Grocery prices are an arm and a leg ( probably some fingers in there too) quality is going down...food is not lasting to the expiration dates and chicken is being pumped with fluid to increase the weight (didn't that used to be regulated?) Veggies and fruit are green with mold two days after I buy it.

Meanwhile at Whole Foods...the rich are shopping with wild abandon where an average shop probably totals $500 dollars. But the food is gleaming with freshness...the meat is slime free. The lot is filled with Mercedes and the store is teeming with investment bankers / landlords / developers and their dush housewives who pay politicians to deregulate the crap they would like to feed us. The lines are friendly and quick and the cashiers will run back if you forgot an item. If I had to cashier there I would probably end up convicted of murder. Its like watching the crew on the Titanic serving caviar then going back to their station in steerage.

Meanwhile at my discount grocer by the time I make it through the store which resembles a zombie horde...wait in line to get to the line...search haplessly for fresh healthy food...getting shoved and prodded by frustrated shoppers ...the bill is still outrageously high and more than I can afford.

I'm thinking soon I may have to eat rice and beans to cut back. Arsenic and gas for me and the hubby.

Wages are still deflated...prospects are nil...prices are rising ever moar...and quite frankly I'm pretty pissed about the widening wealth gap...and sick of seeing these haughty assholes acting so superior and entitled...looking around at the common people like we are servants. Buy another suv queen dush...apparently filling that tanker is nothing but a sneeze to you.

I've been "sick of seeing these haughty assholes acting so superior and entitled" since the mid '60s when I was under 20!

Write ON!

Have you ever been out walking around enjoying the day...lost in thought and out of nowhere one of them comes up to you all pushy and demands to know where to find something or how to get someplace ...as though you are some plainclothed employee put there to service their needs. "Oh I'm sorry I work for another planet...but it's not your fault I'm out of uniform" (are those riding boots / yogalates pants for real or part of a costume that notifies the commoners of your status) ? Now Mrs Draper please let me get back to my thoughts on how to destroy wall street corporations and butterflies and whatever else it was before you presumed to call me subordinate.

If you have immigrants in your area, talk to them or tail them. They know as a matter of SURVIVAL how to buy that pound of vegetables at a nickel or a dime less. They have a kind of buddy network so plug in, too. Mentioning buddies, checking online gasoline prices before buying gas can save money but take driving distance into account by measuring with Google Maps or combine gassing up with other errands. There are gasbuddy.com and gaspricewatch.com. Take some, give some, and everybody (except the corporate pushers) becomes better off.

As for the stock prices shooting high, it takes very little real money to push a stock price high if nearly no one is interested in the stock. One enthusiastic buyer or manipulator can buy a round lot of stock by paying a high enough price as a dead-cat bounce which will jack up the wealth of the owners of the other gadzillion shares. 100 shares exchanged one dollar higher may produce new wealth of 10 million dollars if there are 10 million shares outstanding. That is the nature of the "wealth" - basically vaporware in essence unless more fools come along which usually takes a generation or so if the dead cat is widely known already as being dead.

"How the stock market is a sham for the working and middle class. 53 percent of Americans have no money in the stock market, including retirement accounts. 62 percent of all US wealth owned by top 5 percent."

"A Pew Research survey found that 53 percent of Americans own no stocks, including in their retirement accounts. And the fact that only 10 percent of Americans have pensions, many (most) are going to rely on Social Security as they enter old age."

"Most Americans don’t have any stocks to their name. In fact, many Americans don’t even have any savings to their name. Those 25 to 34 have a median amount saved for retirement in the sum of zero dollars. So this incredible amount of volatility has largely produced nothing for most American families."
