Forum Post: Take a Hard Look at Greece, the Republicans have the Same in Mind for Us!

All we have to do is replace Obama. ... We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don't need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. ... We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don't need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.

It's scary. 3 of the greatest threats to this nation

1: Corporate Influence on the government.

2: The powers held by the Federal Reserve and the "Big Banks"

3: The GOP

"Could the threat to our national sovereignty be any clearer? Let's take our freedom back from the Fed." - Dennis Kucinch

"Is this the US congress or the board of directors meeting for Goldman Sachs?"

HR 2990 is the biggest step to ensuring freedom reigns and our country prospers.

I have posted some of Dennis Kucinich's fight to liberate Americans from the one-percent. It is unfortunate that he is ignored by the media. Keep up the good fight, Trev.

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 12 years ago

Got that right!

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 12 years ago

We will be able to call it "The Sacking of the USA".

1) The Loss of the Social Security System.

2) The Loss of the Medicare System.

[-] 1 points by FriendlyObserverB (1871) 12 years ago

what is the Ryan budget ?

[-] 2 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

In it's original version it gave tax breaks to the rich and scrapped medicare for a voucher system. Surprised you haven't heard of it :0 It was so unpopular that Democrats started running against it to beat Republicans. The media (propaganda machine) tried its best to paint it as bold and innovating, but that just showed everybody how corrupt the media is. They have since put lipstick on that pig in a revised version.

[-] 0 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

Did you leave out all the detail because you don't know, or because you wanted to make a point that the full story wouldn't allow?

And this may be news to you, but the rich own the demcocrats every bit as much as they own the GOP. Don't be so gullible. I like Rachel Maddow too, but she's just as full of shit as hannity or limbaugh is.

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

My version is short but accurate. You're free to present your own.

[-] -2 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

It isn't accurate. The tax cuts for the rich were offset by closing loopholes. It was designed to be a wash. You didn't know that?

You also implied the media is a propaganda machine for right wingers like Ryan. Need I even comment on that?

LMAO!! It's amazing that some adults still cling to the moronic notion that there is some sort of profound difference between the dems and the reps.

The biggest difference is the lies they tell on tv. But suckers keep falling for the free-shit-for-votes scam and keep electing the same old d-bags. Unreal. When will people grow up and understand, at the very least, that nothing is free. Nothing.

If this ows movement had a scintilla of credibility it wouldn't be occupying wall st it would be occupying DC. but this is a left wing mob and the president is a leftist and the senate is majority leftist so we all know that wont happen.

And down the toilet of irrelevance goes the whole movement. Shame, it could have amounted to something.

[-] 2 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

It has amounted to something despite all the lies, deceptions and misinformation from the right and the corporate media.

[-] -2 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

Yes, it has amounted to a once-promising movement ruined by 9/11 truthtards, rampant anti-Semites, and complete incoherence.

IOW, nothing.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 12 years ago

You're Right there is no difference between republicans or democrats and some say no difference with the politicians that are libertarian (since they too are politicians).

But, never underestimate the number of heart-broken or brain-broken people that are feed up with politicians. I've been leaning toward Ron Paul since he is not Obama and Not Republican.

But we just need more protests and more ideas for cornering or putting elected officals under public control.

[-] -1 points by BlackSun (275) from Agua León, BC 12 years ago

And there it is.

[+] -5 points by foreeverLeft (-264) 12 years ago

The Republicans will never let us get in as bad shape as Greece. Less free shit for you though.

[-] 5 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

You're kidding, right? Have you looked at the state of our middle class. Have you listened to the propaganda machine. They won't raise a penny from the wealthy. They are the party of regression and division and their followers are either morons or they're rich. They would be dead as a party if they weren't hooked up to a life support system that feeds them pure money.

[-] 2 points by notaneoliberal (2269) 12 years ago

Absolutely right, austerity is on their menu. The economy isn't crashing fast enough for them.

[-] 4 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

They are already blackmailing us with outsourcing. They are blackgaurds and gangsters and they need to be stopped.

[-] 2 points by notaneoliberal (2269) 12 years ago

Yes, outsourcing is one of the most effective tools in the neoliberal agenda It still amazes me that the 1st part of the group you mention, the morons, continue to vote against their own self interest.

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

That's why Obama keeps trying to get money for education. Haha.

[-] -2 points by BlackSun (275) from Agua León, BC 12 years ago

I posit that you are the brainwashed one. Gods below you Marxists make me retch.

[-] 2 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

That's it, throw out those loaded words like you've been instructed. That's a good little propaganda tool. And I think you were wretched long before you ever learned about Marxism.

[-] 0 points by BlackSun (275) from Agua León, BC 12 years ago

Wonderful comeback.

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

Thanks. Not many people use the word "posit" anymore. I like people with large vocabularies. English was my major at one time.

[-] 0 points by FriendlyObserverB (1871) 12 years ago

A cap on sales profit would reduce outsourcing.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 12 years ago

Think about a 1% Tariff on all imported goods for a while.

[-] 0 points by JuanFenito (847) 12 years ago

Are you speaking of republicans or democrats? I think it applies to both.

[-] -3 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

If they just keep spending more money we'll all be fine. It's just our children and grandchildrens money, so why not strap it on them?

[-] 2 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

You have that propaganda down pretty good. Too bad it ignores American History. The rich have never paid less in this country than they are right now. Wealth disparity is at the highest it's been. Yes, you have to spend money on infrastructure and education and agencies to insure clean air and water and food. And you do it for our children and our grandchildren. Don't accept false choices, Kirby, and do your best to fight that brain slug the right wing machine has planted in your head. Join the human race in the good fight against tyranny! We could use every able-bodied man and woman.

[-] 0 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

There was a time when the top 10% paid even more than 70% of all income taxes? Really? When was that?

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

That number isn't relevant because it depends on the inverse relationship between the wealthy and everybody else. If income disparity is huge, which is not good for any country or society, then even a flat tax results in the wealthy paying a huge percent of the income tax. The number just serves to illustrate the extent of the income disparity.

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

income disparity

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

All fixed :)

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

wealth is better

[-] -1 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

The number isn't relevant (according to you) because you can't refute it. Nice try at spinning it, but no.

People in the bottom of that top 10% are not even close to rich (I say this from personal experience--I work 5-6 days a week).

Your left wing talking point is bullshit. Be an adult and just admit it.

[-] 2 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

It's simple math. Are you that stupid or just pretending to be? Let's make it simple for the children. If ten people in a society of one-thousand make 20 million dollars each and each pays 10% of his income in taxes that would be 20 million dollars. Now, if everybody else made say 5 thousand dollars each on average and payed 10% of their income that would be 990 x 500 or roughly 5 million dollars. Wow! Looks like the top earners are paying a lot more of the total income tax. And what does that number really tell us here except how wide the income disparity is. Think before you post.

[-] 1 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

Blah blah blah...nice try at spinning it further, but no.

You said "the rich have never paid less in this country than they are right now" and you're wrong. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. You're wrong.

But like most people of your ilk you can't handle that so you double down and make a bigger ass of yourself.

Reality: look into it.

[-] 0 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

OK, I get that you're a typical right wing Troll. Or maybe slizzo is the name of Kirby's brain slug. Either way, you're not worth talking to. Go somewhere and deny science or whatever else you do for kicks.

[-] 1 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

Right. Anyone who disagrees with you or points out your errors MUST be a troll. What a joke. Nice job proving the stereotype to be true. You weren't told you wrong too often growing up, were you? You played games with no score kept, didn't you? You were told 1+1=3 if you feeeeel like it does. Reality bites when you've been sheltered from it for so long, huh? Too bad.

"denying science" -- yeah, must be why I'm an atheist, ya dope.

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

slizzo, I'm not the lonely hearts club. You couldn't grasp simple math or, more likely, you chose not to. At that point it's no longer a conversation. slizzo = zero credibility.

[-] 0 points by slizzo (-96) 12 years ago

No, you're the lonely brain cell club. If only you had another to keep that one company.

You made a statement, it was wrong. Deal with it.

Oh, and be sure to keep replying 3 messages after declaring me not worth talking to. Does wonders for your, ahem, credibility.

[-] 0 points by FriendlyObserverB (1871) 12 years ago

some people just won't go away ..

[-] -2 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

Just keep on spending more and we'll be fine. Strip the money away from the "rich" and we"ll be alright. It's very simple math.

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

Austerity's the answer, right Kirby? Well, maybe I'm wrong...it might be too late for you.

[-] -1 points by HitGirl (2263) 12 years ago

Here's some simple math for you: Rich guy Bob buys TV station and hires rich guy Rush to fill your head with propaganda. Meanwhile their rich-friend governor Bill (who rich guy Rush told you to vote for) is privatizing your utilities which will soon be owned by rich guy Bob who will soon be charging you even more to listen to rich guy Rush. OK...maybe it's not a math lesson, but you get the general idea.

[-] -2 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

Sorry HG. You make no sense to me whatsoever on that one. Maybe you're of the young generation that was taught "new math". Obamas budget is DOA, so they say. But the repubics will cave and give Mr. Obama whatever he wants. They always do.

[-] 1 points by Middleaged (5140) 12 years ago

Have your heard of:

1) Grover Norquist (Makes his living off the Peoples Taxes - by lobbying for tax cuts for the Rich)

2) Right Wing Think Tanks (Spend on Defense and War, cut and steal Social Security Trust Fund).

3) Neoliberal Think Tanks (free trade, globalism, outsourcing, offshoring, No Tariffs for imported goods, Tax Holiday for Offshore Profits, financialization of commodities, markets will balance themselves, no market intervention).

4) Neocons (Got us into 7 wars and working on 8).

5) Wisconsin, Ohio, Governors
