Two prongs to this suggested legislation.

  1. Indexing the minimum wage for inflation
  2. Index retail markup to national wage average

If you can find materiel on indexing markup to wages, please post it on this thread. Thus far I can only find markup limits in the ACA for medicare payout.

I wish Occupy would address this already. Dems have gone to sleep for so long on the MW that we need to index it. MW should be between 11-15 bucks an hour. You have to consider the wide disparity in cost of living across the country. I've heard people in NYC say 20 an hour but the cost of living there is far from the norm. I say $12.50.

Wages are only one aspect. As we both know, without price controls, the increase in wages is simply passed onto the consumer which is also the wage earner, leaving a zero gain.
