I want a United States of the World in order to give everyone everywhere the means to create democratic states whose laws promote freedom and love. I want to live in a world that values love above everything else. States that don’t work to eliminate scarcity and force citizens to live by unjust laws must go. Just laws produce freedom and freedom is a seed that can produce the flower of love in spite of the hundreds of obstacles that oppose its flowering. I want everyone, whatever their religion, to commit their lives to universal secularism. This secular development of religion denies that traditional religious experience can ever create freedom and love in the objective, political world. In the new world of united democratic states, politicians freely elected will become priests of secularism. I will gladly obey any laws they devise that prevents my behavior being hateful to my fellow citizens. Scarcity and violence have been at the origin of governments and laws of the past. In our time technology has given us the means to eliminate scarcity and to institute freedom by just laws. Love is the only sure and lasting weapon against violence and the politicians in the United States of the World will do only holy work. I am not afraid of being laughed at and ridiculed for creating a forum based on my idea of transforming the present United States of America to the United States of the World. It is easy for cowards to laugh and ridicule and hide behind practical modes of political and economic behavior that produce fetishized happiness for the few and real suffering for the many. Instead of laughing and ridiculing, they should try loving their neighbors. It works. Love produces love. Freedom produces freedom. Good governments produce good people and forces even bad people to act like good people. Conformity and conservatism are dangerous because they preach the acceptance of political systems that are obsolete and they conserve only the illusion of political harmony. I am not a brave man but I am brave enough to want to live only for freedom and love. Perhaps I may be able even to love those who laugh at and ridicule my idea to admit new states to the American union. My idea is revolutionary but it aims to continue a revolutionary political practice that has been going on since the foundation of the United States. Since then, over a period of more than 250 years, Congress has admitted 37 new states. Daniel McNeill Forum at www.usoftheworld.com Blog at www.usoftheworld.blogspot.com
