So you're saying it's all right for me to plan a crime as long as I can point to someone that has gotten away with something worse?

[-] -1 points by gestopomillyy (1695) 11 years ago

of course it is. that called precedent

[-] 0 points by MsStacy (1035) 11 years ago

So in your view non-violence is just a term to toss around, it's meaningless because you can point to violence in others? Why bother trying to change things then? Any new order will follow precedent and become corrupt too.

[-] -2 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

Didnch know all of the 99% are perfect angels
just like you

[-] -1 points by MsStacy (1035) 11 years ago

No one is a perfect anything, but if you're going to profess non-violence you shouldn't drift into these relativistic comparisons. The attempt to blow up a bridge was wrong, no one else's actions have anything to do with it. There is no way to make this particular group right or moral.

Who provided the bomb, and the plan for these doofuses? Oh, that would be their friendly neighbourhood fbi plant.

End of story, except for the fact that if the plant had any kind of skillset happening, we wouldn't be hearing all about it now.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Obvious.

How much has the Democratic Party paid you to pollute this forum with 7,244 points worth of co-optation propaganda, GypsyClown?

Those things are for the lawyers to work out at trial. At what point does entrapment begin? Was this plot an FBI idea or not? Who brought up the idea for a bomb?

Those arguments are not relevant for Occupy. It's a mistake to offer up any mitigation for these five. They are either "doofuses", as you say, easily misled by the FBI, or they favor violence. Either way the accused violent action should be denounced. After all the efforts made to gain public support, why throw it away by making excuses for these five?

[-] -2 points by toonces (-117) 11 years ago

I get it. Planning to blow up infrastructure is okay as long as it furthers your goals.

Tea Party= peaceful

OWS=mob tactics and violence

Glad to see you have clarified the situation for me.

[-] 2 points by VQkag (930) 11 years ago

OWS is a non violent group. Isolated incidents do not define us. The 10s of thousands of peaceful protesting are the measure. OWS = peaceful, compassionate, 99% supporting progressives. Tea Party= angry, selfish, big corp/ big oil supporting right wing exremists

[-] 1 points by JenLynn (692) 11 years ago

Then OWS should be quicker to respond to an incident of violence and condemn it. Instead the forum fills up with excuses and rationalizations.

[-] 3 points by VQkag (930) 11 years ago

T condemn violence. the vast majority of OWS condemn violence. Thats the reality. You see only what you want (the bad).

[-] 1 points by JenLynn (692) 11 years ago

I see what gets posted. People here making excuses for those guys accused of trying to blow up that bridge. It doesn't matter what the tea party is, it only matters what occupy is. If excuses are made for the guys in Cleveland and nothing is done about black blocs then occupy has to do something to stop the move toward violence.

[-] 1 points by VQkag (930) 11 years ago

tens of thousands are peaceful. A few are not. We condemn them. Done

[-] 1 points by friendlyopposition (574) 11 years ago

VQ - you're slipping. You forgot to end each of your posts with SUPPORT OWS!

[-] 3 points by VQkag (930) 11 years ago

Suport OWS. Support peaceful protest.!

Apparently not. You have rapes and murders and looting and vandalism and disregard for laws and bomb plots....

... and they speculated the Tea Party was violent....

[-] 1 points by VQkag (930) 11 years ago

Your focusing on a tiny fraction. not representative of the vast majority of OWS attendees.

[-] 0 points by toonces (-117) 11 years ago

Not such a tiny fraction judging by the video of OWS smashing business windows and mobs camped in public parks crapping on cop cars and trashing public property. Looks like a trashy mob with violent and vandal tendencies. Just what it looks like to me.

[-] 1 points by VQkag (930) 11 years ago

tens of thousands are peaceful, small handful are not.

Notice the Tea Party participants were very quick to tell the man No, no,no! On the other hand, OWS supporters (you) are quick to defend the OWS bridge bombing plot.

[-] 2 points by XenuLives (1645) from Charlotte, NC 11 years ago

I'm not defending anybody. Nobody on this forum is defending those guys. I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy that you like to show for any group that you don't like.

BTW all Christians are pedophiles, because some priests somewhere diddled with little boys.

[-] -2 points by toonces (-117) 11 years ago

I notice that rank and file "Christians" (actually, Catholics) were quick to denounce, rather than make excuses for the Priests behavior. OWS leadership wanted to cover up their connections so it wouldn't be a problem.
