Hallo, I have to ask you for a lil favor... for my college I need to collect a list of top 10 social movements / hot ideas / underground / etc. trends in USA ( like ows, animal rights, ecology, anti-nuclear etc. ), can you please help nad post some here?

Might be nice to know what criteria you think should be used to qualify for the top 10. Actual achievement, size of its membership, ideals. Are you considering only current movements or influential ones back through the last century or so?
The following eight come to mind because of some measure of success each enjoyed. I leave it to others to add in their favorites and prioritize it to their liking.
Anti-war, Civil rights, Disabled rights, Environmental movement, Human Rights, Labor movement, LBGT movement, Women's movement.
