A lot of idiots will talk about Obama and this event, if they talk at all. But people who know truth know that the Secret Service makes these calls, and would not have made this one without reason. This is chilling indeed. I wonder if those who said the crosshairs on websites had nothing to do with Tucson, think their words have nothing to do with this.

This is a big, big deal. To truly understand the mind of any military unit speak to the grunt. It was the grunts they were concerned with.

This really concerned me, I hope we can come down from this level of distrust, I believe the hateful speech we accept from those with authority, generals, senators, talk show people, just because they have a right to say something, it doesn't mean everybody else has to give up their right to call them crazy.

Given the penchant of our troops to commit suicide or go on killing sprees for various reasons I would think it makes sense.

Heck the Army apparently allowed a "mentally unstable" and/or "brain damaged" soldier to "walk" off base with a lethal weapon, massacre civilians and stroll back.

We had a soldier turned terrorist manage to cause a shootout at a base.

Yeah I would definitely want people who may potentially be like that to be armed to the teeth while they're around me... wouldn't you?

Not to mention most people in the military are more than a little pissed about continuing wars and prospects for even more wars. They stand to lose their lives while defense contractors and the construction contractors mint money.

I pray it hasn’t come to this, I was never the strongest supporter of my command structure, but you have respect, duty, honor.

If we just let people say whatever they want, because they got the right, where does it lead?

When did everybody else give up their right to call people who say dangerous and hateful things, dangerous and hateful?

I wonder if some of these shooters or high risk military personal are the "diaper heads" that enlisted into our military????

If we are to have a standing army, we must be able to trust it.

Of course why is this even discussed, anybody actually think that when anybody important comes to your town the local cop is allowed to be armed?

Hell fucking NO, its takes a 2 year security clearance to even get close to the POTUS or equivalent, and NOBODY is going to let some GI-JANE/JOE with real bullets near our God's.

Remember there are still 1,000's of Muslims in the US-Military that are deep and just waiting,

I think every body needs to understand that dis-arming soldiers and everybody is standard procedure.

Don't you folks understand the Praetorians? In the times of Rome on the Praetorians were to be trusted by the elite, and only they were allowed to be armed in their presence. This is old shit.

The rank and file Army people are only for killing un-armed villagers, and anytime any body important is around then everybody is dis-armed. Period.

It is not standard procedure this may be the first time. I guess it was the base commander that made the call, or so they say.
