“NATO has blood on their hands,” he told RT. “The United States has blood on their hands. Why? Because they have supported an armed insurgency from the onset in March 2011. It is known and documented that this so-called opposition is, in fact, a proxy paramilitary formation, which is supported by the Western military alliance.”

Simply not true.

The revolt in Syria is real. The minority Alawites are in full control of just about everything there. The Russians are benefiting and the Iranians and Hizbulla.

They are trying to distort the the situation there and convince the world that outsiders and terror groups are responsible for the violence. The UN has its hands tied by Israel which wants more killing to take place and the West is not sincere in its claims of protecting the Syrian People. Only Saudi Arabia and some Gulf states are pushing for peace and will probably shut down the oil supply to the west if they dont stop the massacres there. Syrian opposition figures put the casuality figures at 30000.

Please check your sources.

It is a complex situation and I admit to not fully understanding what is happening there. I know that we're being lied to, that's automatic. I also can bet that whatever the "international community" is doing, they're up to no good. The Saudis and their friends are as far as I know working to overthrow the present government in Syria which you may interpret as "pushing for peace."

I would advise you do the same. No numbers from either side have any real substantiation. But the facts are that the rebels are armed and the guns came from outside Syria. A violation of international law. Saudis and the rest are only acting as proxies for the West.

Did you not see video of what the army's tanks have done to Homs?

I would believe the opposition groups rather than RT or PressTV both of which are mouth-pieces for Russia & Iran - both are oppressor governments. You've seen what they've done to their opposition.

The point is that the opposition is armed and is using human shields by hiding in civilian areas.

Any government of any country has the right to defend itself against an armed rebellion. If Israel is allowed to shell and bomb civilian areas in Gaza to hunt for the 'terrorists' then why should Syria not be allowed to hunt armed rebels inside their own country?

It is a humanitarian tragedy to be sure. But when we judge with double standards. It is not fair. What about Bahrain? Have you seen the pictures and video of what the government of Bahrain is doing to its people? What would the US govt do if an armed revolt sprang up inside its borders?
