Reagan started the propaganda machine that blamed every nation ill on evil govt. Every year since, this machine was churned up a notch. This was done by the 1 % who benefit from GOP control. The truth is that most who vote GOP do not understand what they really stand for with regards to Economic matters. This is revealed in poll after poll. People who identify themselves as conservative, continually provide a liberal response to specific issues. For instance, most polled said college should me more subsidized for the middle class. Most do not want Medicare abolished. Most do not want weaker environmental laws. Businessweek did a survey and found that most people identifying themselves as conservatives felt the wealthy should pay higher taxes. Paul Krugman recently revealed a survey that showed most people who are against "liberal big govt" collected Medicare and Social Security and actually did not understand they were govt programs. Many union voters polled actually did not know that the GOP is anti union. Faux, Rush, Glenn Beck, ...have done a good job getting people to believe the ridiculous.

The whole GOP agenda favors the wealthy. They don't even try to hide it anymore.

today's GOP is not the GOP we used to know... the GOP used to care about this country ... used to care about investing in the growth of the economy and the Nation ... today's GOP are extremists .. who will do and say anything that might make themselves believe that they are a piece of the rich upper class ... they are in denial

Occupy Congress period! Who cares what party they belong to If they don't represent us, kick them out and replace them with people who do. To hell with parties! They only divide us. They become strong as we become weak.

Don't we all have to admit some truths that are true for both R & D:

1) They both rely on corporate dollars for campaigns.

2) Money has corrupted them both.

3) Right wing entertainers are paid by right wing interest groups to put out talking points.

4) The government and the Economy are like turning a battleship and takes years notice the changes.

5) We live in a Mixed Economy in a Limited Republic. This means that must of us grew up pretty used to the idea of social safety nets like food stamps, medicare, medicaid, and social security. We would miss these programs if the puppet masters get to dismantle them.

6) If the social safety net is dismantled, I wouldn't give you a plug dollar for the life of any of the rich elite puppet masters.

7) Myth: That government got too big. The only thing that really seems to have gotten bigger is the defense budget and the prison budget and the war on drugs.

8) Neither the Dems or the Repubs have tried to keep wages up for the middle class. It is a strategy which includes allowing in cheap labor over our borders to bring down wages.

9) Both Dems and repubs know that taxes for the rich have come down that that lobbying has allowed the privilaged to avoid or escape the real tax rate. When was the last time you saw a tax teaching session from a politician.

10) we send rich people up to Washington DC to work. When was the last time you saw them work? They spend time campaigning, but the truth is they aren't news makers. They don't pass any legislation. They don't bother to even pass budgets. They don't even perform their real duties like declaring war. Rich people are always working some selfish angle out of self interest.

11) Both Dems and Repubs knew the manufacturing was leaving the US and they all knew the implications. They get better information than we do and they have better experts. They didn't do anything to save the Middle Class. And they didn't do anything to create an environment where talented or inventive people can start businesses. They have done one thing: They let this country get dumb and the Federal Department of Enducation Failed to Act in an Effective way to fix text books, the text book industry, or to prevent a growing lower class that is less informed and less educated.

If the GOP serves only the 1% how do you explain the MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of people that have voted republican,,, and by the way,,,, enough to get the majority of the House? Everyday people like the American way of life not just the rich. There are not enough RICH to cast the number of votes need to get elected. You are VERY WRONG.

LOL. Into my trap. Republicans Have Controlled the House for 1 Year & 53 Days. They Have Created 0 Jobs & Voted to Kill Over 7 Million Jobs. BAM!

If no jobs have been created, why has the unemployment rate been slowly dropping?

What did Republications vote against that stopped the creation of 7+ million jobs?

It's called the Stimulus package. It would have created more jobs, but your boys put a stop to everything new. But even though it was too small, the stimulus bill stabilized the economy, saved and created millions of jobs, and helped the conditions the market needed to begin, slowly, working again.

oooOOOOOOhhhh. And YET, obama is saying the economy is turning around. I guess you have not gotten that memo. (and YOUR Senate has been in controll for much longer and has FAILED to present a "BUDGET" for a vote for over 1,000 DAYS. Interesting how you fail to see that)
