Do you know what the ACA penalty really is?
If you do not buy the ACA "mandated" insurance,
the ACA will add an amount to your income tax bill.
And the ACA very carefully spells out the financial and criminal
penalty for not paying this additional amount with your tax.
The ACA specifically states the penalty -
for NOT paying ACA "tax"
The ACA states it is exactly nothing!
There are many states which mandate paying an uninsured motorist "fee" for those who do not have motor vehicle insurance, and for very good reason. People should not have to pay the cost of a individual who has the audacity to drive without motor vehicle insurance when such an individual gets into an accident. To those nuts who think having health insurance is not in their realm of responsibility, how should levying a "fee", "penalty", "tax" or whatever you want to call it upon person not having his health insured be any different?
And to those lefties (like me) who would like to see single payer insurance, can we think Obama-care as a transition, and go on from there.
There are so many other bad and stupid things Obama and the rest of the government are doing these days, like dropping bombs on innocent people in the Middle-east, why are we bothering to perpetuate an already too worn bitching about what is essentially a good thing.
In my opinion, it is just another example of them dropping a few crumbs for a starving public.
But yes, it pales in comparision to the bombs we are dropping. Maddow did a scathing report last night on the 300 bombs we have dropped on Pakistan and nearly 5k innocent people dead,
Can you imagine a 20 something with student loan payments stretching out years into the future and then tell him Obama is going to take another 10% for medical insurance he wouldn't normally have purchased for another 10-15 years? It's on the backs of these young people that Obamacare will provide for the uninsured..
Wonder when the first increase in premiums will happen? :)

It's a matter of opinion really, either way, it is money you pay if you decide your super human and don't no damned health insurance or care. So you pay less than you would if you were more responsible and thought your health was important enough to cover. But, hey, maybe they are smarter than me and can read the future.

It's still a tax, even if I am giving it to your insurance company friends. I have the choice of either paying a tax, or paying a tax.
