Forum Post: We need HELP! Will someone please HELP us!

Most of us don't have a clue what's wrong with our country and the world. We don't know what to do. We need help. The challenges we face are like nothing the human race has ever been confronted with. Most of us or very simple people. We go to work and raise our families. It's going to take very smart scientists and engineers to fix our problems. Politicians, lawyers, bankers and business men can't help us. Elections, voting and protesting cant help us.

Doing nothing as we have done in the last 30 years, really can't help us. Wake people. There is a shelf life on stupidity before it becomes fatal.

The only people that can help us now are the Scientists and Engineers.

"Scientists and Engineers" are useful for providing info. however the problems are rather simple; finite resources and a capitalist system that is predicated on the idea that endless growth is the ONLY way forward.

The two can not be reconciled, the wrong minded ideology of the fundamentalist capitalists, the faith based "reasoning" of the greedy self-interested bankster class is the death of humanity, left un-checked. The future is bleak, since the few in power are drunk with it,. and simply can not be reasoned with. Every talk to a drunkard? Not a clear or useful conversation, same problem with our owners.

The only real question is whether enough of the less powerful/wealthy will realize that the ones we look up to, the ones we follow and work for, are imbecilic suicidal monkeys with little grasp of the real situation. They are happy and power drunk, and insulated from the reality they are causing through their drunken greedy binge of self involvement. The majority must take the lead from the few,. must recognize the truth of our finite planet and reverse the wrong-minded course that has been set by the greedy 1%.

People always say the problem is simple then go on to tell us how simple it is. We don't want to know how simple it is. We want to know how to fix it and what are you waiting for. We needed this stuff done yesterday:

"Sky rocketing debt, unemployment, underemployment, deficits, government failure, Economic systems failure, Financial systems failure, Market systems failure, Monetary systems failure, Social systems failure, Environmental systems failure, Ecosystems failure, corruption, greed, chronic recessions etc…"

Not so simple! our problems are much bigger than bankers. OsiXs is the only real plan out there. Everyone else is just talk. Talk, Talk, Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk, Complain, Bitch, moan, vote, cry, sing, then here we go again, Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk, oh - I no what to do, it's simple, Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk, scratch - scratch, Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk,Talk.......

Did I gore your scared cow?

There is often much "talk" in a text based forum, from people with many different views, yet YOU have the ONLY plan that will work? Hows that working out? (Hint; needs more flag graphics, everyone loves flag graphics!)

Seriously, the problems are CULTURAL in base and need to be overcome with enlightenment brought about through social discourse,. i.e. TALKING! This will not rise from some silly "formal and legal order" that will never get a majority to agree upon, do not wast your efforts.

[-] 1 points by rickMoss (435) 11 years ago

Your funny! I like you. With all due respect. We've been talking (discoursing) for more than 30+ years. Talking with an objective in mind means there's a purpose for talking. The purspose should be to state your plan and solution. Nothing more and nothing less. But please, keep your opinions to yourself if you don't want them to get steped on. We don't have time for this. Do people with out jobs, healthcare and food give a dawn about your opinions. No! Put your plan on the table and keep it movin.

Your words: "This will not rise from some silly "formal and legal order" that will never get a majority to agree upon, do not wast your efforts." I expect that from you and your kind. Excuse me if I ignore you. It has been my experince in life to find that "Most people are ignorant". How else could we allow our country and world to become such a mess. Well informed, intelligent people wouldn't allow it. And that majority of the people you speak of (the 99%), the last time I checked they're having they're asses handed to them. So keep talking - your bound to run out of ass, then you'll have to listen.

You seem to miss the point. There will be no change unless and until the people have a consensus. Currently the corporate culture feeds people lies, that lead them to pursue smaller and smaller shares of the same old pie, this is a stagnant crumbling paradigm that has outlived it's usefulness,. it is nice that you have a 'plan' to change the political system, however that does not change the culture, the soil the system is rooted in. This twisted culture, that teaches growth is a requirement for success, that if 'the business', 'the economy', or 'the empire' is not growing, it is somehow not viable,. this backwards thinking is the deeper problem we face. I agree we need a more direct democracy,. in fact I am a proponent of such a system. I do however take issue with claims of the "one truth path", as there never is, or will be such a thing. We are a diverse people, with many opinions and many understandings. No one thing will ever satisfy each of us. You claim to have 'the' solution, yet without the support of the masses it solves nothing.

We each must take the steps we understand and hope will help, no one size fits ALL. Remember the universe is perfect now, including your desire to change it.

These "scientist and engineers" are not the only people who can save the world, and you should stop telling people this fiction. What about farmers, teachers, brewmasters, chefs, home-builders, artists, musicians, and on and on? These people too are 'the only people' that can solve out cultural problems. Your "scientist and engineers" line is elitist, off-putting and just plan wrong.

Your web site is too full of lead-in and lacks a simple executive summary, one SHORT paragraph summing up your 'plan'. This "Nuclear Option" (awful name btw) of dissolving government, holds little appeal to anyone working for, selling to, or supported by, said government. Remove those people from your plan and you are already far far away form a majority,. your plan is broken.

I suggest you continue to push for a more direct democracy without acting as though you have 'the' one and only true solution, as clearly you do not.

The U.S. does NOT need more scientists and engineers, contrary to what the politicians would tell you. If you talk to your taxi driver or mower of your lawn and truly come to know them as persons and their pasts, you may find that you have a physics PhD (hasn't Fermi Lab been laying off top-notch scientists and engineers?) or an ex-chief-engineer (from NASA perhaps?).

The U.S. has an insatiable need for CHEAPER scientists and engineers but this extends well beyond these realms. The U.S. indeed needs FREE labor and our employers have been very good at approaching that by breaching our own immigration laws and projecting great growths in the technical fields while lobbying for more work visas.

Yes, we have plenty of scientist but what good are they if we don't listen to them. we need to use the scientists and engineers for the 99%. The real problem is that we need to listen to them. They've been warning us for many decades. There is a price to pay when you ignore their warnings and reality. That's why most of us are online bitching about our lives, the government, the 1% and our problems. My advice, stop bitchen and find the smart guys. It's obvious we don't have the answers.

Scientists and engineers have been trained to believe in objective truths and that is a fallacy for many other areas of human endeavors such as management, economy, and politics. Why is that? Human beings are simply made extremely sensitive to contexts and nuances. The scientific paradigm just does not work well with human beings involved. Calling for human beings to become more rational is futile but most DO understand the matter when it really bites.

I'm an engineer. Yes, many of us are ass-wholes. But OsiXs has a novel plan and approach. Put the people in charge and let them decide, not the 1%. I don't think scientists and engineers should control the world any more than I think politicians and bankers should. But I do know this. In a technological world, they are best equipped to manage our resources and technology for maximum effect under our supervision (the people, the 99%). We have to think big and act even bolder. Protesting like children is juvenile. And that's exactly how they treat us.

You so rock.

Thank you. I did learn a trick or two from business -- always project greater demand than I truly need so that there will be an over-abundance of what I need and the price will be cheaper, too. Telling suppliers exactly what I truly need usually means either I do not get the supply at all, insufficient supply, or get it at a high price. So it goes for scientific and engineering labor, too.
