This content is user submitted and not an official statement

t turns out that while unrepentant greed and avarice are Republican virtues in 2012, they are still illegal:

The legal claim, brought Thursday by the Oregon Department of Justice in Marion County Circuit Court, accuses the pair of racketeering, money laundering and other fraud from 2007 to 2010.

aAHHhaahahahaha . . . charter schools . . . forgot to mention(?) ( fully disclose ) that the non-profiting would be by the community?

White collar crime . . . the new industry?

Scumbags stealing from the public in front of their eyes.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

It is a growing criminal culture in business - wallstreet does it - so why can't I - just gotta find a gray area to operate in. This is a disease fed by the fact that the law is not being applied to the big fish - just fines if anything at all - the smaller fish say - well - I can do that - and so you have Banks insurance companies for profit health care education etc etc etc and it will continue to grow until the law on the books is enforced for ALL - starting at the Top.

They have been doing it for twenty years and this sense of entitlement is amazing.

A comment I made on another thread ( related I think ). Applications for a rolling jubilee type action?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (24246) from Coon Rapids, MN 1 hour ago

Challenge opponents ( and current government ) on issues? Real issues.

Provide well thought out remedies for current fuck-ups like corpoRAT personhood?

Show the public the connection to rampant greed and all of societies ills?(see corpoRAT personhood also reference WallStreet - also fossil fuel )

Show the growing industry of white collar crime and how it gets a blind eye from justice or a minor slap on the wrist?

So much to do in an honest campaign - if - you could get coverage - communications out to the public. ↥twinkle ↧stinkle reply edit delete permalink

Got my head so deep in fed-ass I didn't even know. Marion County? almost everything outside of Multnomah County (Portland) is completely Hillbilly Taliban. I know of what I speak. Same with LA, though.

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Hillbilly Taliban.

I'm so stealing that.

[-] 2 points by WSmith (2698) from Cornelius, OR 11 years ago

One of many coins, that's an old one. What's that thing when you do a Google search and only come up with one source, I have a bunch of those. My girlfriend wants to know how I make money off this shit... me too? WILL COIN FOR $$!!

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

[-] 2 points by WSmith (2698) from Cornelius, OR 11 years ago

FLAKESnews and Limbaugh penetration is very high in outstate areas around the country.

That's no accident.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

"Any reasonable degree of oversight or vetting should have prevented the problem from arising. King had revealed his intentions before in the running of “three North Clackamas School District charter schools: New Urban High, Clackamas Middle College and Clackamas Web Academy” where “The district discovered a trail of financial problems, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in questioned expenditures, only after his departure.”

Let states and students beware Republicans bearing solutions. America, like Troy, is being sacked. The Oregonian tells us that the state wants its money back but that’s what happens when Republicans want their country back. The most amusing anecdote to arise from this situation is the revelation that “the schools did legitimately educate some students.”

Well........They actually did educate "some" students.

They're just afraid to admit which ones..........LOL

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Exactly.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They went on to positions in the local FLAKESnews room.

Success!!!

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

As bobble heads.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Isn't that what a for profit school system is for?

One wouldn't want to encourage corporate dissent, nor unprofitable thinking outside the proverbial box.

Only adherence to contract provisions.

[-] 2 points by VQkag2 (16478) 11 years ago

Right up there with the for profit colleges ripping off so many vets (phoenix u etc)

great post

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Amen.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Disgusting isn't it?

Profiteering our children.

Life is very cheap to these people and I wonder what scams they are pulling off in other profiteered education systems..

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Oh, like...........real estate or my all time favorite........online classes at home...........testing....... and supported by a bunch of ignorant numnuts that do nothing but listen to Murdoch. They aren't bright enough to figure out that his hand is totally in the cookie jar.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Kan I has a sack 'o' tax payer dollars now?

That's their rallying cry these days, while Boehner makes sure there isn't enough to go around..

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

He just not happy knowing that there's ONLY one born every minute.

FLAKESnews makes flakes..................................:)

If you think this is bad it is nothing compared to what the Gulen Movement Islamic Cult is doing in the USA with over 130 charter schools. http://www.gulencharterschools.weebly.com or http://www.gulenschoolsworldwide.blogspot.com

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Wrong answer. This is not a case of these are bad schools because you are under the impression there is some sort of indoctrination going on. We don't shift the dialogue to focus on a group of Turkish charter schools. Faux privatization via charter and private schools must go. ALL of it MUST end.

Christian school cost cutting procedures in Ohio = short lives.

At least it won't be tax payer dollars until Obamacare must pay for the damage to their lives.

Buckeye Education is overseen by Sterling Education, whose vision statement ironically includes, “adequately funded academic programs and safe, well-maintained, proper school facilities.” Both Buckeye and Sterling have declined to comment on the situation.

Dumbasses.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

To my way of thinking, prison time would be appropriate, but I'll lay a dollar to a doughnut that won't happen.

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Endangerment of a child?

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Reckless child endangerment. Plus there should be laws dealing with asbestos removal, even in Ohio.

They broke them all. They likely told the kids how much fun it would be to tear stuff down too, so they also probably kicked up even more dust.

Criminals!!!

At tax payer expense!!

[-] 2 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

Yep, prosecution would be nice.
