DFA members are walking into Mitt Romney's campaign headquarters in Boston right now. They're delivering over 224,000 petition signatures from DFA and MoveOn members from across the country calling on Romney to release his tax returns.

The best part? We invited the press.

Romney's been getting hammered on this for weeks -- and his campaign is in complete meltdown over the issue. They've tried every trick in the book to change the subject and distract from Romney's tax returns.

We can't let them do that. We need to keep the pressure up. Mitt Romney is hiding something -- something so big so that he's willing to get beaten up by the press for weeks to keep it under cover.

This week has been devastating for Romney. More than half a dozen Republicans and right-wing media outlets came out against him -- demanding he release his tax returns and clarify exactly what he was doing with Bain Capital from 1999 - 2002.

Romney's tried everything to change the subject. He did a round-robin of cable channels to try -- but all he got was questions about Bain.

His campaign tried leaking names from his VP shortlist the press -- but the questions about Bain kept on coming.

Now he's trying to shrug the whole thing off. But don't let him fool you. This could be the defining issue of Romney's campaign and we can't stop hammering him on it until he tells us exactly what he's hiding.

"There is no proof that he exported jobs There is no proof thathe fired Americans There is no proo that he paid no taxes in a particular year There is no proof that he wants to change the tax code to favor himself There is no proof that he profited by using tax loopholes that he purchased There is no proof to explain how his IRA became worth over $50,000,000"

There is proof - and it is buried in the tax returns he is afraid to reveal

NO WAR

DFA and Moveon signed a petition that is supposed to get Romney to do something. That is kind of like the KKK delivering a petition to Jesse Jackson. Romney doesn't care what Moveon says...and nor should he.

Let's hammer something really important on the table.

Why are we still in Afghanistan after 10 years of fighting? Why is opium grown under the noses of our soldiers, whose profits buy the Taliban guns, that blow out the brains of our soldiers?

If Romney was elected and continued the same war, would you then speak against this madness?

And I do so today
Get out of Afghanistan & legalize drugs

And could you tell him he should grow his hair into a high-top fade?

Yes. This is way more important than Obama's record on the economy.

There is strength in numbers.. keep signing those petitions !

..on all pertinent issues..

[-] 1 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 11 years ago

I can think of more pertinent issues. Our opponent injustice has two sides. If we battle only one side, and defend the other, we will accomplish nothing.

We must apply our force on the principle of right and wrong.. for this we will need all good men to step forward.. to topple the empire of 'wrong'

Which is more important - Romneys tax returns or the 16 million people out of work?

Again, another issue regarding "wealth envy" and the news media is hyping this up.

I could care less about what Romney makes nor what my next door neighbor makes. All I care about right now is how I can improve my standard or living.

If being concerned about what others make is the main focus of someones life in making their decision at the voting booth then they have a problem.

I hope he doesn't give them squat and tells them to "bug off".

We know HOW MUCH he makes
that is not the issue
If he broke the law, the IRS would have hung him.

the issue is not legality - it is morality
here are some real questions:
is there proof that he profited by expoting jobs
is there proof he profited by firing Americans
is there proof he paid no tax in a year
and thats why he wants to CHANGE the tax code to favor himself
is there proof he profited by using tax loopholes that he purchased
is there proof to explain how his IRA ( $6000 a year ) became worth over $50,000,000

This sounds to me like the vast majority of businesses in this country.

Seems to me that the problem is not with Romney but with the federal government allowing such things to happen - don't you think.

I would think the Obimination would have recognized that by now and done something about it - don't you think?

So, until the Federal Government changes the way things are done in Washington, singiling out one individual is idiotic.

There are thousands of businesses out there who are doing the same thing - why aren't you complaining about them and calling for them to put their tax records in the public domain - Apple in particular.
