UN Arms Trade Treaty a Sinister Gun Control Ploy

UN Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty

27 July 2012 New York

The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) Conference is convening at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 2 – 27 July 2012. Negotiations will be conducted “to elaborate a legally binding instrument on the highest possible common international standards for the transfer of conventional arms.” Its stated objective is to regulate arms trade to the greatest degree possible; its sinister true purpose is global gun bans, and the disarmament of free peoples!

Have not yet seen the provisions of ATT, but am against any international agreement that cancels US constitutional rights and laws. And, the stealthy way this agreement is treated (like NDAA riders & TPTA), is of concern. Any trend towards "Globalization" or "New World Order", is a disaster for the 99% of the world.

sounds like an NRA Lapierre / ALEC rant
SPECIFICALLY
what American gun transactions to Americans will be "illegalized"

[-] -2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Limiting conventional arms trading is a good 1st small step in an effort to limit violent conflict around the world.

Don't worry about our constitutional rights. (only 2nd amendment rights in question anyway, none of the real ones). Lets focus on improving the odds of 3rd world citizens from avoiding gun deaths.

After all no one makes more money from worldwide conventional arms sales than USA. And I always hear it is one of our biggest exports.

World government based on direct democracy.!

the usa signed onto the vienna convention. part III, article 27 " a party may not invoke the provisions of its internal laws for its failure to perform a treaty" this treaty doesnt not have to be voted on by the senate. that means it over rides , supercedes and obliterates the 2nd amendment of out bill of rights. its means that the population of the usa wil be prohibited from owning guns. the only way is can be stopped is for reid to bring for a vote, he wont do that , the only other way is for a sitting president to renounce the treaty. obama will nevr do that because an unarmed country is easier to control.

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Oh well. I guess we lost our right to bear arms.

Whatta ya gonna do.?

[-] 0 points by salta (-1104) 11 years ago

the question is what are YOU going to do?

[-] 0 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

I don't live in fear boss. I can handle myself in NYC without resorting to gun ownership.

Good luck. Watch out someones under your bed, No their outside your window. They've come for your gun! Shoot 'em down,

"i loves ma guns" "I loves ma guns"

LMFAO

you live in nyc under the rule of nanny bloomberg. you lose.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

We aren't happy with nanny bloomberg either. but thats ok. he's one man. Our city is so fuckin great we are bigger than any one man.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Amen to that.

[-] 0 points by salta (-1104) 11 years ago

in that context,we ( the usa) are bigger than obama.

[-] 1 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Without a doubt.

Yet another paranoid pile of BS started by prisonplanet.

The home of Mr. P, and Alex.

I'm surprised they left off agenda 21, and the counsel of 300.

Or perhaps I just got bored and quit reading the crap.

[-] 1 points by salta (-1104) 11 years ago

if you don' think that agenda 21 is real, you're hopelessly naive

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

So is area 51 and Groom Lake.

So what's your point?

A great love of Alex Jones?

A hatred of the UN?

[-] -1 points by salta (-1104) 11 years ago

have you ever done a search for " agenda 21"?

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Yes I have and found mostly paranoid BS.

Have you done a search for area 51?

Same thing.

You're right. It is both which are interconnected, and we are not the only arms dealer, only the biggest.

But there can be progress as there was regarding poison gas,and landmines.

it's slow, spotty progress. but it's all we have.

Thx

[-] 3 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

Although I am proud of my Swedish heritage, I am not happy that they are the 7th largest arms dealer in the world

I suspect that is mostly due to the jet fighters that are made by Saab

[-] 2 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

No one is innocent. Swedish (and other northern countries) have much goin for them.

Just recently saw a graph of countries percent use of renewable energy and 4 of top 5 were northern countries. With Iceland being 100% (as you know)

Much we could learn from them on that and the best way to treat people.

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

There's tons we could learn from those Nordic countries

I visited a high tech nursery over there, and it was very impressive

My point though was no country is perfect

[-] -1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

As I concurred. This arms treaty is probably gonna fail, not enough coverage, too little interest/outrage.

but it is worth the effort to petition, protest, letter write, and phone.

Good luck to us.

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

Replying here. Believe it or not Vqkag, I have no hatred towards you

All i am saying is if you have had a metamophosis from the slime that you used to spew, i welcome it,

But now it is time to walk the talk

~Odin~

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

Well good luck with that.

[-] 2 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

In your not so illustrious tenure here, you have annoyed the shit out of good people including me who know what Occupy is about

And you have constantly tried to link us to the dems, and you have done so in some unscrupulous tactical ways, especially at a time when the moderators were partisan

~Odin~

[-] -1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

I disagree.

Put your hatred for me and my politics aside.

Occupy is about inclusiveness. Old grudges are tired and destructive.

[-] 0 points by frovikleka (2563) from Island Heights, NJ 11 years ago

All RESISTANCE is good, but our differences lie in you trying to make Occupy Wall Street into a 'petitioning of grievances' group

The fact that it did fail might prove that we should stay outside the rotten system

At best.... efforts by groups who play by the rules that they set out for us will get little or no progress, and never the sea change we need

Radicals will get radical change & those who play within the system will at best get little change, and most probably illusionary change

Case in point; The last 30 plus years

~Odin~

[-] 1 points by inclusionman (7064) 11 years ago

I never said, nor do i want "to make Occupy Wall street into a petitioning of grievances' group"

I acknowledge the radicalness of Occupy. I embrace it and I recognize we as a society need this radical group if we are to succeed at making the progress necessary to benefit the 99%.

You are mistaken about my intentions. i simply want to inform, and encourage action regarding the issues that occupy has taken a stand on.

A lot of "people" around here don't like me much, as I'm rather opinionated.......:)

Stick around and I'm sure your time will come.

Speaking of lists, here's one you can add. Bernie has just released a new and important one.

I think I'll start a new thread........:)

Sure seems like Bernie is the only one in office fighting for America - for the American People.

I wonder if his life is in danger?

I pray for Him.

I am not familiar with Leahy. Hell I am not familiar with much of the current members of the Federal Senate or Congress as they have done nothing notable - or if they have it has not been talked about. Most people take office and you never here from them again until the next campaign season.

Bernie is the best of the lot by far, and the people of Vermont loved him as a Congressman when I lived there.
