One person eating an 8000 meal is shockingly greedy, and detrimental to society.

An 8000 calorie meal should be able to feed a person for five days. It could feed a family in sub-Saharan Africa for weeks.

didn't someone recently die of a heart attack who participated in one of their promotions?

I think I heard that too. They're opening a new location in Vegas. Because any successful brand anywhere gets a Vegas franchise. That's just how it works.

This is gluttony for the sake of gluttony. Corporations are positioning themselves to profit from people eating enough food to feed a needy person for a week, in one sitting. Those corporations will profit while adding to the health care costs of our society. The whole thing is offensive on many levels.

Can a conservative and a bunch of liberals at least agree about that?

lol yes, we can.

but I talk to some libertarians who believe their right to sell or eat horrible, greasy, greedy, unhealthy food trumps - well, anyone's right to tell them not to

So, what do we do about the Heart Attack Grill? Thoughts?

And i found a link about the man who died. He was 29 years old and weighed almost 600 pounds.

I'll play the conservative straw man here and say that it's about personal responsibility, so let him kill himself. Just hopefully it happens quickly so that he doesn't cost society too much and take up too much food.

The caloric content of food has very little bearing on the amount of resources that went into its production. Just look at the typical fast food fare.

Seriously who could eat that big one? I can barely finish a Hardee's mushroom and swiss with a small curls. And i weight just north of 200lb.
