more than $4.5 billion has shifted from big banks into the nation’s roughly 7,000 credit unions alone, according to the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Other economists share this view. “It’s largely symbolic,” says James Kahn, an economics professor at Yeshiva University in New York.

now that more people are aware of the issues i believe it's time for a new bank transfer day. i don't know how the original day came to be, but is there a possibility to do it again?

this should be one of the easiest things to do? the machine is in place, many people have transferred their accounts, and now many more people know about the issues and are linked to the "take action" sites.

help me out here. how do you get the online community to agree on a certain day?

I like this idea. I think the banks felt it last year, and I think they have great fear of it. I can't say I know how to "get consensus" here. but If I can help in any way I'm open to suggestions.

well it happened once before, so how did it happen? was OWS who put it in motion or where did it originate from? the take action sites have the emails, facebook, twitter and so forth on record so it should be easier on our end this time and more devastating on the other end.

the easiest way would be to use the machine that did it the first time. alternatively once a day is set we could approach all the different entities that were involved in the campaign before and have them spread the news with us and all the people we know.
