These type of attacks have been happening over the past 200 years but it is clear to me today that Congress wants to do away with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights now in a more than ever with Acts such as Patriot Act, National Defense Fiscal Year Act 2011, SOPA, And Protect IP. So let me ask you this OWS has any one been paying attention to these acts? And do you personally respect natural rights and liberties? Because believe it or not the Constitution and Declaration of Independence recognizes your individual rights the US government obviously does not anymore. Time to stand up and join others to support the Constitution.

You need to broaden this to include All Americans, not just OWS. I have put up a post similar to yours spurring on all Americans to get out there voting. I even tried to spur on the Tea Party people to get out their protesting. This is OUR country and I am sure that every American, regardless of political affiliation and ideologies, should be down on Capitol Hill protesting. It is just unbelievable what is going on right now. We can't afford to be complacent, as the saying goes complacency kills. ACT NOW!

Agreed. When it comes to attacks on the very basis of this country and what it means to be free and an American citizen, we need to focus on our similarities and not our differences. Unite and reclaim our rights, we can sort out the details under the umbrella of the Constitution later!

I agree wholeheartedly with what you said here.

DITTO. But this no-holds-barred assault on the Constitution is so extreme that Congress and the White House give me the impression that they are in fact digging their own graves...

Don't miss this excellent article on "Truthdiggers of the week": "NDAA Dissenters in Congress"

Thank for sharing that article, I booked marked it so I can read it a little later.

Here check out this short commentary on how we are losing freedoms everyday in this country. It says it all. http://www.wpix.com/videogallery/66806863/News/IT’S-ALL-ABOUT-CONTROL#pl-62886862

The only thing that congress is good at is making themselves look good to their districts. They are motivated to get richer. Their benefactors don't mind if they propose unfavorable legislation, when they know it won't pass, so it's a moot agenda. The polls show that hard as they try, we don't like them, or the status quo.

What good is not liking them if we can't get the incumbents out of office because their district likes them. Look it up 90% reelection for Congressional incumbents. The best thing to do now is to go to district and inform the people of what an asshole their representative is but really I don't think that that will make a difference. People are stupid.

In the effort to keep my status quo comment short, I didn't include that exposing the false righteousness legislators display in these moot, waste of time, never to be law, speeches, debates, and the paperwork associated with those entertaining bills and amendments, as being no more than fake soundbite opportunities. It would help if all that jazz could be understood as being a FRAUD. The real value of most of congress is determined by what they'll swap their votes for. Could there be think tanks, funded by lobbyists, conceiving, writing and coaching them, like a low cost Hollywood reality show?... After all, the corporations will have much capitol invested in the lifetime career span of one of these people. Winning elections and funeral plans have to be con$idered. I particularly detest the family values advocates, who run the risk of getting caught with their prostitutes, and the anti-drug folks caught using and selling it. I don't track my districts' legislators, but I also didn't and won't vote for them.

They have only one more step remaining: the complete outlawing of voting. It's coming. Think it's impossible? Your parents would have said that no US government could have invalidated Habeas Corpus and Posse Comitatus. But they did it. They are on Naomi Wolf's 10th step now:

Every American should be fighting (peacefully) to bring the Constitution/Bill of Rights back from the ashes after the passing of these heinous acts.
