Forum Post: Republican Voters Were The Kids Who Kissed The Popular Kids' Asses

Posted 12 years ago on Nov. 11, 2011, 5:33 p.m. EST by puff6962 (4052)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

A new poll came out today and one placed Herman Cain still atop of the Republican field. I sat and pondered this and came up with the following conclusions. First, Republican voters are stupid....dirt stupid. If one woman accuses you of harassment, then you have a "he said she said." When four or five do, then you've got an animal. Second, Republican voters can't recognize stupidity. When a presidential candidate worries about China getting the bomb, then I'd say that he is justifiably worried......if he lives circa 1961. (China had the bomb by 1964). Third, Republican voters don't care if they are stupid. That is why they stick together. It helps to have a reference group of idiots when you don't want to feel dumb. And, finally, Republican voters think that if they associate themselves with the views of the rich and powerful then they, themselves, could be rich and powerful.

But, how did these guys get this way? First, when they were in school, they were beat up a little too often or got dropped on their heads. This left them with a cognitive deficit that necessitated copying the answers from the smart kid next to them. But, this only left them more dumb and in greater need of assistance. Soon, they came to resent the smart kid next to them because they couldn't even understand the answers they were stealing. This drove them into some social isolation until they realized that other losers were doing the same thing. Eureka, they had found the reference group that would get them through junior high and high school.

But, one problem remained, they were still losers and somehow there were kids who managed to both smart and popular. This caused the whole bunch of them to feel even worse about themselves. How could they be winners? Maybe, they said, if I hang around these people something might rub off. So, our little group of young Republicans found a match made in heaven, someone who could give you social perks while you copied their answers....the only problem you remained an idiot and you were somebody's bitch.

And, Republican voters, this is what you are now. You have become the lapdog of the wealthy who easily manipulate you on social issues, diversion, and promises of benefits with their various trickle down schemes.

Quit kissing ass and start figuring out things for yourself. We'd all be better off if you did.

Now that's what I am talking about. Don't coddle them (-:

So where do you think the inherent hypocrisy that they all seem to possess came from

[-] 5 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

They just want someone to tell the answers. They want clarity, simple 30 second solutions to complex problems. They want to believe that they are right...even when they are wrong.

One definition of maturity is the ability to accept things that are unresolved or unclear. By this definition, Republicans never grew up.

[-] 5 points by FutureNow (92) 12 years ago

I arrived at the conclusion that they had the personality type that put more stock in what they believed than facts

Many Religious people are that type of personality (this is not about religious people)

Somewhere along the line the GOP marketing people figured that out. You don’t have to prove anything; you just need to make them believe it

Fox news comes along, right wing talk radio. It’s a constant barrage of bad liberal/Dem, good conservative/GOP. Over and over 24/7. I know quite a few believer types that just parrot this crap and can only defend it with more parroting. They usually end up name calling.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true.

Demosthenes, Third Olynthiac
[-] 2 points by FutureNow (92) 12 years ago

Are you talking about the conservative ability to find evidence to believe anything he wants, in spite of the truth

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

There is no such thing as truth if you are a conservative Republican.

[-] 2 points by FutureNow (92) 12 years ago

Say it aint so. They claim to own god and have all the morals. Please don't tell me that is just another illusion they have created to get votes.

[-] 0 points by JadedGem (895) 12 years ago

Well, I died when I was four. I love God and decided I wanted to believe in Jesus. None of that made me want to force my beliefs on others. It also didn't make stupid enough to demand my own destruction and that of my children as Republicans so often do. I can't say I'm in a hurry to get to Heaven if they will be who I'll have for company!

[-] 2 points by FutureNow (92) 12 years ago

Are you actually implying that you can be a Christian and not be a Republican? You are implying they don’t own God!

Some would stone you for blasphemy. You are obviously not watching enough Fox. (-:

[-] 0 points by JadedGem (895) 12 years ago

lol, You couldn't pay me to watch Fox. Republicans are gonna be in for a rude awakening when they die. I refuse to call myself religious, I say spiritual, just so no one confuses me with a republican.

[-] 1 points by FutureNow (92) 12 years ago

In all honesty I don't believe in "religion" I have a very strong belief in God and have had some very powerful positive things happen through prayer

In my mind religion has man's finger prints all over it. It is primarily a control device.

The Republicans are working it big time

It is a shame when a Christian like yourself identifies yourself as something else to not be associated these deceptive scumbags

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

If God did not exist, it would be necessary for man to create him.

[-] 1 points by FutureNow (92) 12 years ago

With no Religion, who would the GOP use to get votes? It's seems as though they appeal to believers (not questioners) in general.

[-] -1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Yes. They are America's first major religious party.

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Interesting

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Read my, "The New Christianity," forum topic. I'll bring it to the top here in a minute.

[-] 2 points by GlobalSucks (87) 12 years ago

You have a lot of insight. When Bush got elected the second time, it dawned on me that the demographic that Karl Rove had correctly identified was the “simple-minded” personality. You did a much better job of describing them than I did, but I think we both saw the same thing.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Read Tom Frank's, "What's the Matter With Kansas," and you will be afraid of how well they have become at pulling the strings on these people.

[-] 2 points by StickyBuns (2) 12 years ago

Read it. It rocks.

[-] 2 points by GlobalSucks (87) 12 years ago

Thanks, I'll check that out

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Yes, the book, "Kingdom Coming," describes how this frightening demographic came about and its implications today. Truly frightening stuff.

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Also read, "Kingdom Coming," by Michelle Goldberg (I think). These idiots have made it part of their religion to be idiots.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

BWA hahaha!

that's hysterical!

[-] 1 points by Teamster (102) 12 years ago

Yeah its like they want to be cool. A few so called journalists say most american want us to go to war and your a pinhead if you think otherwise and they say oh no I don't want to be a pinhead I better listen to these guys so I don't look stupid talking about issues tomorrow at work. I see alot of these people do the same things when it comes to sports they just repeat what the sports commentators say the night before and turrn on their favorite player just cause some guy says he's washed up. Then the player does better the next week and they contradict everything the said the week before. Just a bunch of blind sheep.

Wow you said what I think! They are like a cargo cult, if they act like a greedy obnoxious uninformed rich person, they will BECOME rich! The worst ones are the young white male who have never voted before, went to an all-white school, and dare tell people we need "pure" capitalism, less taxes on rich, less regulation! NOT! Stop allowing yourself to be used as a PAWN by the 1%!

I am so tired of seeing this junk on every topic.

Do you have any sense of priorities?

These companies are what tell the government what to do. They pay to play.

Most young people's favorite is definitely Marc by Marc Jacobs's Marc by Marc Jacobs Bags. These valuable, are from Marc Jacobs's hands.

I love you. You need to get a new message, but I love you!

Thanks. I'm working on becoming a statesman, but being a troll magnet has it's appeal.

[-] 1 points by stuartchase (861) 12 years ago

I think Ningxiaoyan was deprived of a Marc Jacob bag at some point in his or her life, and she hasn't gotten over it. At least I site the reasons I've decided to go after two companies. Anyways, I received the same message from him/her.

While I agree with you about republicans, I think that the repub vs democrat debate is a tool to divide the populous.

If you looked at a Democratic dream list, what would you disagree with?

Herman Cain is a truly entertaining performance art project.

He is funnier than Sarah Palin and will do less damage.

A net win for popular culture and no danger he'll ever be President.

Who is Gawdoftruth?

[-] -1 points by SpartacusTheSlave (60) from Las Vegas, NV 12 years ago

When I was in college, there were two kinds of kids who were very good at surviving and beating the system:

  1. Really smart kids who studied hard
  2. Really devious vultures, moochers, and parasites who copied the homework off the smart kids.

The smart kids grew up to be Democrats. The vultures, moochers, and parasites grew up to be Republicans.

[-] -1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I've seen the same pattern in my high school and college friends.

[-] -1 points by devilsadvocate (67) 12 years ago

Did you know that the majority of wealthy people are republican? What a stupid post.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Yes, but the majority of the people who gave us the greatest wealth inequality since the 1920's.....and who bankrupted this government and this economy were......you guessed it......Republicons.

[-] 0 points by OWSlover (0) from Kearny, NJ 12 years ago

[-] -1 points by RexDiamond (585) from Idabel, OK 12 years ago

Liberals cannot handle real rock and roll.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

What is real rock and roll? And be brief, I'm watching The League.

[-] -1 points by RexDiamond (585) from Idabel, OK 12 years ago

Too often the study of rock begins with Bill Haley and His Comets and includes scant information about the blues and rhythm records that he, and others, used as a model. A musical genre does not simply appear, it gradually evolves to a point in time when some event-performance, publication, or recording allows listeners to perceive its unique qualities and apply a label. Wyonnie Harris' 1947 recording of "Good Rocking Tonight" was one of many "rhythm records" made during the late 1940s, however when it was recorded by Elvis Presley in 1954 it seemed like a new and different approach. What made it seem new and different was its context. Without exploring the history of black popular music, country and western music, race relations, technical developments, and the music business one can be led easily to the conclusion that rock and roll was some new and different music which appeared suddenly.

This page begins with the African musical traits brought here beginning in 1619 and attempts to trace their fusion with the European music brought here by the colonists. The story of this musical interaction is also the story of American popular music and includes the plantation songs of Stephen Foster, the ragtime of Scott Joplin, the blues of Bessie Smith, the jazz of Count Basie, and the jump bands of Louis Jordan. The knowledge of the stream of American popular music allows one to understand that rock and roll was a natural result of the combined forces that affected the music.

Bluegrass - A subgenere of country music, bluegrass shed it's formative skin and forged a separate identity in the mid-Forties when bandleader Bill Monroe altered the complexion of "hillbilly" music. Monroe fused country, blues, jazz, gospel, and Celtic folk into an unified style.

Boogie-Woogie - A style of piano playing that features a "hot" rhythm based on eight-to-the-bar figures with the left hand. The style is believed to have originated in Kansas City with pianists such as Pete Johnson and Joe Turner. The term came from "booger-rooger" which was an expression for a "hot" party or musical good time, used by Texas Twenties country bluesman Blind Lemon Johnson. Through blues guitarists such as Albert Smith ("Guitar Boogie") and John Lee Hooker ("Boogie Chillin") the phrase came to refer to guitar playing, too.
[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I like Peter Gabriel.

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

And Pat Boone.

[-] 0 points by RexDiamond (585) from Idabel, OK 12 years ago

Gospel - The term "gospel music" was probably coined in the Twenties by Thomas Dorsey, a Georgia blues singer who was converted and began composing religious songs in popular styles. Originally denounced, it caught on with the black sanctified church and has evolved along side black secular music. Gospel singing is rooted in the ornate style of the old spirituals and in the impassioned "testifying" declamation of Baptist preachers. The close-harmony group vocals of the late forties and fifties gospel - with the group responding to and urging on the soaring, improvising lead singer had many links to the acapella and and doo-wop of the fifties.

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I grew up with a 1928 copy of the Baptist hymnal. I grew up with those songs.

Cain's at the top for one reason only:anti-Republicanism, i.e., he has Tea Party support and we are the majority. The Republican Party in the form of Gingrich is being forced to pay attention.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

The money behind the Republican party looks upon Cain as a freak show. The only thing he is running for is as a Fox News personality. Otherwise, he might have bought the two women off before the campaign.

But, on a more sinister note, the REAL reason Cain ran was to inject the 999 crap into the national lexicon. The Koch brothers were the evil little billionaires who came up with the thing.....the would love it.....but it would gut medicare and social security and that is what they want.

Can you imagine trying to get insurance if you were 68 with a history of a heart attack? Do you know how long you will live...how much you must save....Can you be assured that your investments will remain solvent when you need them?

Get real. Cain is an empty, libertarian, fascist currently employed by the Koch brothers. If you think this guy is real, even disregarding the fact that he can't keep his hands off the help, then you are a damn fool.

[-] 0 points by betuadollar (-313) 12 years ago

Haha... in another world someone might simply dismiss you a racist. Thank God we no longer live in that world, right?

All are my tools... if it serves to shape the national discussion.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I would be a racist if I did not say that this man was a fool. Since when did it become against the law to say that a black man is a complete, blithering, idiot?

[Removed]

[-] 0 points by betuadollar (-313) 12 years ago

Haha... this is not a battle for intellectual superiority.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

No, you don't have to be a genius to be President, but it helps.

You do, however, have to have some baseline level of intelligence and knowledge of our world. This complete, blithering, idiot does not and you should be fearful that a high percentage of people could support such a fool.

[-] 1 points by betuadollar (-313) 12 years ago

I don't think you really understand the state of our Presidency or our politics. I need someone who can offer resistance in the form of angst as strength of conviction.

[-] -1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

You need to read the forum post....The United States of Reaganistan.

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Who are you supporting now?

[-] 0 points by betuadollar (-313) 12 years ago

Why, you feel like running?

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

"If nominated, I shall run to Mexico. If elected, I shall fight extradition."

Mo Udall said that one.

[-] 0 points by betuadollar (-313) 12 years ago

Hmm... interesting.

I'm not a politician; and I'm not affiliated with any party for any reason. Truthfully, I don't recall a president that I have ever been overly impressed with. And I have a pretty long memory.

"Democrat," "Republican," hold little meaning... they are parties of opposition in a very old, very dirty, and very viscous game. Neither side has American interests at heart.

Reganistan... the only fault I had with Reagan was with his creation of a National debt. Funny in that in playing the blame game this has only recently come to light; it was an issue with true Conservatives even as it occurred.

[-] -2 points by KnowledgeableFellow (471) 12 years ago

Cain is a piker next to the guy who got blowjobs in the oval office from a 19 year old intern. After that performance, the Democrats have nothing to say. Just check the dress for the stains.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

So, what is a President supposed to do.....role over for Mitch McConnell and the teabuggers?

[-] -2 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

LOL... This is hilarious! I was actually kind of doing the same thing on another forum. Except instead of saying how stupid people are for not seeing that "you've got an animal to deal with" because four (or five, I lost count too... I mean of the anonymous ones) women came forward I was saying that I didn't think the american was so stupid to see that 4 women coming out not after the alleged incident, not after the first time he ran for president not even when he entered the race this time but ONLY after he was leading in the polls did these women (Not knowing eachother btw) collectively decide to come forward. Just strange that he sexually harassed (or assaulted depending on the news station... I think 'assault' sounds more aggressive and sinister too) and it took one of them as long as 14 years to come forward. Just convenient timing I suppose but really... How... odd.

Well 'Puff' (if that is indeed your real name) I guess all that insight you get from 'puffing' makes you more enlightened than I.

"Figure out your own answers"?! Oh... I get it. You mean live off the government... Well I guess we are a bit stupid for not expecting that people just hand us things, for understanding how business works and the finer points of BATHING. Well then.

Oh speaking of ass whoopings. Hows the occupation going? Built up an immunity to tear gas yet? No? Hmm...

LOL Fuck OWS! I'm sick of listening to you freaks and your commie shit. If it even looks like you might pull this direct democracy crap off (and I'm saying that knowing well that you all are going to tucker out in the next few weeks or forget what you're doing in the middle of a park "Dude... is this Burning Man?") I'm strapping on the soap, driving to NYC (in my TRUCK) and washing some douche bag protesters.

Oh... and enjoy the SNOW... :)

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

You are a lonely person, aren't you?

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

You're not an attorney, so you do not know what a settlement agreement is. The second of Cain's 5 accusers did not out herself and has not violated the confidentiality agreement originally signed in the 1990's. Would you want to be one of these women staring down the wrath of Fox news? Is your life so miserable that you would want it turned completely upside down?

I'm retired and I've paid more in taxes than you will make in five lifetimes. I pay for the stupidity of people such as yourself every day. I therefore give you permission to be a complete dumbass for the next five minutes after which I will not respond to you.

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

You ARE the 1%!!!

[-] -1 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

How gracious for you to 'give me permission' to do anything. Or as they said back in your day 'mighty white of you'. You are a real treat there Puff. I guess I should yield to your extensive knowledge of things like settlement agreements which you make sound like only lawyers know of such strange and magical things. Care to cite an example of how you pay for stupid people (you know... like me. not prostitutes ole timer ) or was the five minute 'dumbass' period as long as you can stay lucid you old fart?

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I'm 48 and I'm pretty sure I could beat your ass. By the way, you surpassed your five minute time limit and that's all I can give you. (I was an orthopaedic spine surgeon and invested in a number of medical appliance companies).

[-] -1 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Bad evil corporate corrupter person! You want us to be your bitches so you can manipulate us on social issues and diversion!

[-] -2 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

LOL... Yeah? Well I'm 49 and I was an orthopedic BRAIN surgeon with a bigger penis than yours aaaand... my dad could beat up your dad... aaand I'm Batman. So there.

You must be new to talking shit on the internet. Like "I'm pretty sure I could beat your ass". Sorry pops its the internet. You'll just have to take it. :( frowny face. But I digress.. When did my time limit start? Now? I'd like to put that on the OWS agenda for general assembly. I think that Puff is being stingy with his time. I think that it's in everyones interest to get some of Puffs time. He's a retired spin surgeon and I think that enough is enough. It's our american right to have more than five minutes talking to this very interesting person on the internet.

Are you for real? LOL

[-] 1 points by BrainC (400) from Austin, TX 12 years ago

this is why I come here. this is hilarious. Today has truly been the best day on the OWS forums. congrats iDaddy. This made me laugh. Thank you.

[-] 0 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

I'm here to be constructive believe it or not. The OP trolled, I trolled back... he trolled etc. I thought it was hilarious as well... Yes Puff I enjoyed our childish little parlay.

I think that Libs are most likely disgusted with our situation but have forgotten what the states can and should be doing but haven't. So they go to the top and the top proceeds to shit on us. I may be wrong and wasting my time (except for this hilarious little excursion) but you gotta admire the crazy determination of these people.

And hey laughing is always good no matter what you believe.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

I feel like a troll...being trolled...by a troll... This is like when you're on chat roulette and spanking it to another guy spanking it to you... Weird

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Don't you get it. I do these topics as "troll magnets" so that these idiots stay off of the relevant pages.

[-] 1 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

I noticed there a gross inequality of relevance between posts. I feel we need to redistribute the comments from other posts so that each post gets it's fair share. In fact I think I've helped you get into the top 1%...

sigh Now that you told me that you're a troll-magnet this isn't nearly as fun... Now I feel like you just gave me those mean comments because I'm a troll and not because I earned it. You have officially denied my pursuit of happiness...

Believe it or not most of my comments on here have been contrary but mostly polite and constructive. Apart from asking how much to send the rest of OWS'rs to Egypt...

[-] 1 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

Perhaps I'm just funny but I have a lot of friends who are doctors (none of them liberal for some reason). I don't recall any of them ever claiming to be able to "beat ass" on anyone.

Is that what one learns in Medical school? If so sign me up!

[-] 0 points by iDaddy (52) 12 years ago

Careful he might beat your ass too! He's an animal! In fact 14 years ago he tried to sexually harass me. It didn't seem relevant until now. Tee Hee...

There isn't a medical term for beating someone's ass.

[-] -1 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

Well lets be fair. There were actually 5 women at one point, but only two official claims

  • 1 is deep deep underground,, so we don't really know the story
  • 2 is now outted and it turns out she has collected multiple settlements, and has a history of extorting her employers for settlements. She filed a harassment claim against another employer for for not being granted a large raise and being allowed to work from home. She also didn't file her claim against Cain until she found out about the settlement #1 got.
  • 3 never filed a claim and wants to remain anonymous while making allegations from the dark
  • 4 is the woman with Gloria Alred,, a high powered attorney on the pay of the DNC who makes her living extorting money from people. By her own account, she called up Cain to see if she could get a job from him, flew to Washington and met him in a hotel bar. Shes produced no evidence of the flight, the bar, the hotel, or anything else, but I truly believe she flow out there to sleep her way into a job. Assuming all her allegations were true, it wouldn't be harassment,
  • 5 turned out to be a woman who got invited to dinner with her girlfriends while cain was abroad. She was unhappy he didn't pay the bill, but other than that, no actual claims of even sexual advances.

Yes, Cain is guilty as hell. Lets lynch him.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Yes, Cain was guilty and dumb as hell and he got pinched....not lynched.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

STILL ON THE CAIN TRAIN...... Hate to tell you I told you so, so I'll just tell you that you will have to find a new fool to throw your blind allegiance behind.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

You don't contest a sexual harassment charge in court unless you're afraid of more coming out....you don't contest two in court unless you're an animal

Can you imagine what happened to his D & O insurance rate?

[-] 0 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

Absolutely. Thats why I'm saying, he's guilty! We don't need a trial!

[-] 1 points by gr57 (457) 12 years ago

I love your post man. Great stuff, I'm serious. But this is just a sugestion. I know you are joking about the "Lets lynch him.", but says lets lynch a black guy, even as a joke, probably isn't the best idea lol

[-] 0 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

Sorry man, I'm speaking to the mindset. You can be an old fat white guy(Soros, Moore, Limbaugh, take your pick) pulling down 100 million a year and if the left disagrees with you, you get one reaction.

If, however, you are an outspoken black, or a woman, groups Democrats feel they "own", if you wander off the reservation/plantation, they will most definitely lynch you. Do you have any idea how much money was thrown at defaming Sarah Palin?

No, Cain is an uppity black man who has wandered off the plantation, and he deserves everything they have in store for him.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I would say that any man or woman who runs for the Presidency and is unprepared to answer questions about how they would govern deserves all the wrath of the media and public opinion.

Palin was a bad joke. Cain was a circus performer. Perry is a lazy redneck. Rick Santorum.....just bat crazy. Michelle Bachman.....just bat crazier.

Blacks who become conservatives all seem to resent the implication that they had some assistance in their success. The truth, however, is that none of us get to where we are without great assistance.

It's truly a sad dynamic to watch.....I compare it to someone climbing aboard a lifeboat and telling those in the water to tread water.

That is why I tend to look upon the Clarence Thomases or Herbert Cain with considerable derision. I really don't give a crap that they are black, but I care a great deal that they would deny other minorities the opportunities that allowed them to succeed.

[-] -1 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Cain used the word "lynch" himself.

[-] -1 points by gr57 (457) 12 years ago

ya but he's black. It's kinda like how he can say ni**er but I can't

What a good way to alienate half of the 99%. People at OWS should start putting 45% all over the place because that is apparently who they represent. Do it in pencil though because with more garbage like this the number will continue to drop. How can anyone take OWS seriously when people spew stuff like this?

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Half the 99? Do you think that these people will be won over with sappy slogans and singing kumbaya around a campfire? These guys need some electroshock type therapies just so they are not so dangerous. They gave us George Bush twice....twice.....despite knowing he was a liar and an idiot. They have wrecked this country and they are trying to make it worse. Herman Cain? Are you kidding me? This guy should be an embarrassment to his party, instead he is leading it.

Sometimes love is a pat on the back and other times it is a kick in the ass. It's time to kick some ass.

[-] 0 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

In most recent polls a generic Republican, much like the ones you seek to describe in your original post, gets more votes than Obama. So yes, half of the 99%.

[-] 3 points by TLydon007 (1278) 12 years ago

"In most recent polls a generic Republican, much like the ones you seek to describe in your original post, gets more votes than Obama."

What I find unusual is that generic unnamed republican is the only one beating him in the polls. Once you put a face on him/her, they significantly drop. My advice to the RNC is to run an anonymous candidate with a potato sack on their head that has a question mark written on it along with a voice modulator. Could be Sarah Palin... Could be Reince Preibus... You'll never know unless they win. Anonymous Republican for 2012.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Ok, so how do you reach half of the 99 when facts and reason are of no use? Do you think that a generic Republican is going to do anything that reverses the forces leading to divergences in our society?

[-] 0 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

No, I am just saying that anyone who is thinking of voting for a Republican, as well as many Democrats, would probably find your original post in poor taste. It is those types of things that are pushing more of the 99% away from OWS.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Sometimes humor is the most piercing form of logic. When I told my in laws to stop referring to people as "liberals" and instead call them "those people that want to give our money to black people," it had an effect.

Many people are reluctant to say they are a Democrat, but it would seem that a rational person would be very foolish to associate themselves with the current crew of Republican presidential candidates.

[-] -1 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

We'll all stop referring to you as puff and instead call them "that racist lunatic". Works for me.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Just the opposite. The emergence of the right depended greatly on race baiting. Do you know where Ronald Reagan announced himself a candidate for President in 1980?

My inlaws have nothing against social security and medicare.....but if those damn poor people would just go away. Those are their words, not mine.

Here is a man who obviously used his position to enrich himself and to get laid as much as possible. The problem was that the women were not his wife.

[-] -2 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

An imperfect man, but I think that....excluding 1932 and FDR or 1860 and Lincoln.....there is no time that any President has inherited such a mess.

Obama's problem is that he leads from behind. He recognizes that he is the first black President and I think that he takes that very seriously. If he were seen as combative, it could set race relations back a generation. Yet, during the past years, I think that he has faced the reality of the teabaggers. These guys...you guys....are a cult. You have no concept of economics and how difficult all of the options are in the economic crisis.

I looked it up and there's no location near me. The only people I've met that have tried it said it was popular before Cain ran it into the ground. If we're gonna elect a pizza man president, maybe we should find the founder of Papa John's, or Dominos, or Pizza Hut instead of some 3rd rate craphole.

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Clinton was a scoundrel, but was at least a competent one. What do you have to do to be booted out of the Republican party? Divorce....No, Gingrich has had numerous affairs and has been married three times. Kill somebody? Give out political favors like their M & M's? Be found to be a liar?

The reality is that the only thing that will disqualify you from being a Republican leader is to mention income inequality or tax fairness.

If you want to do some research, check how many Republican gigs men like Lincoln Chaffe, David Stockman, or Bruce Bartlett have gotten lately.

You stop goosestepping and the goose will crap all over you.

"Herman, is being taken down by Obamas Chicago machine."

Sharon Bialek is a Republican and opposes Obama. But go ahead and call other people sheep. Perhaps it will take your mind off the fact that Herman Cain winning the Republican Primary would be a wet dream for the Democratic Party. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if his campaign is getting funding from Obama. Anything to avoid a real campaign against Romney.

[-] -1 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

Romney is an establishment big government neocon. In the same mold as Arizona senator John McCain. The lib media wants Romney to run, because he is an easy one to beat. Cain may have been successfully destroyed by Obamas machine. Clinton overcame all of the sexual shenanigans he had as governor. We shall see. Democrats are a racist pack, in general, so Cain won't get any dem help.

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 12 years ago

"Democrats are a racist pack, in general, so Cain won't get any dem help"

And yet they voted for a black president. Listen, when you go about trying to spread a narrative, you might want to make sure it makes any sense. Also, you might want to remember that not everyone's stupid enough to believe ridiculous things they hear on Fox News so it's just not gonna catch on. If you think Cain has such a great chance of winning, go to Intrade where his odds are set at 4.5% and Romney is over 60%. At least then you can put your money where your mouth is.

[-] 1 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

Obama got 94% of blacks to vote for him. They voted on race. Independents and disgruntled neocons gave it to him. Blacks don't vote in large numbers, so the whites gave him the election. Btw, fox news is a neocon news format. I don't watch it, nor do any libertarians or hardcore conservatives, who see it for what it is.

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 12 years ago

"Btw, fox news is a neocon news format. I don't watch it, nor do any libertarians or hardcore conservatives, who see it for what it is."

It is an interesting observation.

I however, disagree. I actually think the same thing about the democrats. So lets see how this looks from my perspective.

when they were in school, they were beat up a little too often or got dropped on their heads. This left them with a cognitive deficit that necessitated copying the answers from the smart kid next to them, who became a wealthy Republican. But, this only left them dumber and in greater need of assistance from the government. Soon, they came to resent the smart wealthy Republican next to them because they couldn't even understand the answers they were stealing. This drove them into some social isolation until they realized that other losers were doing the same thing. They had found the reference group that they would call OWS. But, one problem remained, they were still losers and there were some kids who were both smart and wealthy. But, this led our young Democrats to a match made in heaven, someone who could give them social perks, such as the government ... the only problem was that they became their bitch, and they had to remain poor.

[-] 6 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

But those who identify themselves as Democrat are usually more intelligent than Republicans.

http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1968042,00.html

[-] -1 points by BrainC (400) from Austin, TX 12 years ago

Yes, liberals thinking they are smarter than others makes sense. I have made that connection previously. That is why a liberal believes they know what is best for other people. And since they know what is best for others, yet they cannot directly impose their will on others, they use the government and regulations to do it.

Liberals say, I know what is best for everyone, so let me tell you how to take care of yourself and everyone else.

Republicans on the other hand say, I dont care what you think is best for you, I know what is best for me. You take care of you and I will take care of me.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, they dont eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, not one should eat meat.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

That's interesting. My basic impression of Republicans is that they are the party that helps those who can help themselves help themselves more.

They are all welfare queens, but they just dress nicer and have that nice, horror movie, grandmother look.

[-] 2 points by BrainC (400) from Austin, TX 12 years ago

How many tours did Kerry do? If you came from privilege, would you have been in that jungle? Get real, skippy. You've resorted to moral relativism to explain your stupid beliefs. You just want someone to tell you what to think.....So, I'm going to help you. Your life will be defined by mediocrity. You may get lucky and make a few bucks here or there, but when you do you will think that you are a genius. That it all happened because of your hard work and your superior intelligence. When you make a lot of money, you are amazed....just based on the 35% amount....how much you pay in taxes. By now, you've started to hang around some other lucky bastards and some are very rich. You drive a BMW, they drive a Mercedes. You begin to think about what you could do with all of that tax money and you just hate that it goes to the blacks....they're the ones who are sucking on the teat. Now, your new rightwing friends have already gone through this grieving phase....for all that money you could have if only these people weren't so lazy.....and they shape your opinions more and more towards a Libertarian type of fascism. Why should the government do anything? Hell, why do I have to pay for it?

Well, skippy, you have to pay for it because capitalism is an imperfect system who can reward even someone as dumb as you.....So, you'd better pay your taxes and preserve at least the system that we have.

In all total, Kerry served just under 4 tours durring Vietnam but only spent a total of 9 months "in-country" and of those, he only spend 4 near the enemy. Ya, he might have served but compared to most people, was it a very stenious time, I don't think so.

And you want to know something, no I don't like wellfair programs or social security. I don't mind paying taxes though. I know the government needs money and I'm willing to put in my share but not if they are just going to take my money and give it to other people. Help pay for the military, go ahead I'm quite proud of our military and it's abilities. Help pay for things like the E.P.A., sure why not. Pay a hunting fee, ya, ifit helps the national parks and the wildlife service, I'm ok with that becuase I apreciate it. But why is it that I have to work 4 months out of the year, just to cover my taxes, and there are people out there who have never had a job in their life but can live as comfortably as me?

Why should I one day have to save to put my child through school when there are people out there who can't keep it in their pant, who have kids every year practicly, and yet when it comes time for their college, they just turn to the government and say "sorry. Can you get the tab for me. Thanks". I'm in college and every year, I get this nice e-mail printed out for me that reminds me that for every hour I took, I had a $46 fee tacked on so that the school could "subsidize" someone elses tuition. People complain about paying more for college, how about that cost? Why is that tacked onto my college bill?

Actually, I would have voted for McCain if he had not chosen AN IDIOT Republican like Sarah Palin as his VP.

Along with all the other rich kids. He didn't even finish his time there....and our country was at war. George Bush defended Texas from Oklahoma while a lot of less fortunate sons were getting killed. Are you getting more stupid by the minute or are you drinking?

[-] 0 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

"It's been said, during the 1968–1974 period, Presidents Johnson and Nixon decided against calling up National Guard units for service in Vietnam. However, military documents show during the Vietnam War, almost 23,000 Army and Air Guardsmen were called up for a year of active duty; some 8,700 were deployed to Vietnam."

From your wiki article

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Yes, but you've never heard of a term "senator's son." There were any number of ways to make sure that little screwups like baby George didn't get their ass shot off by some little commie.

[-] -1 points by justhefacts (1275) 12 years ago

Gee....I'd think that anyone his age who is still alive managed NOT to get their ass shot off by some little commie. Weird how that worked out huh?

I'm reconciling your analysis with the fact that, the more wealthy the citizen, the more likely he/she is to vote Republican.

Essentially, if your theory that Republicans are stupid is correct, then we should be able to say: greater stupidity = higher earning potential.

If your theory holds true, perhaps there is some purpose to the dumbing down of American students.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

But, that analysis relies upon percentages. Studies also show that the lower your income, the more likely you are to beat your kids. Does that mean that beating your kids makes you poor?

At the upper extreme, people vote Republican because it is in their economic interest. What is interesting, however, is that there is an entire strata of lower socioeconomic individuals who vote Republican AGAINST their own economic interests.

If you would like to read an entertaining book about the subject, buy a used copy of Tom Frank's, "What's the Matter With Kansas?"

[-] -1 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

So low income people, who are more likely to be Democrats, are more likely to beat their kids? I did not know that! Very interesting.

If you don't think they beat their kids because their poor, maybe they beat them because they are Democrats?

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

they're not their. Go back to your fifth grade teacher and punch her in the face.

[-] 0 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

I'm confused. Sorry I are so stoopid. Perhaps it is my conservative leanings? You said

Studies also show that the lower your income, the more likely you are to beat your kids

So we know Democrats make up the majority of the lower income strata, so doesn't it seem a safe assumption that Democrats are more likely to beat their kids? Help me out man! This is all new to me!

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

That was my point, correlation does not necessarily prove causality.

The month to month sales of ice cream in America correlates almost perfectly with infant mortality in Sub Saharan Africa. Does that mean that we should eat more ice cream so that less kids die there?

I think you may be the type of person of whom I should not ask rhetorical questions.

[-] 1 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

Ah ok! Correlation does not mean causation! Why didn't you say that instead of

they're not their. Go back to your fifth grade teacher and punch her in the face.

Its probably cuz I r so stoopid that I didn't figure that out.

Another question. Does this statement I made above imply causality?

  • So low income people, who are more likely to be Democrats, are more likely to beat their kids?

If not, is it true that Democrats are more likely to beat their kids, based on what we know so far? Help me out man, cuz I'm new to this math, science shit.

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

To do that study, you would have to compare groups of individuals making the same amount of money with one group calling themselves Democrats and the other, Republican. Next, you would compare rates of child abuse among the two groups. If poor Democrats beat their kids more (with a statistical significance p<.05), then you could possibly make the statement that being a Democrat is, at least in poorer socioeconomic groups, more likely associated with child abuse.

[-] 2 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

I'm not talking about doing a study. I'm trying to work with the information we have.

Fact 1: 85% of the people in the US have about the same net worth as the top 15%. It is safe to call those people relatively poor

Fact 2: Poor people are more likely to beat their kids

Fact 3: Poor people are more likely to be democrat

Conclusion: In consideration of the entire population of the US Democrats are more likely to beat their kids.

Poke holes in the existing data/logic, don't ask for a new study. It is, after all, your premise.

[-] 2 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

I explained the study that would have to be performed. One could say, however, that Democrats may beat their kids more, but Republicans are more likely to molest them.

Every poor person in Kansas is a Republican. Most poor people in the south are Republican. That is where these issues are most severe.

What if it's all the Republicans in those groups who are doing the molestation, child abuse, and spousal abuse?

Republicans are nice people, unless you're related to them.

[-] 1 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

Based on? General statistics that make sense will do "Dr". hehe

[-] 0 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

Child molestation is almost endemic in Utah. Utah is mostly Mormon. Most Mormons, for some reason, are Republican. Therefore, Republicans are more likely to be child molesters.

http://www.mazeministry.com/mormonism/women/mormonsex3.htm

[-] 0 points by MiKEYD (55) 12 years ago

According to your unverified statistics, in Utah Republicans are more likely to be child molesters. Got it. Here is an interesting fact I found.

Children from families with annual incomes below $15,000 as compared to children from families with annual incomes above $30,000 per year were over 22 times more likely to experience some form of maltreatment that fit the Harm Standard and over 25 times more likely to suffer some form of maltreatment as defined by the Endangerment Standard.

Looks like on a national average, Democrats are more likely to be child molesters as well. What else have you got?

[-] 1 points by puff6962 (4052) 12 years ago

But what percentage of those families identify themselves as Republican? You cannot make any conclusions until you divide the data by party affiliation. What if all of the poor Democratic families are saints and sing their kids to bed every night?

In the words of Mark Twain, (there are) "Lies, damned lies, and statistics."
