Forum Post: to support the 1% ▬► just DON'T vote

By now you've probably heard the news: Mitt Romney selected Paul Ryan as his running mate.

If you believe that billionaires deserve even more tax breaks, that abortion and some forms of birth control should be criminalized, that Medicare should be gutted, and that too many students are able to afford college, then congratulations: the Romney-Ryan ticket is perfect for you!

If not, watch out. Mitt Romney has once again caved to the extreme right of his party, choosing a Tea Party darling willing to push corporate America's agenda at all costs. Even Newt Gingrich called Paul Ryan's plan to end Medicare as we know it "right-wing social engineering."

Make no mistake: this is the Koch brothers' dream ticket.

We only have 87 days left before Americans go to the polls and make a choice about the direction of our country that will affect us for generations. And we're going to use every one of those days to make sure voters understand how dangerous the Romney-Ryan agenda is for all of us!

Can we make them leave when they lose?

[-] 1 points by NLake72 (510) 11 years ago

All we can do is make them so miserable that they decide to self-deport to their various tax havens. That's the tacit threat: If you don't cut us a better deal, we'll just move everything to China. That's what we're supposed to be afraid of. I say call their bluff.

The rich always have their boltholes.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Sadman Insane had a lovely bolt hole.

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 11 years ago

Unfortunately for him, it had a bottom.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Yeah - he kinda overlooked putting in a backdoor - Hey?

[-] 0 points by brightonsage (4494) 11 years ago

Well it was a network and networks have backdoors. How else would people be able to hack them? He just got hacked by a rope, and not in a very elegant fashion.

Karma caught up in a big time fashion.

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 11 years ago

Another way support the 1% is to vote for who they fund instead of the candidates that actually represent you

there are more options than who the tv says.

PRIMARIES ARE IMPORTANT

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Unfortunately the primaries are over and unfairly weighed against 3rd parties.

Let's vote and agitate for money out of politics, & election reform that can balance the scales for 3rd parties and real representation.

Let's also agitate for some initial testing (local level) for real direct democracy by setting up internet based voting for all citizens to weigh in on individual laws.

VQkag2 is a poser and paid political hack (liar for hire) and this post proves it:

It's the turnout thing. They think they almost have what they want.

Time to invest in Stupidity Index Futures?

[-] 2 points by brightonsage (4494) 11 years ago

They may well prove that money can't do EVERYTHING.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

I guess I should have asked - instead of can we make them leave when they lose - I should have asked - do you think they will renounce their citizenship and run for the nearest boarder?

Poor poor dog of mittens strapped to the roof again.

He's an A-1 jerk.

There's no doubt about that.

I think RP is a subject not wanted on this site - check the rules.

[-] 0 points by doitagain (234) from Brooklyn, NY 11 years ago

It OK to describe your opinion on the subject. the only RP problem is he saying truth. he should learn how to use poeitical poetry, that is all. stays silent and remain unshakable with corporate regulations

[-] 2 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 11 years ago

You have more power by voting than not voting. Write in who you really want. The vote for other than the big two sends the stronger message that you haven't given up.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

how much do the koch pay? do they pay more for voting for a third party vote that cant win?

[-] 0 points by doitagain (234) from Brooklyn, NY 11 years ago

we pays for the choices they made. It doesnt matter what did you wrote down to the tooth fairy. outcome has only two colors black and grey

follow koch's orders

Romney can't be any worse then the Obimination. As a matter of fact I would take my chances with Romney because at least he knows what a "balance sheet" is and how to read it and take action accordingly.

The Obimination doesn't.

[Removed]

[-] -2 points by SteveKJR (-497) 11 years ago

So tell me what did the Obimination have to do with the "balance sheet" of the banks other then hand over to them billions of taxpayer dollars so they could make billions in return.

Where is the billions being handed out to the average working person? There isn't any.

Too Bad - So Sad. {:[

[-] -3 points by SteveKJR (-497) 11 years ago

Yes it may sound hat way but one never knows so it's always better to keep an open mind .

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Ummm....sorry but I don't think that I want a compulsive psychopathic liar who freely lies about his lies in office - plus he is a known job out-sourcer - you can't get much more corpoRATist then that.

[+] -5 points by SteveKJR (-497) 11 years ago

Well, I would much rather give someone a chance to run our government who at least has an understanding of what a "balance sheet" is rather then the existing "social worker" who hasn't a clue as to what a "balance sheet" is.

Fine should we find an independent CPA ?
