By John W. Whitehead July 18, 2016 “A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty.”—James Madison

America is a ticking time bomb.

All that remains to be seen is who—or what—will set fire to the fuse.

We are poised at what seems to be the pinnacle of a manufactured breakdown, with police shooting unarmed citizens, snipers shooting police, global and domestic violence rising, and a political showdown between two presidential candidates equally matched in unpopularity.

The preparations for the Republican and Democratic national conventions taking place in Cleveland and Philadelphia—augmented by a $50 million federal security grant for each city—provide a foretaste of how the government plans to deal with any individual or group that steps out of line: they will be censored, silenced, spied on, caged, intimidated, interrogated, investigated, recorded, tracked, labeled, held at gunpoint, detained, restrained, arrested, tried and found guilty. On a day when the music died, a generation that had just landed on the Moon, was gunned down and wailed: Kent State Massacre -- got lost in space. It was not even an armed revolt. There was infiltrator inciting violence. Unprepared peaceable demonstrators got killed.

Go to a slaughterhouse and learn how animals are killed peaceably. "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight." - windy wisdom of 0

Mx. Cheese's corollary: "Peaceable demonstrators bring rocket-propelled-grenade launchers to a demonstration."

I'm so glad to hear that the U.S. government is so well prepared. We'll need it when the Big One hits Los Angeles. Gaia has cursed Alhambra and San Bernardino. No matter which one, Law and Order will be imposed better than when Katrina came, I hope.

Armed rebellion is futile but unarmed resistance is not. A little bit here and a little bit there at strategic trigger points will unnerve the eelites enough to start necessary reforms. It's a bit like bending a huge log - a little bit at a time with persistent pressure and steam.
