lol

The count on Microsoft's bug-less operating systems or apps?

Priceless.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Wonder how much site set-up sabotage is in play.

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 10 years ago

I designed and programmed an entire banking system application for credit unions - with over 100 programs.
I do not think the ACA site was sabotaged.
The speed/load problem was created by the original specs that was designed to handle far less than half of the applications.
The user interface looks like it was designed by different people who did not coordinate their design.
The 2 most obvious "flaws":
1
where, when, and what to "click" is not clear
2 you should be able to get plan prices by only entering
income, adult ages, number of children, zip code

What did we do before HMOs and PPOs? Why do we have these problems now that no other Industrialized nation even talks of? This country full of repugnant repelicans offends me.

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 10 years ago

the answer is replacing 20+ Rs in the house with pro-99% reps

When it first came up that they were having problems, I thought perhaps that the site was being hacked.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

I was thinking more along the lines of dark-money buying help in the outfit setting up the site. Canadian company I hear - that the Canadians themselves stopped using.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

I haven't read anything about that. You got something I can read when I have some time? I have to take off, so I won't be able to get to it until I get back. I am at least one hour behind in watching material but I can catch up at some point tomorrow. In theory, I should be able to catch up tomorrow.

CGI previously worked on healthcare sites in Canada, although its results were questionable. According to the Washington Examiner, Ehealth, Canada’s medical agency, ultimately eliminated its medical registry for diabetics in the nation after CGI became 14 months behind schedule and missed three years of deadlines.

The IT company’s $46.2 million contract was cancelled by Ehealth on September 5, 2012.

Based on CGI’s poor prior experience in the health services in Canada, some conservative news sources have started questioning the award process for this contract to create the website. They have even questioned whether any other companies bid on the job.

That pisses me off. You had every opportunity to look at prior issues before awarding that contract. Well, not you-you but the generally specific you that isn't you. That's down right incompetent.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Yep - I mean doesn't anyone do a background competency check on a business prior to laying out a 54million dollar contract?

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Apparently not. I think Leo posted a recent article and I know I posted the same information last year on the subsidiary of Xerox that flat out failed in Indiana and had gotten the boot from Texas. I think that Mitch Daniels tried to have his name removed from the law suit on the company and last time that I checked he wasn't able to. I mean there was enough time to collect background information but he either knew and didn't give a damn or it was incompetency. Well, it was incompetent either way. So, I am not surprised but it still pisses me off.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Shades of $500 toilet seats - here take this money and remember me in the future ( new job ) when I leave government employ.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Ya. Exactly.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

I find it hard to imagine what all might have been done to improve our country with all of the wasted/thrown-away public funds - Hard to imagine because there are so many things that could have been properly addressed with that unbelievable amount of money - Surely Trillions criminally wasted by now.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Not wasted. Theft. That is what it is. Except that when you wear a suit then you couldn't possibly be equated with the usual thuggery that the word implies. It's theft. Stealing from the public coffers.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

BTW - I don't suppose the government has ever heard of - " Breach Of Contract " - Hey?

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Yep - Truth. Kinda like subsidies to fossil fuel - the longest running theft of the public's money?

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Hmmmm..........idk...........I think that there is something much more sinister than theft at play. Let me kick it around for a bit. I'll brb. I have to take off for a quick minute.

I will look to see if I can find that reference to the Canadian company.

Be sure to watch that one video before Oct. 27 as it will be pulled off of You Tube for free viewing then.

I will. I will have more time in the next few days.

Sadly, from what I have read, the majority of people that have "signed up" have signed up for the expanded Medicaid, not the private insurance plans, but it IS early days.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

You meant the insurance companies are upset because they aren't getting their cut? Or is that the media concern trolling again?

How unfortunate.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Good call - just imagine how many people qualify.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/cbs-concern-trolls-over-aca-medicaid-enroll

Yeah, that's what it should say. It should say surprise, surprise, surprise. People need health care.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

NOW - if Medicaid could be made to offer better coverage in the 50 at a better cost. That could get us moving towards single payer - Hey?

F'n concern trolls always trying to get hysteria going.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Yeah, they got nothing left. Nothing. They have been shut down on tv and on line.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago
[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Yes, yes it will. Thanks for that.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

I am wondering now - considering the states that are not gonna expand their medicare programs - where their insurance companies are canceling peoples policies and making them buy more expensive coverage with higher deductibles and poorer coverage blaming ACA requirements.

Do you think that they will get slapped for insurance rape? Wonder how their public will be voting next time around as these are - I believe - all red states.

The precedent of forcing the people to purchase directly from corporations at the federal level is something that we are all going to regret.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

What like car insurance? Sit and spin - the rest of us are moving towards universal health care.

[-] -3 points by HCHC4 (-28) 10 years ago

Yes, exactly like car insurance. Except with this one, even if you dont own a car you STILL have to pay.

Whether you like it or not, this ACA forces the people to purchase from corporations. Thats not spin.

This is Occupy Wall St.

If Republicans pushed this through, you would be opening your eyes to what a disastrous move that is.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Yes, exactly like car insurance. Except with this one, even if you dont own a car you STILL have to pay.

Seriously a stupid response of yours - as everyone has a body - their health to care for.

[-] 0 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 10 years ago

everyone dies from bad health

issuance is based on risk of need emergency services

everyone will need emergency service

so their is no risk calculated

healthcare should be provided directly

not through certain risk

healthcare cost needed not be handled by bookies

[+] -5 points by HCHC4 (-28) 10 years ago

I'm not the one supporting forced corporatism.

[-] -3 points by oktoberchill (-3) 10 years ago

I think car insurance laws are at the state level, not federal

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Maybe that will be next.

[+] -4 points by oktoberchill (-3) 10 years ago

Yup, there are states that do not require car insurance

[+] -4 points by oktoberchill (-3) 10 years ago

Actually, Obamacare cannot work without the young and healthy kids buying insurance as I am sure you are well aware

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Sit down for this.

Universal health care is coming. We will have it.

Ha-Ha!!!

[Removed]

[+] -5 points by DailyKosNot (-1) 10 years ago

It may be coming, but it will require a regressive tax along the lines of a VAT, Value Added Tax. A VAT is extremely regressive, meaning it will apply hardest to those making the least. For example, it cost about $3 trillion/year for people to pay for their end of life expenses. Young healthy people need to shoulder this cost, because the dying cannot. Using a $16 trillion GDP, we will need a 3%VAT, just to pay for end of life.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

It will come via a tax like social security.

[-] 0 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

No you wouldn't. All you have listed are right wing talking points that are beyond misleading. They are lies. Kinda makes you a fuckhead. Same thing you were before.

[+] -4 points by oktoberchill (-3) 10 years ago

Your line of reasoning is incredible. I am beyond speechless. When the truth happens to align with a rightwing talking point then anyone who believes and repeats the THRUTH is a rightwing operative????

After discussing the 0bama lie about keeping your existing insurance with Shooz (he admits it was a lie, but it's a rightwing talking point to talk about it) I can only conclude that the leftwingers on this website are out of touch with reality

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

Um............Florida Blue CEO Refuses to Play Along with David Gregory's Concern Trolling

You hear it on the lips of every single one of the Republican talking heads on every single Sunday news show: President Obama promised that if you liked your healthcare, you could keep it and HE LIED!!! (cue sobbing) Millions of Americans found out that they've been dropped from their healthcare! (hand wringing commences)

Color me skeptical that any conservative actually gives a flying fig to the healthcare woes of any average American, much less ones who had substandard policies.

But David Gregory has never come across a Republican talking point that he didn't love, embrace and swallow up whole to faithfully regurgitate to the masses. So he dutifully confronts Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida CEO Patrick Geraghty about the news that 300,000 Floridians have found their policies dropped because they fall below the minimum standards of coverage set by Obamacare. Problem was, Geraghty wasn't going to play Gregory's gotcha game with people's healthcare:

“We’re not cutting people,” Geraghty said. “We’re actually transitioning people. What we’ve been doing is informing folks that their plan doesn’t meet the test of the essential health benefits; therefore, they have a choice of many options that we make available through the exchange. And, in fact, with subsidy, many people will be getting better plans at a lesser cost. This really is a transition. In fact, the 300,000 figure is the entire year. So it’s really 40,000 people for January 1, and we’re walking them through that transition.”

Why do you lie? Why are you a cockroach?

[+] -5 points by oktoberchill (-3) 10 years ago

Color ME skeptical that any ONE PERCENTER gives a darn about healthcare woes. AND (as you know) the one percenters come in both blue and red. I really don't get how you can ignore the uberwealthy dems and continue to carry the water for those that would have us think that the Reps are the party of money/business. Like the Kennedys, Rockefellers, Soros, Buffets,Clintons,0bamas.Silicon Valley, John(Heinz) Kerry, Pelosi, HOLLYWOOD, WALL ST, ET AL are rightwingers, or what???? Did you not see the recent post by LeoYo from Truthout that dispels these misconceptions?????

None the less, you didn't REALLY address my previous comment

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 10 years ago

So basically, you are getting your dumb ass kicked and you are going to go back to the mantra of they are all the same because you don't have shit.

Good to know.
