Forum Post: Weary of the gun arguments.

Am I the only one who is weary of the gun threads. It seems to have taken over the forum. To the casual observer who stumbles on this site they would think guns is the primary OWS issue. The gun debate has pushed everything else to the side.

So, I suggest enough already. Nothing will be solved ere. It’s just the anti-gun vs. pro-gun people flaming each other. Time to take the argument elsewhere so other issues can be discussed.

My personal hot button issues are fracking and war. But I’ve allowed myself to get caught up in the gun threads. But I say no more. I’m done with arguing about guns. I hope others also are.

If your tired of gun threads, why did you post one?

I'm tired of gun threads too; why am I responding to one?

Gun posts/threads are the current weapon of mass distraction.

I agree DK, this is one of the social issues that was used to divide us

While we debated this and simular contentious topics where people had legitimate differences, THEY robbed the hen house

That's why I stay off these threads, with this one exception,

We, sooner or later will need to search for a solution to this, and many other controversial issues

Much of the solution lies in the economic health/prosperity of the individual - ability & availability to earn a real living wage. Yes there are other issues - but I feel that this is a major keystone issue.

Agree, all the economic issues are some of the most important in our struggle

As without economic health - how can we institute healthy initiatives/programs for society? The Bastards are talking about Public AUSTERITY - 32 trillion dollars hidden in tax havens - and the Assholes are talking about PUBLIC AUSTERITY. Un-F'n Believable.

Everything, and everyone is inter-related in the corrupt policies that were forwarded by this nihilistic...morally corrupt...neoliberal system, and the people that were victims of it

Yes - it is ALL intertwined - and the Basic Constant Root is GREED OF THE FEW.

Everything that ever needed to be said is in a Star Trek episode. Or B5, but primarily Star Trek. Everything else in life is a rerun. I don't know why people even bothered to speak before 1966. J/K

Think maybe the vast majority of people who do get upset about gun ownership let their emotions take over their rational thinking and sidetracks them?

Looky looky at who wants to continue with the distraction - surprise - NOT
