For some years I have spent some of my time studying the people of North America and Europe. It has come to my attention that people's minds are clouded by the current philosophy that success means to be: rich, own as much stuff as possible and to have done it all through business. I have seen this in action in high school when most of my friends took business courses, they wore suits and made presentations. They tried to convince classmates to buy what they were selling. Of course this want for business courses created problems, art classes were being abandoned, history was regularly being criticized for it's lack of practical money making use. The drama class list many students to business. I told myself that they were crazy! Giving up all of this for the uncertain path of business. Then came the crisis of 2007-2008! I feel that we should change this way of putting all our trust into a domain that is unstable and plagued with corruption. Why do we trust a system that enslaves us? After 2008 disillusionment on business came to school, and we saw less suits being worn. We must not let our minds be consumed with greed, we must let go of all that makes us knowledgable. Culture and the arts are very important for the intellectual, moral and healthical aspects of humanity. We should not shun anything. In the end these thoughts only profit the same persons. Now the people still pay more and still kill themselves to earn nothing. We must change this obsession to money! For it has now reached out to control our politics. We are supposed to be in charge, all of us! Not just the minority of profiteers. We are letting them destroy our home with pipelines and tar sands! What will be left for our children to enjoy and live with? We must make changes now! Not soon or later! Now! While we still can. Is it too much to ask to have drinkable water? Is it too much to ask for jobs or politicians that respect our rights? I think not. There are many out there who want change, I hear your screams, but I would wish to hear your roars. I know this foul system puts you down but resist! Nothing is impossible for the people.

Lack of results from protesting led the founding fathers to produce the Suffolk Resolves. Here's our Resolve:

This is the year of the Protestor. Don't back down and don't give up as we are the power of change!
