Forum Post: There Are Moments In Human History That Are Pivotal

Posted 11 years ago on May 1, 2012, 4:26 a.m. EST by GypsyKing (8708)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

In hindsight, as we look back over the course of human history, we can see particular moments were pivotal. Yet at those times people generally weren't aware of their real significance.

Most of us, even at the accelerated pace of modern life, live through only a few such moments and most of us are never able to participate in them, much less shape them.

Today is such a moment, and we are in the unique position of being cognizant of the fact. So all those who participate today in the call for human rights, over the rights of greed and tranny, should carry with them a sense of their moment in history and the dignity arising from the creation of such a moment.

We are reestablishing our own history. We are recreating a new spirit of global democracy through the legacy of our own past; revitalizing the vision of our countries founders and demanding that their vision, rather than the vision of an inhuman and totalitarian greed, become the light that guides the world.

May God be with us.

Nice post, GK. We should be cognizant of the fact that watershed periods in history often take years to come to fruition, and though that will likely be the case here too, the changes will be huge and everlasting.

The human spirit will prevail in the end.

I love it! Shadz posted this once, and I had never heard of them before. Thanks, I'll have to get a CD.

Take it to the streets. I really enjoy reading and joining in on discussions here on this forum, but what really needs to take place is more street ACTION. Regular action, starting now, and going on for as long as it takes to get the message out to every woman, child and man in the world.

We in Australia look like getting another "conservative" federal government (heaven help us all) and a certain mining magnate donor, (who paid zero tax last year) has said that he'll be putting his name on the ballot, like we really want to see that happen?

Keep it happening, people. This time is our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a real difference in the whole world. I don't care what deity you believe in, but God help us if we don't keep these wolves from turning the whole world into their private zoo, with all of us as inmates and slaves.

Stay strong, and think big. It's our time to thrive.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Thank you, I am still really in the dark about the outcome. I can't wait to know more.

Good luck to everyone out there on the streets today. Stay safe out there!

Happy May Day to you too Nevada, and thanks.

There are few opportunities in history to really make a difference because there are always so many differing opinions and ideas that prevent things from happening. There are millions of "us" and few of "them".

To make a difference we must impose the weight of millions of people on one problem. Take gas prices. Boycott Shell Oil for six months and see what happens. Go out of your way not to buy from them. There are other choices, just as bad, but Shell won't profit from it. To compete they may have to lower their price. Then switch to BP for six months. They (the fat cat CEO's) will get the message. ascot

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Yeah, we need that as well. There have been attemps here to organize boycotts, but so far probably nor coordinared enough, or with adequately defined parameters. I think we need to fine tune this.

I think I will celebrate May day by working. To the self employed, a strike is a little self defeating.

Far and away your most profound post to date, GypsyClown.

[-] -1 points by Yin7 (44) 11 years ago

I suggest you check yourself GyspyKing. You are more arrogant, proud, & entitled with every passing day. You will soon become the very thing that we are trying to change if you don't humble yourself. That is, if you haven't already. Even your name shows your growing delusional self worth. The use of the word god is so detrimental to this movement & shows a fake righteousness. You sound like & proud, know-it-all evangelist. You are killing this movement for me & many others.

[-] 0 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Well, somebody is anyway. I have no ego at stake in this. Neither will I be told by someone I don't even know that I have to "humble myself." It is you, not I, who apparently have an ego problem.

[-] 1 points by Yin7 (44) 11 years ago

Please, don't take my argument reverse it on me & expect me not to use your argument to reverse it on you. I humbly say check yourself. What are you afraid of? That I might have a small point? Would that be so bad? Wouldn't you be better for it, if you could open yourself up to a little criticism without immediately responding like an animal & being so self defensive? Life is a journey for everyone including, GypsyKing. It seems pretty ironic that you can critique the whole of the world, but a critique on YOU is met with such defense. "The unexamined life is not worth living," Socrates

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

I am more "arrogant, proud and '"entitled,"" every day? It's called Freedom of Speech. Get used to it!

I love that word "entitled." So you get to judge who's "entitled," or who wants "entitlements?"

Let me tell you something friend, it's Rupert Murdoch who's "entitled."

You might think about that.

[-] 1 points by Yin7 (44) 11 years ago

I am used to freedom of speech. Are you? I do agree, that Murdoch is more entitled when compared to others. However, entitled is losing its intended context. I meant it as only as a forum attitude displayed here because I know nothing about your life & being outside of this forum. Please, accept my gentle reminder as love & not as a threat. I am sorry if I came across that way. Peace, Love, & Humility for All.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Wow, 5 days to come up with that nuanced response. Well, I hope you mean it. Your comments were offensive.

Failure to defend means subjugation. Criticism is not an automatic pass as altruism is not an automatic or guaranteed motive for criticism. Blind acceptance is just that - blind.

[-] 1 points by Yin7 (44) 11 years ago

Dude, get a grip & take your own advice & open your eyes. This movement can easily turn into what it is trying to change. It should not be blind to this FACT & defensive about this very serious problem that GK is displaying. It is friendly advice that is meant with great defense that should be making us think more about twist of fates that kill movements turning them into the very thing in which they are trying to change. Remember, blind acceptance is just that- blind.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Try to push issues - not people. Issues is where common cause and unity are to be found. Issues will see the way forward for all. The way Forward In ALL Issues is Health and Prosperity for ALL.

[-] 1 points by Yin7 (44) 11 years ago

Good advice. Thank you. But with one caveat, sometimes people need to be pushed in order to learn & grow or else we would never grow up. There is a season for everything. I don't want to see this movement fade away like all the others with little changed.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Me either - that is why enlightenment comes with dealing with the issues.

Yin find your Yang and be whole. This I stress to anyone who will listen. You must be Whole.

Unity common cause are our way forward - this should be seen as our goal.

"Today is such a moment..."

stop lying to yourself. today is not such a moment, not even close.

and the sooner you face reality, young man, the sooner you'll get off your ass and get a job and take responsibility for yourself.

[-] 3 points by XenuLives (1645) from Charlotte, NC 11 years ago

What makes you think that we don't have jobs?

I am sure Cuba thought Castro removing Batista was going to be a positive move. I wonder what a Cuban would say to destroying the greatest engine the world has ever known for prosperity and freedom for an unknown outcome.

[-] 4 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Prosperity and freedom for who? Not us. Not at least since Reagan was elected.

[-] -3 points by toonces (-117) 11 years ago

You must not have been there. Prosperity and freedom until around 2004.
