They'd have to throw me in jail first.

(SOPA doesn't exactly work like that.)

Already working on a contingency plan

Perhaps thats why they (the spammers) are flooding the site with posts tied to copyrighted materials. Free tv, free, UFC streams, etc linking the site to OWS.

In theory, besides messing up the forum It could give the act a loophole to show OWS endorses posting of stealing or viewing free material through the site.

look if people are genuinely that dumb that they cannot see the ability to drive a bus through these so called " definitions " then they deserve everything that is coming to them from these tyrants. The same with NDAA 2012. I can't believe people are stupid enough not to see what is happening!

[-] 1 points by NewEngIandPatriot (230) 12 years ago

What are you saying? These acts will be abused on us. I think we are on the same page

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

totally! it's just like watching a wall being built brick by brick and for the life of me I don't understand why more people are not absolutely horrified and shocked?

[-] 1 points by NewEngIandPatriot (230) 12 years ago

They are asleep, under the spell if you will.

9/11 snapped everyone into a state of consciousness. It was exploited to set the tone for the future. A hypnotist uses a moment or code to program people. Most people are under this "spell" People like you and me are in touch with real-reality , they are under a state of reality influenced by media, pop culture, etc. I almost fell for some of it , but I always question everything

This is parallel to the Reichstag in Germany, and events that followed with rise of Hitler.

Here in this country, it is sugar coated and incremental.

The darkness in rising in power. The people will welcome these regulations, following media spin, and other events to come where military is needed to calm the population, or eliminate gangs, etc. Everyone can be deemed a terrorist, or copyright infringe, etc they will censor internet and lock down soon. The 4th Reich is rising

I know one thing! People are just not good at joining the dots and people don't deserve freedom if they don't value it. I regard new year 2012 as a wake for what we once had

SOPA has nothing to do with OWS's website

you lost me at "Alex Jones exposes"

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

he is only reading from the Bill never mind go back to watching dancing with the stars

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

he's using information to illustrate the novel he's been creating for the past 20-something years. It's what he does - quite clever, and entertaining, but completely divorced from objective reality.

the difference between you and me is I have travelled to countries like North Korea, Cuba and I was in Vietnam just after " doi moi " so I appreciate what will be lost under what is coming. The dark clouds are forming on the horizon and people are too blind to see so you don't deserve freedom

[-] 1 points by francismjenkins (3713) 12 years ago

Hopefully all who oppose SOPA (and PIPA) succeed in stopping it.

This is a surreal attack on freedom (I have to admit, I didn't think this was possible in America, talk about a rude awakening).

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

unfortunately I have to say I would bet all the money I have that you will not stop it because it has been introduced in the same vein as NDAA 2012.this is all part of a bigger plan. Americans have lost the chance

[-] 1 points by francismjenkins (3713) 12 years ago

The thing is with NDAA ... we can challenge it in federal courts, whereas with SOPA, once the infrastructural changes are made to the internet, it would be hard to reverse (even if it was overturned by the courts). Senator Wyden will be holding a filibuster ... let's hope he wins.

Well the entertainment industry, esp the motion pic assoc, and music has produced nothing but crap for the last 10+ yrs.

There are very "few"exceptions. Now the gloves are coming off. I have had it. They are sucking us dry. It costs more to fight , they will offer settlements like with DMCA.

This gives big companies, w/ big lawyers power and the little guys will be dragged down.

Thats u & me folks.

Just so you know I was personally sued in 2000 for violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The law was so broad, that I ended up getting sued for any violation they could find with warrant.

There was no "criminal" provision, but data gathered w/ investigation could use the civil code to reward possible offended parties.

These "classes" of offended parties sued multiple "classes" of end users. I cannot get into details of my settlement, but I was personally sued in Federal court for $250,000 per count which was something like $4,000,000 !

They know it cannot be paid, the big # s are used to scare,

They know what legal retainers and court costs for each party in class cost, so they offer low settlements between $2,000-$10,000 dependent on violation, etc. Had to get attorney, etc.

It is a scam so the big companies can make people pay for their estimated losses in revenue.

If I pirated something, so what. I would never had bought it in first place cause cost was too high.

I find it free, and I get sued. I also got nailed again for something with a major satellite TV company under this DMCA act .

SOPA will shut down sites, kill small companies, kill the little guy. Combine with NDAA to oppose anything ??? Check and mate we are screwed game over.

I'm tired of buying a CD for one or 2 songs and musician only gets $1.00 if lucky? Maybe $0.50??? I would rather buy direct from musician, get lower quality free samples and buy the better one if I like it, I am for it.

I am also sick of seeing movies that you pay for and suck. You cant get your money back, the previews are like false ads, sometimes even deleted scenes you never see in movie.

I have successfully boycotted this for years, I use netflix and digitize anyting for myself. I am not buying any media EVER AGAIN. IF they kill the internet, I will go off grid altogether.

I am done. We cant lose If we boycott

You are one who actually gets it. I plan on boycotting all companies that approve of SOPA. Also check out the YouTube video I have linked below. An interesting bit of info about piracy software.

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

1.DC is run by corporate interests

  1. Piracy hurts the entertainment industry
  2. Congress and Obama pass SOPA to protect the entertainment industry's profits

What part of this clear and obvious chain of events suggests SOPA is an NWO initiative to censor dissent on the internet? It's simply a handout to the entertainment industry to help out with their bottom line (so they can kick back even more campaign contributions into D.C.). There are no black helicopters, FEMA camps, chemtrails, etc.

[-] 1 points by gnomunny (6819) from St Louis, MO 12 years ago

I'm not claiming SOPA is an NWO initiative, but have you checked out this clip?

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

maybe no helicopters or chemtrails but why is the department of homeland security enlisting students to help monitor anti-American statements on the Internet?

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

sauce?

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

As previously stated, you lost me at "alex jones..." he has created a lengthy and entertaining comic book that happens to be illustrated with thousands of completely unrelated facts, rather than the usual pen and ink drawings.

[-] 0 points by Scout (729) 12 years ago

I don't care who the f*kcing messenger is..even if Mickey Mouse is delivering the message I'm more concerned about the content.

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

It's an Editorial piece, the "messenger" can not be divorced from the "message." Your source is Alex Jones' opinion, and unfortunately you don't understand how Alex Jones operates.

bullshit

If the government wanted to close down this site, they would have done so a long time ago. They could simply attack it with a DOS attack.

[-] 0 points by PileOfSmegAKAZenDog (-30) 12 years ago

Because I will gobble and polish as many knobs as it takes to keep this site up and The Furor appeased. I love me some democrats and am expert certified at bathroom stall foot tapping.

If you are a demotard, I wanna be your puppy and I'll whip it for you so you can watch it puke. Lemme please!

GOOOOOOOOO FEMA CAMPS!!!!
