We obey the Mammon, when we should obey Love. That is the perversion of the West. We call that freedom when it's only a sort of wicked slavery and inhumanity.

I think you get it, I have often heard people spaek of the marketplace as if it were some kind of god which should never be questioned.

It's been 11 months and I still can't think of a better way to say it.

Hey shadz is this the moderate thing you were looking for?

Refuting and obliterating Republicon 'arguments' is like 'shooting fish in a barrel' - especially here on The OWS Forum but calling me out to your old post to express some affectation of umbrage over something or other, is really a very bad idea & will really only go one way .. with you getting even angrier at me, lol.

You'll only get very upset, cranky and insultingly belligerent (once again) when I point out to you that advocating for Democraps - especially that Wall $treet darling, Hitlary Clinton is de facto - to ''bend a knee to money and call it freedom.''

You seem to loathe me and what I say, yet request and demand my attention in order to validate or highlight your comments, posts and opinions. I afford you more respect than you do to me but I will guarantee that you'll get cranky fairly soon during any exchange here, lol & that then I'll have to get more 'neanderthal' at you too but this thread of yours encapsulates our positions very well, I think ..

Voting Dem is like wiping your ass factsy !!! Not really a subject for pleasant chit-chat after a dinner party but wtf is the option, right ?!! Of course voting for the Bat Shit Crazy Republicons is off the fkn scale for any reasonable 99%-centred people in The U$A ... but to just see The Corporate Bankster Controlled Democrap Party On-The-Hill .. as anything other than a tool and a voice of The Neoliberal, Neocon 1% is really a massive intellectual fail on your part & indicates a type of deep conservatism !

Democracy has got to engage the nearly 50% of people who don't vote & amount to more than turning out every 2-4 years for a bunch of bought and paid for & thoroughly co-opted Class Traitors - I suggest.

~

I have once expressed the view that being a 'Democrat in Arizona' may well make you the most 'radical' person for hundreds of miles but in the world at large bro' ... sorry to say it - but it ain't all that. Now the real reason for my reply :

Have you or have you not ever heard of or anything by - Thom Hatrmann ? That is a straight question but is as much rhetorical as it is actually pointed at you because I am Very Strongly Recommending both or either but most definitely one or the other of those two links above.

Now ask yourself where & what in Thom's TEDx talk etc. do we actually disagree. I keep trying to focus on our possible and probable overlaps and similarities, but you go ahead now and call me a ''GOP lover'' lol and try to annoy me with foolish insults - or conversely - you could actually surprise me if you like lol, tho' no further snide responses like the one linked to here please, where you simply tried to jumped into an existing exchange to insult me without reference to what else had been said there :

No waiting! Who's waiting for a messiah!? Not me! We are fighting to get our representatives to serve people, rather than corp oligarchs.

It's ok to lift up those people who speak to our needs, share our goals, & support our agenda. Right?

Protest, Vote, & protest again!

[-] 2 points by shadz66 (19985) 9 years ago

''Thomas Paine, Our Contemporary'', by Chris Hedges :

''We are fighting to get our representatives to serve people, rather than corp oligarchs.'' - Right ! ''Protest, Vote, & protest again'', yep and eyes on Independent, Labour & 99% focussed candidates !! All towards the aim of building a Mass Movement !!! To these ends - I strongly recommend the Hedges piece above.

respice, adspice, prospice ...

[-] 3 points by 99nproud (2697) 9 years ago

I urge all to vote based on how the candidates stand on the issues, & then of course protest, all towards the aim of correcting the economic inequity that exists in our corrupt economic/tax system that benefits corps over people. (Thats why we've JOINED, and intend to grow this mass movement)

The "aim" is correcting inequity! The means is the mass movement.

Right?

Hedges,& Paine are great,

[-] 0 points by shadz66 (19985) 9 years ago

''The "aim" is correcting inequity - The means is the mass movement'', Right !!! But - this will NEVER be delivered IF, JUST left to the two corporate money and bankster corrupted parties to deliver !! It will need the attention span of more than one or two or even three or four 'election cycles, ''right'' ?!

ad iudicium ...

[-] 1 points by 99nproud (2697) 9 years ago

Again you ask about the "two corporate money and bankster corrupted parties" & "election cycles".

Elections are the breaks between the real work of protest, coalition building, society consciousness moving, etc..

This current battle against corp oligarchs has been going on for decades, and will continue on as long I suppose.

Solidarity

[-] 1 points by shadz66 (19985) 9 years ago

I ask because it is an ongoing issue but in the main, I can agree with you & thus, I append in solidarity :

hard as it may be to read or absorb for some - it will still really reward a calm, cool and considered read.

How will it "really reward" anyone?

[-] 2 points by shadz66 (19985) 9 years ago

Fair question ! That article above will ''reward'' anyone with an open mind and soft heart, imo !! However, it will stick in any parDisan's throat and be like a 'splinter in the mind' of any right-wing Retard !!! As will this piece by Yves Smith of 'Naked Capitalism' :

fiat lux ...

EDIT : As to how ? By not being so subject to being deceived & deluded re. the level of Corporate Co-option and Corruption of the two 'political parties' & an insight into The 99% Politics needed in The U$A.

[-] 3 points by 99nproud (2697) 9 years ago

You specify who it will "really reward" but still haven't said how.

Do you know how?

[-] -3 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

a vote is a terrible thing to waste

The fish in that barrel took us to war in Iraq because people like you didn't vote for Gore, you are an idiot and a political hack bent on fluffing your own ego nothing more.

of course if we looked for a post from you that you actually worte, well we would be looking all day and never find it would we?

Money does NOT equal freedom. Poor people are not unfree because they are poor, they are unfree because libraries are not being built.

[-] 0 points by factsrfun (8310) from Phoenix, AZ 9 years ago

libraries?

[-] -1 points by HCabret2014 (-11) 9 years ago

Money isn't power. Knowledge is.
