It's the American Spring. Here is our chance to join together and help restore our republic. Corporatism has inserted itself between us and our government. Nonviolence is the most powerful path. That has been one frustration I have had with the form this movement has taken. There are real advantages in a leaderless structure, and in many ways it has played out well so far, but I think one weakness is getting everyone on board for maximum turnout at specific, important events; the problem of coordination.
I don't know the solution, even though I have given it a lot of thought. I do think though that if we go to DC and don't get a really large turnout, it might be better not to go at all.
Our antagonists would have a field day with that. In fact, that would probably be the only way to get the networks to cover us. I'm afraid they'd do it just to show footage of the low turnout.
There is such potential for huge turnout if groundwork is laid and goals of that action are clear.
I know - one look at the recent (and rare) poll by Pew shows that very clearly, but the coordination problem has stumped me so far.
It has to be approachable to middle America. The specific cause of protest has to resonate with them and the actual protest itself has to feel approachable.
