What is lost in all the horror of this violent crackdown by the police in Chicago and Quebec, and the inevitable feeling of discouragement that may result in us, is that what it really signifies historically is the first death throws of a long held power structure.
The reason is that demographics in America, the central power of modern empire are changing, and the global 1% who have used America as their military arm have been gradually stepping up both their repression and their financial stranglehold on American democracy over the last several generations in a desperate attempt to stave off the inevitable.
The truth is that America is changing, trembling under their feet, and to them those first tremors are an earthquake.
Therefore, rather than becoming discouraged by this horrible, violent suppression, we should see these abuses of power for what they are, the final failing attempt of a failing empire to maintain it's power.
In other words, don't give up hope. Far from it - be encouraged because time and circumstance are now finally and firmly on our side.

saw the post today, I think they have a handle on things, hope you stay, or at least check in from time to time, we can start to hammer our weapons here, if we stick it out and if the "founders?" care to read us, it is unreasonable to assume the best wordsmiths will all be in one location at one time, this forum provides the best chance of finding some, and if we can hold the fort till they get here we will have done our job....

Months ago we wrote in this very forum about how, as we procede in our cause and our successes become more great and the movement spreads, the corrupt power structure will become more and more fearful of their losing their grip on the world. That fear will manifest itself in the application on tatics that will be more and more outrageous in their butality. The people will take greater notice and we Occupy will become to be be seen by the great masses as the only viable means of change.
Some, even many, will choke and gasp at the very notion of widespead popular acceptance. They'll see that acceptance as a threat to this cause; as a poison. Even now they push hard against "corrution" of the cause.
Like the parent who doesn't allow their grown child to move on in life making their own decisions and realizing the consequences, they themselves fail to realize that their purpose will have been served and the the movement has taken on a "life" of it's own, becoming whatever it becomes. There'll be no stopping the evolution.
Many will pay the price for acting for change in the world. It is the nature of the process of change that resistance - friction - ties to stop it. When the forces of friction surface, we should all take encouragement from it, for that is nature's way of telling us we are acting on and genuinely affecting that which we oppose.
