Libertarians always stress that it was going off the gold standard that set our decline in motion, but I have always thought it was Reagan economics. I still bemoan the fact that I was too young to vote in 1980.
I completely agree. The whole nation fell deep asleep after that election.... And during that sleep the cancer of deregulation (among many other diseases) crept deep into our bones). But miracles happen all the time. I believe this patient is destined for a miraculous recovery.
