1) Changed the national dialogue. The only people still talking about "the debt" are the increasingly marginalized GOP candidates and bankers who profit from it.
2) Demonstrated that income disparity, favorable tax status for the rich and corporate and the money in politics are viewed as critical problems by a majority of the population.
3) Further exposed the contradiction between corporate media and ethical journalism.
That's just within the last six months.
Those are all good things. But we need to make sure Occupy doesn't set off on a destructive path like Oakland. This will take away from all the good it has done.
Occupy should have a zero tolerance policy for violence. OWS shouldn't be demonizing authority and inviting Blackbloc activities or other dangerous and illegal things, like trying to break and enter into buildings. For the sake of inviting a police response that will endanger people and get them arrested.
A strong commitment to non-violence is necessary to protect the movement. To protect the messages of the movement. The important messages will be diluted if there is violence.

Also, a clear defense of the US constitution and demands that it be upheld will show that occupy is not some communist/socialist effort to overthrow the government.
They have done nothing but turn some nice public places into shitholes that average Americans now avoid.

It achieved it's primary function of keeping Obama out of the news cycle. Every pixel wasted on OWS was a pixel not talking about Obamacare, Fast and Furious, Solyndra, jobs, energy, economy and all those other things Democrats would rather you not concentrate on.

I wish occupy would directly support it. I wonder how Americans involved can fail to present thei defense of it openly. Consider how that would make law enforcement feel if protestors were defending it while the police were opposing them.

Two days after obama lost his fight to raise the debt the White House machine in the basement sent out thousands of emails to their followers. "Take the heat off of Obama. If you start an anti-rich movement (which is the raise taxes on the rich group) then obama's name is not used in the mission. We will rally the troops by starting the OWS movement."

There will be a book in the future written by one of the OWS people. It will be called, "OWS, Two days after Obama lost the Debt Fight." You cant tell me that a movement as large and fast without the news media knowing anything about it could put together a mass email notification process using hippies. Over night OWS was formed across the country and only the White House basement email team could have put this together in two days. Two days is all it took.

Nice try but you cant win my support. America has been great thanks to hard working people that create. Those people that create then offer to those that cant an opportunity to participate. A single persons desire to create typically is the starting point for a corporation. That person allows others to participate and grow. It is a partnership of ideas and actions. If you want to participate you can, if not, you are not forced to participate. Even those on the sidelines can participate by purchasing stock in the corporation and making a decision to ride the stock price up or sell it if the price goes down. A pretty simple concept. Nothing forcing you to comply or participate. The wealth can get more wealthy as the poorer can get richer.

i like how its a video for the masses but yet you have to buy it and today children we learned how capitalism works. i chose not to buy the dvd since i thought $25 was to much and some one else can because they think it has some value.
