banking and government. Perhaps in a strange way there is a plan to encapsulate any involved into some sort of incrimination.

Dissension of corruption, in both banking and government, has expanded into the streets of a great many countries globally. Can banking actually control the people of the world with advertising, marketing and public image? I think not.
Therefore, this forum and those within it have, either intentionally or accidentally, contributed to the resistance against against corruption... and that is good.

I assume jart and Thrasy are two completely different people, but of course you never really know on the Web. But the writing in the post sounds exactly like T's writing. And I would assume if this was a legit forum change, that picture would also be on the front page. It's not, it's only on the forum page.
Thrasy is part man, part alien, and part machine. Not a cyborg, but a triborg. An undercover agent who mastered the arts of camouflage, infiltration, and lip reading. Some conspiracy theorists claim he is a wizard programmer capable of doing anything he wants on this site. I don't know for sure. It's hard to tell. I do know he is an unparalleled genius, so you could be right. I heard he never sleeps and never eats.
Some, however, claim the picture isn't on the front page so that people can still use the login and signup functions this picture hides. This seems like a simpler explanation. Perhaps Thrasy is a simple human after all. But, that would be a boring assumption. Conspiracy theories are much more fantastic and colorful.

And it seems to me, first off, the picture IS hiding the login function on this page. Used to be we could log off from the forum page. And why not just make the picture a bit thinner? Or have the login box sit on top the picture? I don't know enough about programming to know what a skilled programmer can and can't do. All I'm saying is the semantics sounds exactly like what you (or he, assuming) would write, word for word. And that, in my gut, this just doesn't feel right. A gut feeling, got it? Nothing about some grand conspiracy theory, something else you (or he) seems fixated on.

Ya, it is hiding the login/signup functions here. That's what I meant. That's why it wasn't added on the main page. Certainly, it's easy enough to program it in such a way to leave a place for that with the picture, but jart probably just slapped the image on as a joke very quickly. I would take 10 minutes to adjust the CSS properly to show the login/signup. She probably didn't want to take the time. It's probably just temporary.
Why "cabal"? She's making a joke. Being sarcastic towards those who claim this site isn't transparent. She uses the Rising Sun Flag with Japanese trees in the foreground to symbolize totalitarian imperialism. Then the word "cabal" to symbolize secrecy. She then says "Here you go, you want to know the truth, who's moderating this place? Well, it's DKAtoday. See I'm transparent!"

It would be cool if the site followed the organizational processes which Occupy is supposed to hold dear. Direct democracy, transparency, working together, etc... If we can't run a forum with community, then we certainly can't run the country that way.
The way it's now it resembles a totalitarian regime with DKAtoday as our dictator. Quite sad, especially since his moderation is not very good.
