You are incorrect: OWS does not support socialism; it supports equality, You've swallowed your Fox pablum to spout the same, tired party lines.

[-] 3 points by jph (2652) 12 years ago

Duh! socialism and democracy go hand in glove. all economies are a mix of socialism and free markets. ours is just corrupted with fascist bankers. military/corporate interests that have played the system to the point that we have institutionalized skimming being protected by both political parties. oligarchy is not democracy.

Your not still buying that myth about how the rich are the job creators. The old trickle down your leg bs. You know. It's time for the rich to pay their fair share. Don't ya think?

[-] 0 points by ForrFreedom (49) 12 years ago

No. I've never believed that. I think the amount of responses I immediately got to this thread is interesting though. I'm guilty. I only suspected socialism. Now I'm doing research.

[-] 1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 12 years ago

NO, you didn't believe, here's the proof, as played out in reality:

GOP Supercommittee Member Admits Bush Tax Cuts Didn’t Create Jobs, Can’t Explain Why

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2011/12/04/381510/upton-cant-explain-tax-cuts-jobs/

HUNT: But I’m asking, why did the economy grow a lot? Why were more jobs created in the previous decade under higher taxes than in this decade under lower taxes?

UPTON: I don’t know specifically the answer to that question. I can – I can maybe merit a guess. But, I mean, in large part is because our job – we lost jobs. I mean, look at the jobs report that came out this last week, three-hundred- some-thousand people actually stopped looking for jobs.

It appears that the author of this post has decided to rescind his entire post. And he has replaced it with the ABCs of posting as he strokes his ego publicly.

Is this a joke, or is it child's play?

For Freedom says:

"Socialism is economically inefficient as it does not reward entrepreneurs. Instead of rewarding entrepreneurs for creating wealth, it punishes them by making them pay higher taxes."

My ANSWER:

If The Rich Are Jobs Creators, Where Are The Jobs? They got the Tax Cuts!!!

My Analysis:

Those making over $250,000 a year have been paying less income taxes because of a unfunded Bush tax cut for the rich that was supposed to help generate jobs. We were promised great prosperity, home ownership, and wealth. So where are the jobs we were promised? The American people are still waiting after 8 years of those Bush tax cuts. The rich still have them. What happened to those rich job creators?

The rich have gotten richer, that's indisputable, and the poor have gotten poorer. Am I living in some kind of twilight zone fantasy nightmare or has the American Dream started leaving us all behind except those 1% who enjoy all the money but just decided not to create any jobs with it.

Isn't this that recycled crap from Reagan, Trickle Down! Well, I think the jury isn't out on this one any more. It doesn't work. For the 1 %, it's time for you to pay for those roads and bridges you drive on, and the employees you hire who are educated in our public schools.

Have you been listening to Hannity again Forr? Faux News? Do you check your facts? Or is it that narrative playing in your head too loud?

[-] 1 points by ForrFreedom (49) 12 years ago

The only media I consume is NPR. I decided today that I'm going to stop listening to them. So for now on I do my own research.

[-] 1 points by Puzzlin (2898) 12 years ago

Really? What, you interview people in the street? Conduct surveys? Your a genius!!! Wow!

Tell me what your data says!!!

[-] 0 points by ForrFreedom (49) 12 years ago

My data says that "your" is the most common misspelling for "you're."

New Instructions about the forum above

[-] 1 points by RedJazz43 (2757) 12 years ago

Where is the evidence that OWS is socialist. The only political document that OWS has produced of which I am aware is the Declaration of the Occupation of New York City, which is clearly anti-corporate but could only be construed as being socialist if one conflates anti-corporatism with socialism.

It is widely acknowledged that the initiators of OWS were anarchists or people very influenced by the anarchist intellectual tradition and they continue to be the most influential organizers in OWS. The mass base of OWS activists are probably liberals if they have any politics at all. There are several socialist groups and socialist individuals that are active in OWS, but for the most part they are a minority and do not play a leading role.

Alright, OWS represents a lot of people - from right-winged "libertarians", to Marxists, and to anarchists.

And for fuck's sake, socialism is when the workers hold control over the means of production (it is NOT a mixed economy, nor is it when da big bad government own errything) - so there will not be entrepreneurs because the capitalist class will be destroyed naturally. Under socialism, capital will become abolished.

Communism is the final stage of society, when full socialism is achieved, private property is abolished, the state withers, there are no social classes and there is no money. The superabundance of wealth and material is redistributed from each according to his/her ability to each according to his/her need.

Oh, and btw, us socialists and communists hate liberals, Obama, and social democracy. Just throwing that out there.

I'm sure there's a way to embed code but I have to know what tags the programmers used to identify code.
