A west Florida pastor's daughter is clinging to life at a hospital after she was accidentally shot in the head by a church member who brought a gun to Sunday services. Pinellas County sheriff's officials say Hannah Kelley, 20, was struck in the head with a bullet after a gun that her boyfriend and two other men were handing in a closet at St. Petersburg's Grace Connection Church accidentally went off, local television WTSP reported.
Her father, Tim Kelley, is the pastor at Grace Connection.
Investigators say the Reuger 9mm belonged to church member Moises Zambrana. Zambrana was showing the weapon to Dustin Bueller, 20, who told him he was interested in buying a gun when he turned 21 next week, local Patch reported.

The two went into a closet along with another man to check out Zambrana's weapon when it accidentally fired a round. The bullet went through the closet wall before hitting Kelley.

Detectives say Zambrana had removed the clip, but had accidentally left a bullet in the chamber.

The shooting occurred after morning services, and about 40 people were at the church, according to local reports.

Kelley was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center, where she underwent emergency surgery on Sunday. She died as a result of this accident

"It does appear this was a tragic accident," a sheriff's spokeswoman told the Times.

Extremely stupid. Were they hoping God would protect them from their stupidity and lack of common sense?
