Wow, talk about news worthy..

I was devastated to see the 3 shows on TV, listed below. I am extremely saddened by what the leaders, our House of Representatives, Congress and Senate and our financial leaders are systematically destroying this wonderful country of ours, the USA, because of insane greed. Each show has been aired at different times but to see all 3, at once, was devastating.

There has to be an answer to these sweeping injustices. I implore the help of an organization like yours or even a partnership of organizations, greater than just little ole me.

Someone, somewhere, may have an answer to flood our media to let the politicians and financial leaders know we are watching and will NOT accept this practice of destroying our USA. Examples may be, emailing petitions or maybe emailing these 3 links to all our leaders, may be excerpts from the shows below put in a short format to flood the current new medias. Please HELP!!! I am not well versed in the new medias. I cannot stand by and watch any longer.

Please review these 3 news shows, they are approx. 15 minutes long. Just taking these 3 issues into account, we can easily see the direction of our country.

The most important thing this movement could do is break the cycle of legalized bribery we currently have. Here's my 2 cents:

There are a lot of improvements that need to be made. The list reforms people Americans want to see is long and varied depending on who you talk to. That said, I believe there is one reform that would provide the American people the best chances of seeing other meaningful reforms actually happen - that is REAL, loop-hope free CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM! I have seen others on this site calling this the "fulcrum" or pivotal issue. Right now the current legalized bribery, pay-to-play system of campaign donations and paid lobbyists has disenfranchised the American voter. Until this is fixed, any other reform the politicians may try to placate us with (be it a change to healthcare, clamping down predatory school loans, new financial regulations, etc.) will be about as effective as a farmer putting a new roof on his CHICKEN COOP, but still letting the FOX guard it.

We need to go back to the original political currency. Instead of the current system of who can collect the most money from corporations and special interests it should be who has the BEST IDEAS to EFFECTIVELY RUN THE COUNTRY (we don't need "Wealth Redistribution," what we need is "Political Influence Redistribution")!

For the sake our our children and future generations of Americans, we need to take back our democracy from the rich and powerful who are using their vast sums of money to "speak" as if they represent millions of Americans. This "Corporate Personhood" that has crept into our laws is allowing them to manipulating our policies in their favor at the expense of the average American (the recent "Citizens United" Supreme Court ruling is a miscarriage of justice and must be reversed. The $50 or $100 a normal American may give to a political campaign becomes meaningless when corporations or other special interests are handing our millions to buy political access to the decision making process.

For decades now the corporations and special interests have had our "representatives" bought and paid for (both on the right and the left). Concentrating our efforts on getting the money out of our politics is the best way we can create an environment in which further reforms can be realized. Until we end the current system of legalized bribery (campaign donations) and paid lobbying our politicians will continue to be the LAP DOGS of the corporations and special interests. What we need first and foremost is real, loop-hole free CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!!!! If the corruption is not dealt with first, the chance of any other meaningful reforms becoming a reality is almost zero - the special interests will just use their money to buy votes and put forward bills that create loop-holes or otherwise twist the law in their favor. If we want our children to live in a country where there vote matters, we need to get the money out of our politics, otherwise they will increasingly become the 21st century version of the "landless peasant." Spread the word - End the LEGALIZED BRIBERY!!! CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM needs to be THE main goal of the protests!!!

LSN45, its looks like u got the right idea. U are so right on and offered a possible resolution as well. Do u know of any organizations or petitions that are working on the 'Campaign Finance Reform' issue?

No need to review, I've seen them. They're too easily dismissed, I think, by the old guard. The rot started from the top, I'm afraid.

The Supreme Court has been hijacked by die hard conservatives who apparently can't see economic disaster coming any more than Bernie Madoff could. Citizens United is stupid law on almost every dimension.

Obama came to office thinking he could rely on so-called 'experts', often those who engineered some of the worst financial excesses of late, despite being repeatedly advised to do the opposite by those of us looking for real change. I've never seen anyone in public office who is a better candidate for falling on his sword than Obama.

The House is being held hostage by a bunch of economic Luddites who think coddling the rich is going to result in happy days, and our media is no more trenchant than Pravda was back in the days of the Soviet Union.

There are no pretty options left.

Awesome posts...You ALL make excellent points. It would make a huge difference it the ideas you ALL had petitions covering your points of view and our leaders passed them. I wish a big organization or media would run with these changes. Im just glad to see there are others that see our problems and are taking the time to speak up. I sent several letters to media, political reps and signed several petitions. Maybe someday again this will be a country of 'We, the people'.

Save our system of government. There are steps that we can take. The current "Government" is not actually the legitimate government of the The United States of America, but a Corporation created by the 41st congress. The following is the best site that I have found which explains exactly how this happened and what we can do about it. http://www.teamlaw.org/ I normally do not provide links to other sites and prefer, instead, to use my own words but this topic is so huge that I feel it is appropriate to provide a link to a source of greater knowledge.
