Forum Post: We need George Bailey!! Not Mr. Potter!!

I cannot make it to any of the Occupy encampments, but would love to. If I could make it I would bring a ton of signs that say:
WE NEED GEORGE BAILEY! NOT MR. POTTER!
And I would encourage all to chant this very loudly.
If you don't know who Mr. Potter is, he is the greedy sleaze-ball banker in "It's A Wonderful Life," a holiday-time movie released in the 1940s. The parallels between this character and George Bailey, the sympathetic, helpful nice guy who owns a savings and loan, are so ... fortuitous?... for the OWS movement.
I would love to see hundreds of people carrying the signs. Tying big banks to Mr. Potter. How cool would that be?!!
