Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren has built a 9-point lead over Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) in the closely watched Massachusetts Senate race, a poll released Wednesday shows.

The latest survey from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows Warren leading Brown among likely Bay State voters 53 percent to 44 percent. That's Warren's largest lead in PPP's polling and also a 3-point bounce from a week ago. Last week, PPP showed the Harvard law professor holding a 6-point lead over Brown.

Equally disconcerting for the Republican incumbent is his declining approval rating. Massachusetts voters are split when it comes to Brown's job performance in Wednesday's poll, with 46 percent approving and 45 percent disapproving. In last week's poll, 49 percent approved of Brown's job performance, while 42 percent disapproved. PPP's latest survey was conducted on behalf of the League of Conservation Voters, a group that has endorsed Warren.

The PollTracker Average shows Warren's lead growing to roughly 6 points.

"Now is the time to rebuild America's middle class. Instead of giving tax breaks to the already-rich and already-powerful, to the corporations and CEOs who have already made it, it's time America recognized the working people and small businesses who are still trying to build a future"

but don't expect her to give up any of her millions

[-] 2 points by mideast (506) 11 years ago

So you have proof that her charitavble contributions are zero ?

[-] -2 points by marvelpym (-184) 11 years ago

Choosing to pay the lower tax rate seems to me like she was giving someone already rich and powerful a tax break. If you are going to talk the talk...

[-] 1 points by zacherystaylor (243) 11 years ago

Her hypocrisy is more obvious when you take a closer look at her positions on many of the issues; in addition to the money she is making there is the fact that she has done her part to distort the perception of the economy on some issues like planned obsolescence sweatshop labor and gambling all of which she ahs given active or tacit support of by hiring lobbyists that represent these issues or refuting what she calls the "over consumption myth" or in more blatant ways like representing asbestos insurance companies.

However there is no sense in wasting any more time on the heritage issue which isn't related to issues.

You got a problem with the great soldier for the 99% Elizabeth Warren.?

[-] 0 points by Mooks (1985) 11 years ago

She is a great soldier for the 99% as well as a great soldier for the executives at Travelers Insurance. She can truly do it all! It must be the war paint.

""Warren admitted though that she voted for both Democrats and Republicans.

“There should be some Republicans and some Democrats,” Warren said.

But she declined to say whether she voted for Ronald Reagan in either his first presidential campaign or his reelection campaign.""

Try not to get too hyped up with someone who is thrilled to be part of the establishment. It has a way of sucking people in.

Ok. Thanks. You're so wise.

Thanks for the link; it is just another example of how they're running scams in both parties.

I can't believe all this crap I keep hearing about Elizabeth Warren being the champion of the 99%; after taking a close look at her it has become clear that she is just another trained politician that claims she's "not a politician" and is relying on the usual Democratic Party operatives to get the nomination with a minimum amount of opposition that was all chased away and she avoided many of the issues by not debating many other candidates. This silly discussion about her native history only plays into the hands of the corporations whether the people believe she lied or that she is the victim; either way the issues aren't being discussed.

Elizabeth Warren supports Charter schools; defends Asbestos insurance companies; hires gambling lobbyists for her campaign; refutes what she refers to as the "over consumption myth" and distorts planned obsolescence without actually using the words.

Except for one token issue She is not a "consumer advocate" at all she is just another representative of Wall Street which ensures they have both candidates in left and right pockets again!

I've been writing about this for months and it has been making me pull my hair out that she is relying on such a propaganda masterpiece. Here's the first and latest of these commentaries if anyone is interested.

I think you have the Warren - Brown charter school issue backwards

Approaches on education differ for Brown, Warren By SHANNON YOUNG Associated Press / September 16, 2012 BOSTON (AP) — When it comes to education policies, Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and his Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren both agree that improve public school systems need to be improved and college must be more affordable. But that’s where the agreement ends.

Warren, a longtime Harvard University Law School professor, has trumpeted affordable and high quality education as a key issue in her campaign ads and speeches.

‘‘Our kids are crushed by debt and they didn’t go on a shopping spree; they got an education,’’ she says in a campaign ad.

In the television spot, Warren urges Washington to financially invest in education, rather than focus on giving tax breaks to rich Americans.

She also believes in spending on early childhood education programs, school lunch programs and closing the achievement gap in public schools.

‘‘We need to see education as an investment in our future, from strengthening early childhood education programs to ensuring that college students aren’t drowning in debt after they graduate,’’ Warren campaign spokeswoman Alethea Harney said in a statement.

Brown has also spoken out against the current state of education, calling for changes to the No Child Left Behind law, greater transparency and support for charter schools.

Parents and students ‘‘should be able to see where a university spends money and how much the highest paid faculty members are making to increase competition and provide incentives to keeps costs low,’’ said Brown campaign spokeswoman Alleigh Marre in a statement.

Brown voted in favor of similar loan rate extension legislation included in a transportation bill, which was signed into law in late June, after opposing previous Democratic proposals to extend the low rate.

But while the two share similarities in some of their education policies, Brown has criticized his opponent, whom he often refers to as ‘‘Professor Warren,’’ for earning a hefty salary at Harvard, while speaking out against the cost of college tuition.

Warren’s campaign defended professor salaries, saying ‘‘there are a number of factors that come into play in determining the costs of tuition.’’

‘‘Scott Brown would rather attack Elizabeth than defend his votes to cut Pell Grants and allow interest rates to go up on student loans,’’ said Warren campaign spokeswoman Julie Edwards. ‘‘Attacking Elizabeth is not going to make college more affordable.’’

Both candidates are giving the public a bunch of fluff; the Warren campaign just seems to do a better job making it seem believable which it isn't as I found out when looking closer. If you had taken a closer look at the links that I provided I went into more details about how Elizabeth Warren is supporting Charter Schools too.

this was actually posted in detail in one of my commentaries in between but it was linked to in the latest one. It is about "Is Elizabeth Warren supporting Charter Schools not Unions?"

open.salon.com/blog/zacherydtaylor/2012/03/15/is_elizabeth_warren_supporting_charter_schools_not_unions

They both support Charter Schools and she was also a supporter of Arne Duncan and what he is doing in Chicago.

If you're not happy with what I wrote feel free to do your own research of course but I have no doubt that a closer look will raise serious problems with both candidates. Here's one of the articles i based my comments on, which is cited in the previous blog about Charter Schools.
