The sticker is underneath the battery. The IMEI # can be used to track the phone (& user) even without knowledge of the phone number or through phone number/sim card changes.
I brought this up with the NLG (National Lawyers Guild) table in NY's Washington Sq. on Saturday -- they argued that Central Booking would use PCs to get all the info off cell phones anyway, so my suggestion wasn't necessary. OK, but why make it easy for them? Make them go the whole ten yards.
A break down group on 'knowing your rights/interacting with the police' did endorse the idea however.
Any actual occupiers read this forum?
