That's right - it is the X and Y generation that is the most violent genertation in this country. Who's doing all the killing - it sure as hell isn't the Boomer generation.

We are in a crisis situation with regard to todays violent society - don't you agree?
I sure as hell don't remember kids being killed in schools by young adults in the past that would make the news like it does today - do you?
Doesn't that tell you that something is wrong with todays "youth" and "violence"?

Well, to expand on what Notaneoliberal posted, the data does not support your claim.
I believe the increase of media saturation into our daily lives has just made it seem more violent. it's not happening more. You are just hearing about it more than before.
And even if there has been an uptick in violence, I believe it to be attributed to the lack of opportunity in America. So once shit gets back to normal or every one adapts to the new normal, if be, violence will subside like it has been for awhile now.
I think increased media coverage is a result of more of the violence happening. Drugs and murder go hand in hand - youth violence when it comes to crimes of rape and homicides have also increased.
I know the news media likes to sensationalize to get their ratings up but if it wasn't going to get them better ratings they wouldn't report it.
I haven't looked at the stats of the 60's, 70's or 80's but I will be willing to bet if you compare all the violence stats - rape, homicide, drug violence, etc. there is a dramatic increase.

Every form of violent crime has decreased, and decreased dramatically, since 1991 - a year in which most generation X'ers were just coming into adolescence and today's youth were just being born.

I've seen some of these from two parent homes, but the parents allowed them to collect knives, guns, get in trouble with law, and keep giving them more guns, trying to be their friend, not a parent
What you say is true - trying to be their best friend is no way to raise a child. Allowing them to own firearms without keeping aware of what they are doing is wrong.
